We expected certain services from a 4-star hotel, especially regarding cleaning, cobwebs on the windows of the common areas, which date back several months. the ventilation of the bedroom window, black with dirt, mold, in the shower, which came off easily, dirt encrusted in the shower screen. View of a dumpster. Smell of chlorine coming up in the elevator. We have had many 3 stars which were well above.

STAY 3 NIGHTS. Very nice and well appointed room, view of the park (many storage, coffees available) large bathroom (bathrobes provided). Suggestion: put a non-slip in the shower.
Room service to leave to be desired (bed badly made, cup not changed, toilet paper and "kleenex" missing). Impeccable swimming pool and sauna (towels and bathrobes available). Near La Rochelle (10mn).
I highly recommend it. On the other hand, the restaurant is not very good (menu with little choice, service too slow) staff lacking in friendliness.

Friendly welcome, staff with little care. The castle is 5km from La Rochelle or 10 minutes from the Verdun car park and it is great. Comfortable and very clean room with a slightly old but pretty decoration.
The services offered are excellent: varied breakfast, served in the room or in the restaurant, large and well maintained hamman, heated pool, massage in super pleasant duet by professionals who know their job..
The restaurant glued to the castle has an incredible Award Value, but is especially super good!!
Thank you again for your kindness and professionalism

Only stayed one night in April 2024 in room 03.
We hadn't intended to stay here, it was due to the poor lock of transport further up the coast, that we were forced to get overnight accommodation closed to the La Rochelle Airport for our early morning flight back to Dublin.
The lady (assuming it was the manager) on the desk wasn't the friendliest despite us being paying guests at over €80+ for a room only.
We expected to find a lobby at this hotel to sit in, as we were about an hour early for check in, but like the Spanish couple in front of us, didn't find any such area at the reception desk and was 'sharply' told us off for entering the hotel before the allocated booking in time and was told it basically wasn't company policy to book people in early, but she would do it this once.
Room was fine and spacious, I had asked for a menu at reception when booking in, but they told me they didn't have any available, so I walked down to the dinning room, which wasn't anything special, menu was of course in French, so no idea what the food actually was and no good for my 8 year old son.
I ended up googling the nearest McDonalds, which was about a 30/45 mins walk away along the main road, which suited my son better.
The accommodation really needs a professional cleaners, as you can see from the photos, the back garden is a decent size space that really needs a professional landscape design completed on it.
The front of the hotel looks lovely, but is next door to apartments (flats) and a car park and bin (rubbish) area. Sad, as one could imagine a really nice setting when it was first built. We wouldn't stay again however.

This was no 4* and no SPA. Room: no slippers, no shower caps, no sanitary kit like crème etc, awful design with a bath right in front of your bed without curtains, almost no wifi connection in the rooms, dusty ventilation grid, reception service not permanent, nothing in the mini-bar... So called SPA: just some dirty tiny swimming something. Staff: remarkably unfriendly and indifferent “responsable de l’hébergement” Mme Mélanie Gevrey. Very poor pathetic place.

We booked a room at the Hotel du Château this summer. The building is beautiful BUT it is just in front of a family complex with an outdoor swimming pool which is loud and ugly.
We also had a bad experience with the staff and restaurant so we do not believe it is up to the price or standard.

The staff: from Reception to Check-out to Breakfast is appalling. Young receptionist bordering on rudeness: on arrival, reports us a release from the room at 10:30; in front of our surprise at this hour so early in the morning, she replies that this is the rules and that if necessary she should clean our room, the room staff having finished at noon. Never heard that in a Pension.
Decoration worthy of an Ehpad: sadness and bad taste everywhere!
36 degrees at the pool thermometer, stuffy, empty water canister, doors slamming.
Breakfast buffet of poor quality and hateful waitress!
Award certainly affordable but worth a 2 star and whatever the Award, it does not prevent the friendliness and professionalism of the staff.
Do not stop there!

An electrical problem appeared in the evening, no more TV, no electrical outlet, no fridge... an on-call number where no one answers! Despite several messages, no call back! Not worthy of a three star... the person at reception in the morning was professional but unfortunately the management does not seem to be as respectful!

Very disappointing hotel. We had to take our shower directly from the hose because it did not fit on the shower head. Despite numerous reminders to reception, nothing was done. Very average welcome. Breakfast is nothing special. The restaurant is understaffed, 2 hours for an evening meal is a very, very long time, especially when you're passing through on business! No bar for a drink after work either. We will not return there.

Bonjour,
La piscine est en effet couverte. Il s'agit d'une piscine intérieure.
Bien à vous,

Bonjour,
