This was my third visit to Bera. And aside from the wildlife the place offers the highlight of my trip always is the stay at Castle Bera. This haveli, owned by Thakur Baljeet Singh is easily one of top 5 places I have ever stayed in. Thakurji is the best host. He personally greets you when you arrive and goes the extra length to make sure that the whole stay, safaris, et all is perfect. Like this time my daughter mentioned that she likes fish and he immediately instructed the staff and the very next day there was fish for lunch. As always it was a perfect trip. We had a few lifers (first time sightings)like the Indian fox. We also saw a whole family of sloth bears. And of course the Leopards. The sighting of Neelam and her three adorable cubs was the highlight of the safaris
It was our 2nd visit in 2 years. Castle Bera is the ultimate place for weekend getaway. Baljeet sir is the most cordial host I have come across. About the meals, can't be more content. Home made food was lip smacking, especially Dal Bati Churma. The sweets were also home made. The owner Thakur Baljeetji is wildlife expert and Enthusiast , knows every inch of the Sanctuary. Leopard sighting was mesmerizing. Can't think the owner enough for the wonderful setup arranged by the Jawai lake under the Moon light . Staff was also very courteous. Looking forward for our next visit
Our second visit to castle bera from 25 th to 28 th September became our another story to tell. Peaceful and comfortable. First visit out of the pandemic and it was an experience we all needed to have.Than ur Baljeet Singh himself ensured for all of our comfort again during our second visit. Very welcoming and homely. Still it became our home away from home. Safety - complete sanitization of each room and articles around. Comfortable- their service staff Sonam and manager Harsh were on toes to ensure we had a very relaxed and royal staff. We got to eat all that we desired and requested for!! The food was simple, delicious and comforting for our kids. Our visit to the Jawai lake was luxurious with tea, snacks and our only family time under the moon light amidst the wilderness…
After months of staying at home, travelling carrot any distance, my colleagues and I decided to head to Castle Bera from Delhi. Having travelled extensively around north India, and us working at a travel start-up, means it's quite hard to blow our mind. But Castle Bera - the place, people and passion - is unlike anything we had ever seen before. Jawai is known for being the place with highest number of leopard spottings, we did witness the majestic beast (and two cubs!) But the show stealers, personally, ended up being the hospitality of Castle Bera. From the royal family to Bhairo, our safari driver, each person have redefined hospitality for us. If you are ever in Bera, or want to escape the dreadful monotony of lockdown - head to Castle Bera. Easily accessible by air from…
This is our second visit to Castle Bera to enjoy the hospitality of Baljeet Singh and his wonderful staff. What a treat! We just love the company, and the conversation. The safaris are special with probably some of the most professional guides in India that we have traveled with. This time round I spent more time wandering down in the village and sipping chai with the locals. The bus stand is a good place to sit for an hour or two and take in the ambiance of the area. The whole region is super friendly. We are going again as soon as we can travel again
