This was by far the most expensive hotel I have stayed in 200$ for 2 nights on my trip to Costa Rica. 45$ for a taxi because it is way up on the mountain that no one would want to go and no busses. Nothing to do besides go to waterfall, so my recommendation would be to make a day...

We had a very good stay in this family place, the food was great and the rooms are simple but very clean and private, the internet is very good and free, we really enjoyed, Unfortunately we didn't not have any more time to add one more night.

Close to the National Park which was a beautiful hike including a waterfall and two rivers which meet and the water changes colour. The room was very clean and comfortable but no air conditioning. Meals were good.

The cabin we stayed in was very nice, clean and spacious. The hotel is far away from everything and when you're driving up the rocky and bumpy road it seems as if you're leaving civilization behind. This makes that the hotel is really calm, quiet and peaceful. The owners are very nice people. They have a restaurant at the hotel...

I review this stay based as a solo traveler and most would stay down the mountain if traveling with family. This was one of my first stops while exploring all of CR in a 4x4. It was very impressive from the beginning as I drove up the tall winding dirt road stopping to film Howler Monkeys along the way. You...

I recently stayed at Posada Rio Celeste for 2 nights with my husband and 3 friends. This is a very special place. After reading other reviews, we knew going in that the rooms would be "rustic," so that didn't bother us. Yes, the walls are extremely thin and there are a lot of bugs (but there's mosquito netting around the...

This is my first trip to Costa Rica, and I have spent almost 2 weeks traveling the north, west, and now southern zone. By far my favorite place that I've stayed was La Amistad / Rio Celeste. My room was clean (and had a television), the food was good (and plentiful), the people warm, and I felt safe here (as...

Yep it is a rustic place and that was what I was looking for. If you expect luxury accomodations, this is not the place. Yep, I was eaten alive by the mosquitos, but if you are prone, just wear long sleeves and pants at dusk, the rest of the day is ok. I loved the feeling of being in a...
