I wanted to like the Hotel San Nicola, an old hotel and possible former mini-villa located in the core historic center of Altamura that offers free parking. First, the service is mediocre. We arrived early, our bags were stored in an open side room for the entire day. We…
What a find ! After visiting Altamura for business & learning of the Local ‘Festival Francis’ I knew I had to change my travel plans and return — I was told it was going to be almost impossible to find anywhere near the old town due to this 3 day festival But At the Last…
An ex- 18th century palazzo. Quirky rooms, all different, fairly dark in tradition with the age. Wonderful location, 100m from the cathedral. Breakfast basic but OK. But what really makes this are the very helpful staff.
Clean, functional, historical, Public areas are pleasant, and more like 4* , but rooms need some tlc. Crew don't seem happy. Breakfast not replaced adequately. Rooms spartan, dark and dim. Only one pillow per bed. No decent reading light. Some kerfuffle over what we had been…
Nice hotel in the centre of Altamura reachable by car, the hotel offers a free valet parking service. Very good professional service. The property is in need of a refurbishment to regain its former glamour.
"As it is in the middle of town there were no rooms with a view. there was local street noise during the evening but not too intrusive"
"Our room was above the road to the right of the hotel as pictured, on the first floor."
"None of the rooms have views - our room 103 had the biggest bathroom I have come across with very tall ceilings in the bedroom and bathroom with floor to ceiling windows in both rooms."
"I had 107 at the back of the hotel but as the hotel is in the centre of an old town there is a level of noise where ever you are."
"We went to Bari for a friends wedding. Some guests were booked into tiny rooms....I didn't see the room so I can't compare or make a comment on the size and feature. I was on the second floor. Don't expect any fantastic view from your bedroom windows."
