Just back from another great stay and this family-run hotel. Situated in the centre of Albert, Hotel de la Basilique makes a perfect base for visiting the Somme battle area. Didier and Sandy always provide a warm welcome and the rooms and facilities are excellent. Full of character and offering excellent evening cuisine, I thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone...

A family run business in the heart of Albert. Very accommodating when we needed to change our booking as the result of a family bereavement. The rooms are spacious and clean. The bathrooms have plenty of soft white towels and lots of hot water. The room heating is efficient. As a hotel, it's a great place to stay. What really...

We stayed 2 nights while visiting the Somme battlefields. Great location in the center of Albert. The room was clean. The shower was a bit dicey (hard to heat up the water). The owners were very nice. The food was excellent as was the wine. We found the on-street parking a bit tricky. Overall, a pleasant experience.

March 16th 2013.Stayed in this family run hotel for 2 nights in a front facing twin room, price per night with continental breakfast is reasonable. Although the rooms are smallish they have all that one would require. The reason for the stay was to visit the WW1 battlefields and cemeteries in the area, Albert is a perfect base. I would...

I've been staying at Hotel Restaurant de la Basilique for nearly ten years and it keeps getting better and better. Conveniently located right in the centre of Albert with plenty of (free) on-street parking, it is the perfect base for touring the Somme area and Picardy. Run by the same family for many years, the atmosphere is genuine and the...

Visited here this evening (29 January 2013) for a meal. No complaints. Paid 14 euro each for a 2 course meal which was nicely presented, good quality and friendly service. Also a good choice on the menu list and some nice wines which will not break the bank !

A highly recommended traditional, town centre hotel and restaurant. Simple, but very clean room - excellent shower. Extensive choice of high quality food, well presented and pleasantly served. Room, food and wine all represent very good value for money. Easy parking in town centre.

We used the restaurant in this hotel and were very impressed. We were served quickly and efficiently. The choices were good and the food was to a high standard and reasonably priced. Being a Saturday, it was busy as the evening progressed, so a booking is advisable.

We stayed here for two nights in September while we did a self guided battlefield tour. Both the town and the hotel make an excellent base. The rooms are simple but perfectly adequate and clean. We stayed in a room overlooking the basilique and the square . This is a friendly , family run logis . We ate in both...
