Was already impressed before i arrived. The hotel staff replied my Agoda special requests in a matter of minutes after my booking. Arrived at 1+am & took a 150 pesos tricycle ride to RB Lodge. Apparently i just mentioned RB Lodge & the driver just replied Yes he knows. We arrived & my driver pressed the bell. Staff arrived promptly at 1+am to bring me to my room. Shortly knocked on my door to ask me about choosing a breakfast for tomorrow morning & the timing to serve it. They had hot water bath , nice size bathroom with normal toilet bowl with working flush. TV consisted of so many cable TV channels that i had to switch off else i will be switching between channels & be tired the following morning. At 810am , they knocked on my door to inform that breakfast is ready. Thereafter i changed into new singlets & bermudas ... walked around Kalibo town to purchase souvenirs .. Checked out at 12 noon happily.. This Lodge punches above it's weight & is value for $$ , conveniently located... Wonderful place..…
Staff were friendly but the rooms were very basic and the wifi did not work for us anywhere. The location of this place is brilliant however and as we had no intention of spending much time in the 'lodge' we were not too fussed. We were here during Ati Atihan and the low price compared to alternatives was very attractive.
Value for money! It feels like home stay! We had 4 rooms at this lodge. Newly renovated! Careful when you book at this lodge. There are 2 lodges about 2 mins walk apart. All rooms don’t have any similarity. They have their unique layout and designs, etc. This area is pretty much newly renovated and it is still expanding The owner of this lodge keeps herself busy every day at the beautiful garden. Breakfast area / chilling out surrounded by greens was pretty cool! Slow Internet connection
We enjoyed our stay at RB Lodge on Roldan St. The Pastrana St building is the original site, but the Roldan St is much better (and more $$$) We had a nice AC room with bath and wifi. Had our daily breakfast in the wonderful garden. We will consider RB if we return for Ati Atihan.
We stayed in kalibo just for one night while waiting for a flight to Cebu. It's a budget spot which is evident. We booked a basic room for $12, with a fan and shared bathrooms. When we arrived it was a little dusty, so I gave it a wipe, the bathrooms however were on another level. They were filthy. HOWEVER, I told the staff at reception and they promptly spruced them up and they were fine! The beds were comfy and there's plenty of English tv channels. The confusing part was the flooring.... It's outdoor flooring continued to the inside. There's isn't much to do in the area, a few 7/11s and a bar/grill so don't expect much!
I wonder what have happened since the latest review's in 2014, which are good. The room was really hot, the fan wasn't much helping.. The shared bathroom was really dirty!!.. In our booking it says it was free toilet equipments, but there wasn't even toilet paper. The staff didn't show that much service either, the only positive thing was that we got to borrow one more fan, so we could get some sleep.
It was simply the basics but the price was right. You had a communal bathroom which I wasn't to thrilled about and you had to pour a bucket of water in the toilet to flush it but that's small potatoes in that part of the world. The bed and linens were clean and I was only there for a couple of nights and was going for the cheapest room I could find. I cancelled three nights a week later as I found another place closer to where I needed to be.
We stayed for just one night in a fanroom. We came with a bus from Caticlan, got dropped of in the city center and could easily walk to the hotel. The room we got was hot, but the fan good. Wifi worked well and same for the television. It's located close to a 7-eleven and lots of places to get food. Takes 10 minutes to get to the airport, so it's great if you're looking for a place to stay before flying.
I had Agoda booking, $24 USD/night for a twin room with AC. Upon arrival at 'RB Lodge Kalibo' the front desk staff told me that my booking was for the other building. As I followed the staff member the 300 meters to the 'inn' I was confused and slightly worried we were going to be scammed... but I soon realized we lucked out. The 'inn' is the newer building with nicer rooms. 'RB Lodge Kalibo' is more of a hostle, with some rooms sharing a bathroom down the hall. Overall the rooms in our building were adequate - I wasn't expecting much for that price. Very clean, comfy beds, functional AC. The only negatives were no real bedding beyond 1 thin sheet on each bed, a shower with no curtain, so the bathroom quickly floods while showering. Breakfast was included but not great. Overall, met expectations, and location (close to the main street with all the Ati Atihan festival action) was very good. Considering there isn't a huge selection of accommodation in Kalibo, I would likely stay here again.…
Arrived late at night for our layover to Incheon. Booked two fan rooms so that my friends and I can atleast freshen up before our connecting flight. Turned out their fans rooms only have common toilet for about 5 more rooms. It was terrible! Beats the purpose of renting two rooms. I told the staff that it was never noted in their booking that fan rooms dont have their own toilet! I rented 2 so we we'll have enough time to wash up and not wait on each other's turn! There were no toiletries either. The owner was very inconsiderate when I asked the staff to consider giving us just one room instead with at least its own toilet but they wanted us to pay for more. We were only going to stay there for less than 3 hours. It's the worst place for a layover, not to mention a little far off from the airport. Never again.…
