We stayed at Akasamiaitri 5 years ago, and enjoyed it so much, we returned again this year - The host, Pasquale is most accomodating and helpful, and offers great advice on restaurants and other activities in the area. The rooms are spotless, and breakfasts delicious!
We stopped for one night on our way South and found a wonderful clean and luxurious oasis of hospitality, a gentleman host, and a breakfast to write home about. Pasquale helped us feel at home, booked us a table at a restaurant. He drove us back to our car and prepared a perfect strudel for breakfast. Pasquale knows the area well, and offers guided archeological tours into this fascinating area. We hope to come back soon. Highly recommended!
We stayed as a family for 3 nights at the end of July. The rooms were comfortable, clean and well thought through. The Internet connection is fast. Pasquale is a magnificent host who goes the extra mile for his clients. If you are looking for something off the beaten track, different and original but with 21 century service, this is the place.
This is a lovingly decorated and beautiful B&B worth spending a few days in. Pasquale, the owner, offers a freshly baked breakfast, and was very helpful in recommending good local restaurants and arranging a local driver to take us to the beach when we needed. He also picks and drops off guests from Formia station. He puts in a lot of effort to make guests feel welcomed. The town Itri with its winding, cobblestoned streeets is charming, the views from the B&B which is at the top of the hill are lovely, and the air is very fresh. I would highly recommend this B&B for anyone visiting the area.
We originally booked another B&B for our visit to Itri, but when we discovered at the last minute that the B&B was about 5 miles out from Itri, and we were going to Itri to celebrate the Festa Della Madonna di Civita (The Feast of St. Mary), we had to act fast and find a place in town. We found Akasamiaitri online, contacted the owner Pasquale, and arranged our stay. I cannot say enough about Pasquale, his hospitality, the fantastic job he did designing, renovating, and decorating the B&B. The table for breakfast was beautifully set and each morning he outdid himself with a new and exquisite pastry for the local bakery. Pasquale also offered to cook us an 'American' breakfast of bacon and eggs or pancakes, but we opted for the local fare and were not disappointed. Every morning, Pasquale would get up early, run to the bakery, back to the B&B and prepare breakfast. The rooms were beautifully appointed. Our room had a floor to ceiling window with shutters, which were wide open as we slept. I thoroughly enjoyed sleeping with the fresh air coming in through the window and the ceiling fan. Akasamiaitri does not have air conditioning in its guest rooms or the main sitting room, but there is air in the kitchen. The location was nearly at the top of the older part of Itri. Pasquale met us in the main part of town and we followed him up, up, up some very narrow, ancient roads. The walk up to the B&B is a nice work out but nothing that can't be handled. I was often passed by women much older than me carrying groceries! It is an absolutely beautiful B&B, at an absolutely beautiful location, with a tremendously helpful and accommodating host. I highly recommend Akasmiaitri. Thank you, Pasquale, for adding to the specialness of this visit to the home of my ancestors.…
last september 2014 I was guest in Itri, at the luxury B & B “Akasamia”. I have seen that Mr. Pasquale Valentino, owner of the wonderful building where are the apartments, really reserve a special treatment for his clients. The services are excellent: the breakfast is tasty, the rooms (and the baths) are very comfortable and welcoming, the composite furniture solutions are at the top (usually beds, wardrobes, tables are antiques). Surely ”Akasamia” is one of the highest level of the italian enjoyable way to satisfy the customers requirements.
This B&B is situated in the heart of the little Itri, between the mountains and the sea; It's also not far from Sperlonga and Gaeta. "akasamia" is the most lovely place i've ever been! my room was as comfortable as quiete and the landscape from the window was greate. Pasquale's breakfasts,in truly English style, were always very good. "akasamia" is a perfect place to your downtime. I'll be back.
Tucked away under the commanding backdrop of the medieval castle of Itri, sits Akasamia. This stunningly renovated home lies within the quiet back streets of the hillside town however surprisingly close to the centre of town if you're keen to take on a few steps. True to it's name - this is a beautiful home away from home. Think "old world Italy charm meets the Hamptons" and your close to figuring out the style of this incredible renovated house! But you could all read that on any travel site - what I need to share with you is the absolute love, care and integrity of it's delightful owner and host Pasquale Valentino. My partner and 6 month old daughter arrived for 4 nights at the end of a whirlwind 3 week trip to visit family in Holland & UK. What we needed was a well-deserved, quietly cultured few days before returning to Australia - and that's what we got! Pasquale was attentive to our needs as a small family - from providing a travel cot and locating baby food and easily accessible beaches to recommendations for beautiful locations to visit and restaurants. He shared his local knowledge of the town and surrounds, while indulging us in our poor attempts at Italian! Pasquale introduced us to some locals - including restauranteurs and caretakers of the church at the top of the hill! His passion for the town and hosting guests at his home is evident in how he cares for guests - from laying out exceptional breakfasts each morning to offering to do our washing! A genuine and perfect Italian host. You can reach Itri by train but I think you'd be confined to the local town - and there's so much more to see and do. We hired a car and was glad of it to visit various places. Akasamia is tucked away at the end of a narrow (they're all narrow!) cobbled street, so if you're traveling with a few bags (or baby!) be prepared to carry them for a short walk and then up some stairs. Access to the kitchen was an essential for us - neat, but pretty much everything you need, including the fridge for wine and beer! No microwave. Bed and linens were divine! Best bed I've slept in, including my own! A peaceful opportunity for sleep - if you're not with a baby! So close to seaside locations such as Gaeta and Sperlonga, Akasamia is the perfect country retreat home away from home. I only hope we can return one day soon.…
From the moment we met Pasquale when he helped us park our car, we knew we had made the right decision. He looked after us so well, and we felt at home as soon as we walked through the door of his beautiful house, which has been tastefully furnished to a high standard. Pasquale's love of art and his great knowledge of history is reflected in this. We were spoilt every morning with a delicious breakfast, including a home-made cake each day. Returning at the end of each day, we found the house spotlessly clean along with freshly made beds. You will not find a more knowledgeable, friendly, or generous host. We can only recommend B&B Akasamiaitri, and look forward very much to returning there.
Beautiful setting, newly restored home with a wonderful host. Thoroughly enjoyed our weekend getaway in this great town. The B&B is located in the old city with an easy walk to the castle. We felt very comfortable and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We will be back for sure! Thanks Pasquale.
