Tasteful modern, newly decorated hotel very close to the station and shops. Stunning bathroom. Lovely welcome. Great breakfast. Unfortunately the aircon wasn't working.. Temperature in room stifling even with window open..which caused alot of dogs & vehicle noise. Jug in room but no coffee, just tea. However, they do make you complimentary coffees in reception. Wi fi was impossible to connect due to maintenance issues.

Rooms (at least ours) are a bit small and like many historic center properties not a lot of view or natural light. Bath is large enough although corner shower is very small. That said this is a very nice boutique hotel with modern interiors. Can't beat the location in the old town although I suspect parking may be a challenge. Hotel was very clean with a helpful staff. Breakfast offerings are limited however.

We visit Tirano every year and this was the best hotel yet.

A solid 4 stars in the historic centre which has more character and is quieter than near the train station. It’s only a short level walk to the train station for the trenino or state rail to Milano.

Spacious room and bathroom. Everything worked well. Great wifi. Very good breakfast. Super quiet room.

Shops, bars and restaurants are all nearby. Parravicini (probably the best restaurant) is just a few steps further. Belvedere (good value excellent food) is near the Basilica - also quite walkable.

The service team lead by Giovanni are all friendly and helpful.

Fabulous small hotel.

I would absolutely NOT recommend this hotel. It is raining and humid and the hotel has no air conditioning. The hotel has no umbrellas for guests...not even one. I stay in about 100 hotels a year and this is the first one ever with no umbrella. The TV has almost 500 channels and NOT ONE English language channel of any kind...NOT ONE. There are always choices and this hotel should never be your choice. I rank this a one star hotel for poor backpackers and the room price should be $20-30 similar to a hostel. Also, it should NOT carry the Best Western brand.

Response from Servizio Clienti, Marketing at Hotel Centrale Tirano
Responded 22 Jul 2024
Dear Guest, We sincerely apologize that your stay did not meet your expectations and that you encountered these issues. We regret the absence of air conditioning; unfortunately, we had a malfunction during that week. Regarding the TV, we are always available at the reception to address any issues and ensure our guests have a good experience. However, we find it excessive to classify our hotel, which is known for its elegance and courtesy, as a hostel. Our goal is always to provide high-quality service, and we are sorry that we did not meet your expectations on this occasion. Thank you for your feedback, and we hope to have the opportunity to demonstrate the true level of our service in the future. Best regards, Customer Service SJ

This hotel is a ten minute walk from the railway station and half that into the lively town centre. Our superior room was very small although clean and pleasant. The shower over bath, which involved a dangerous manoeuvre for someone of my advancing years was a disappointment. Breakfast in a rather cramped and sombre atmosphere was just ok.
Overall a useful hotel in the perfect place to get on or off the Bernini, but greatly overpriced.

Hotel is a 10 minute walk from the train and near a number of good restaurants. Very quiet and very nice staff. Water kettle, plenty of space, safe, free wifi, and good bed.

Breakfast is continental. So no hot food. Still a wide selection of very good items. Breakfast is plentiful and above average.

Excellent value.

As for Tirano, very lovely small town with little to see, but great place to stop for the train or as a base for a few days if traveling out to Italy and hiking in the Alps.

This is not a fancy hotel. My room was small, but comfortable and they have a nice dining room with a good breakfast. The location is also good. But it was noisy due to a dog that barked in the middle of the night and early morning hours. When I went to the dining room for breakfast, I heard barking again and I looked into the kitchen and there was the culprit: one of the kitchen staff's pets!

What a treat this hotel—with my group of traveling to the Alps of N Italy and Switzerland. Charming quiet village with good train service, pleasant logical streets and friendly locals. This sweet hotel was a delight and a beautiful renovated property. Thoughtfully furnished and decorated.

My husband and I spent the night at this hotel in Tirano. We arrived quite late after a long train ride. We planned to take the Bernina Express to St Moritz early the next morning. We had a bit of difficulty finding the hotel and called for directions. The receptionist actually walked down the street to meet us. She was so welcoming giving us all the necessary information about our trip and making many helpful suggestions. My only regret is that I did not remember to ask her name.
The hotel is very clean and has all the necessary amenities. Breakfast was ready even before 7am so we were able to have a meal before we left. The meal was more than ample , was elegantly presented and was delicious. We were really pleased with our stay and would definitely stay there again.

Stayed one night at this fabulous hotel having taken scenic trains through Switzerland. Was totally impressed with the luxurious makeover of this original grocer's store.
Original and very tasteful modern artwork and furnishings. The room was beautiful, breakfast choice and quality was amazing. Incredibly helpful young lady on reception.
It was a 5 star experience for a three star price!
Spa soon to be open.
