Very nicely appointed room with terrace and views of the mountains.
Room was one of the largest encountered in modern hotel terms which also included a generous bathroom with fresh daily towels and the provision of bathrobes!
Hotel a bit out of the way but it encouraged a daily walk to the centre of Altea, which only added to the exercise regime!
The hotel is family run and the proprietors are constantly available should any issues be encountered. The food was ample with a three course evening meal, which included a vegetarian option should it be required.
Altea, is central to both Calpe and Benidorm, both are only a short train ride away costing around €5. So visits to the more upmarket and shall we say ‘less upmarket’ venues are easily accessed with trains running until 10pm daily.
Overall, would recommend...a good standard of hotel...but not for the less mobile visitors.

Really liked this place, an old olive farm with the mill stone still a feature in the restaurant. Has a traditional feel, but airy, well equipped rooms decorated simply. Particularly large bathroom with a great shower. Loved the outdoor pool area, with boogenvillia and pomegranate trees. (Shame about the mosquitoes in late October). Excellent buffet breakfast and a lovely piella one evening. On the edge of town, down a side track, so no external noise, but the walls are a bit thin if you have noisy neighbors. Friendly staff.

This is our second visit to the hotel, and we will definitely be going back. It is situated a ten minute walk from the beautiful old town of Altea. The path up from the hotel to the lane is quite steep, so not good for anyone with mobility problems. There is a longer, flatter walk into the village if needed.
The hotel has a lovely traditional Spanish feel, with it’s history as an olive mill. The bedrooms, again in keeping with the traditional look, are huge, as are the bathrooms. We had a balcony with great views of the mountains.
The buffet breakfast, mainly continental, with a couple of hot dishes, was very good. We ate outside on the terrace overlooking the garden and pool. We also had dinner there on our first evening, again on the open terrace as the weather was good. A lovely meal, which was their 3 course set menu...great value at 20€. The reception staff were extremely helpful and friendly, and spoke very good English. We will be back!

We arrived on time to find this awful hotel in the middle of the countryside. Access to the hotel is only by a very steep dirt track. Not what I would want for my very expensive vehicle.
We demanded to see the room to confirm our initial suspicions before handed over our passports. Completely as we thought no views looked dirty and tired. Two flights of stairs, a military hike to the back of the hotel and no elevator
We stormed out and the receptionist couldn`t wait to tell us that we would be charged the full rate
Awful hotel Awful location and very rude staff!

Dear client, you arrived at the hotel, you saw the room and in 5 minutes you decided to leave the hotel with the only explanation that you did not agree to stay. Because you did not give us any reason, we informed you that according to our cancellation policy we had to charge you the amount of the first night and you answered: "that is your problem and I will talk with Booking". And then you left without offering us any chance to answer you. We regret what happened and we regret that your attitude did not allow us to do anything for you. Nothing like this ever happened to us. You will understand that for us it was a difficult situation because you refused to dialogue and you left the hotel quickly. If you had informed about our hotel, you would have seen what the surroundings are like and where we are located. We regret your words to us because we always try to do everything to satisfy our clients. We gave you a double room on the second floor with terrace and wonderful views to the mountains and to the garden, but you didn't like it. This was your room: https://www.hoteltossalaltea.com/es/room/habitacion-doble/ and we don't know why you didn't want to stay.
Located on the heights of the town of Altea, just 300 metres away from the Palau Altea Centre d'Arts, or Altea Concert Hall, and a stone’s throw from the Old Quarter, the Hotel Tossal d’Altea was built on the More site of a traditional olive oil mill which for over 300 years was used to produce olive oil. The hotel, whose design is reminiscent of Altean tradition while incorporating modern amenities and luxuries, caters mainly for guests seeking relaxation and wellbeing in a warm and welcoming environment in the heart of nature. The structure and decorative style of the hotel, whose rural design is typical of Altean country houses, blend in harmoniously with its restful setting, and it has sweeping views of the countryside, mountains and sea. What sets the hotel apart and endows it with its own personality is its core philosophy to provide attentive and personal services and a quality product for the highest guest satisfaction. Inside the hotel there is a restaurant which has two air-conditioned dining rooms which are open to the general public, where guests can enjoy Mediterranean cuisine as well as typical regional dishes. The "Menjador Almàssera" has a cylindrical stone mill and some presses in the centre, and a fireplace, while the "Saló Altea" is a more intimate area that is set apart from the main dining room. There is also a coffee lounge for guests wishing to have a coffee, which also serves the open air terrace. Hotel and outside guests may use all the restaurant facilities. The hotel has 15 rooms on the first floor and 7 rooms on the second floor. The spacious double rooms (which can also be used as single rooms) have balconies with panoramic views, mini-bar, television, telephone, internet, a safe, air-conditioning, heating, exquisite bathrooms etc. We can also highly recommend our charming Double room with canopy bed, and the uniquely elegant Special Suite which has a private sauna and hydromassage bath in an adjoining room. Whatever your tastes and interests are, we guarantee that your stay will be as pleasant and restful as possible. The hotel’s outdoor grounds include two large outdoor car parks right next to the hotel which have security surveillance, landscaped areas for enjoyable strolls, and an extensive terrace where you can sunbathe and enjoy the gentle breeze. There is also a swimming pool and gym for those who wish to use them. There is no extra charge for using these facilities, which have all been designed to provide easy access for disabled people. You are our number one priority. Visit us and relax in a restful and peaceful setting. Less

Yes as far as I could see they all did - they are mostly small and the rooms on the second floor, facing north and west had the best views.
