We had a great room on the top floor overlooking the water and Kirkjufell. The room was very nicely appointed and spacious with a good size bathroom. We found the room to be very quiet. The bed is tucked away in an alcove which means that it is nice and dark in the morning - a good thing in a...

Hotel Framnes is recommendable only because it's decent and about the only place around. On the plus side, it's very clean and the prices are lower than the other places we stayed in Iceland. Minuses include thin walls, fried fish smell from the restaurant kitchen, disinterested staff. Unacceptable: having to carry heavy luggage up and down 2 flights of stairs.

I stayed 2 nights at Framnes. The hotel is 5 minutes driving from Kirkjufell Mountain, which is perfect. We were very tired from a long flight and a long drive from Keflavik, but managed to take a million of pictures of Kirkjufell. The next morning we drove around Snaefellsnes Peninsula, we circled the entire peninsula, had lunch at hotel budir,...

We were here as part of a tour package. Rooms were small, think closet. Bathrooms were smaller, think cruise ship. Beds were really small - think back to summer camp! Still,a place to sleep (fitfully) in a quaint village that we would not have otherwise seen. The highlight here was going out on a fishing boat to see the migratory...

Right on the edge of the fjord. Arrived in the evening after a full day of travelling. Found the hotel without any problem. Check in was speedy. We were given room 202 on the top floor. 2 flights of stairs and heavy cases not too much fun but we managed fine. 202 was a lovely spacious attic room. Beds etc...

We stayed here as part of our tour of Iceland. We liked this hotel, both rooms were good, a bit dated, but clean and had everything we needed. The greeting was good as was the restuarant which i would recommend and reasonably priced. Staff were excellent and looked after us well. We had a view out to the sea and...

Stayed here a couple of nights while birding the Snaefjellsness area. Decent hotel, clean rooms if a bit small, good food. Good basic place to get your head down after a long day which is all one is looking for in a small town like this. Good value.

Grundarfjordur is a tiny little place located on the north of Snaefellsnes and Hotel Framnes is the only hotel in town. We received a friendly welcome when we arrived. Most rooms are located upstairs with no lift, which could be a problem if you have heavy bags. Our room overlooked the sea. It was quite small and a bit dated...

Very pretty hotel, well run. The rooms were full so we were offered a very nice apartment 100 yds away. The meals there are the best in Grundarfjordur !!!! Make sure you check in for Happy Hour @ their cafe which has excellent draught beer !
