We just had a tea in the hotel and visited the inner courtyard. It's a impressive place with a lot of history. The staff is not very friendly, they just do their job. We had tea with delicious traditional sweets.

I was excited because I have been to Karavansarais before but never stayed in one. I did not make the reservation here. It was made by the travel agency. There was another lady on the tour so she and I decided to make reservations for dinner since we checked in at the same time. Nobody helped me with my luggage.... More

This place fascinated me. To imagine generations of travelers and merchants on the road, pausing here for the night on their way to beyond. This stone hotel-restaurant-tavern-stable is full of picturesque corners to take photos. The restaurant is good. And the tea house is really cool and atmospheric. Defiantly visit here. We did not sleep here, just passed through for... More

The place is absolutely unmissable. Even if you don't sleep there (don't choose it if you want luxury or international style), try to sneak in and have a look. An old caravanseray transformed into a hotel and with a genuine feeling. Don't forget to explore the whole building. The rooms are basic, but give extra flair to the experience. There... More

I came to Azerbaijan as a part of my self-planned "Baku-Batumi" trip and after visiting Baku I thought to skip Sheki, however, coming here and staying at Karavansaray Hotel was an experience on its own. There is so much history and authenticity in this place, you don't really need to visit anything else in town. It is located within 5-8... More

Great place! You get a bedroom, bathroom and living room. They are a bit dark but I found them clean and warm which was great because we were all wet and chilled from camping that morning. Close to the Khan Palace. Restaurant has iffy English, half the orders were wrong but we went with the fact it was a fun... More

We stayed there as a group, traveling on the silk road. The place is interesting from the historical point of view, but the rooms were dark and dingy and the unclean and dated bathrooms could be better. No wifi. Very limited food selection at the in-house restaurant and no alcohol served. No restaurants nearby. I ended up having dinner at... More

Although there aren't any merchandisers or camels parked inside the karawansarais walls, you can feel like you're taken to good times of Silk Road at its best. The rooms are not the fanciest but are cheap. And you have a bed to sleep and toilet and shower with hot water. My bf and I stayed there only one night and... More

This review is for the in house restaurant. This a very example of tourist trap. We went for lunch. The server advised us against all our choices. Finally we settled for Coban salad, quzu kebab and piti. The salad was the only good food. The piti was watery with few chickpeas a price of meat and lump of lamb fat.... More

I videoed a travel producer at the Karanvansarai. I wanted to stay there --- but she had booked rooms across the street at the corporate chain hotel. The Karavansarai served as a road fortress for traders on the Silk Road. They quartered their camels and horses in the courtyard, they guarded their goods and slept in the rooms. Now, the... More
