Detailed Reviews
I have been visiting Bera for my annual pilgrimage to see the most elusive cat out in the open on the magnificent rocks of bera. This is probably the only place in the world where one gets such wonderful habitat sightings of this beautiful cat. This time i stayed at this excellent and well managed property run by Shatrunjay. The rooms are spacious and clean and what sets them apart is the provision of two bathrooms which makes it very convenient for two people to get ready for a early morning safari. Very practical and thoughtful indeed. Food is as good as home cooked with farm grown vegetables and a elaborate spread which is served by excellent staff. In the evenings we enjoyed sitting out in the open around a fire having a few drinks and we were served hot snacks. The safari vehicles are also very thoughtfully modified with bean bags placed for photographers . every guest is given a binocular to ease the sightings. i have been to many safari lodge across india and abroad and this was the only place which did that. I must also congratulate the excellent driver Manohar who made sure we got a sighting on almost all our trips and as photographers we admire drivers who understand our need to how to place the vehicle and the direction of light etc and he was well versed with the same. Another driver narayan singh was also excellent and took us to some wonderful landscapes to see sunrises and sunsets which are unique to this region. All in all a must recommend place to stay when in bera......

We went to Bera safari lodge for a leopard sighting and photography trip. It was indeed an experience. The lodge owner Shatrunjai, organised excellent safaris and landscapes trips for me and my group . The lodge has five large cottages with two washrooms each , no time is lost as you have a washroom per person . Small things are thought of well including binoculars in the vehicles. Excellent dining room with food which is delicious , All meals are exceptional, well curated and a mix of local and international flavours. The safari vehicles are in excellent condition , drivers are well experienced not only in driving and climbing up boulders but they are experienced trackers too . The trip was one of the best I have done and the place and terrain has much to offer. Shatrunjai is the perfect host who has really done a great service for the area and taken the Jawai leopard experience to a new level.

Bera Safari Lodge is a beautiful homestay in a small town Bera in Rajasthan near Jawai Dam.
The Services, Food, Hospitality is excellent.
Shatrunjay and the entire team is very friendly & courteous, get into all the details to make the trip special. They took specially care considering the current Covid situation and made sure there was social distancing maintained during dining , bonfire etc. The staff was continuous wearing mask , gloves and maintain hygiene and rooms were well sanitized before checking in.
The place is 5 min away from the leopard sanctuary and if your lucky enough you can have a sighting from the resort.
Would love to visit again and highly recommend the place.

Bera Safari lodge is a great vacation place for the weekend. It is located in the Rajasthan well connected with the safari places for watching leopards.
The cottages are kept clean and are warm in the cold nights expected at the place. They have 2 washrooms per cottage which is great to get ready in time for early morning safaris. Quite big and spacious cottages.
The people and staff are very kind and caring for their guests. They are also very knowledgeable about the place and leopards. They are one of the best managers of the property I have ever seen. The guy has helped tremendously in preserving the wildlife habitat for the leopards. He is also very kind in talking with his guests and has every arrangement for the guests already made in advance.
We were able to see 3 leopards and 6 cubs over there. Never been a case where if the guests have stayed for a couple of nights and they werent able to spot a leopard. Leopards are almost always seen in this area.
The food is quite delicious and cooked properly with a good hygiene being taken care of. The managers wife helps with the kitchen and she ensures good quality food. The food just feels like home-made food which is very well prepared.
On a special note- Proper sanitary methods and cleanliness are checked in place for Covid-19. All of their staff including the manager are wearing proper masks and gloves and also have sanitizers available.
Manager also ensures that the safety precautions are followed by each and everyone.
Well done Bera Safari Lodge!! Really amazed and enjoyed the stay at the property!
Highly recommended to stay at this property. Guests will thourougly enjoy it.

This place is owned by a lovely couple Shatrunjay and KT and I would truly say this was the perfect home stay experience we had. A small set up with 5 rooms and a dining hall: And all meals come from the owners kitchen who also stay in the same complex.
The restaurant servers Bikaji and Sarvan were excellent at their service. The food was delicious mix of Rajasthani cuisine and other cuisines mixed.
The Safari drivers were amazing specially Manohar singh who would smell the Leopards and made sure we would sight the leopards in each Safari whether early morning of evening.
The rooms are clean with 2 bathrooms to accommodate families with kids for the early morning safaris
Overall it was one of the best trips we had in India and the Jawaii lake region is so beautiful surrounded by Granite mountains which is home to several Leopard families since many years. A must visit for all friends and families and adventure lovers.

This is a small, well run, beautifully quiet set of lodges that provide leopard trekking trips. The rooms are large, clean and comfortable, the staff are extremely friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. They respect the nature around them and provide a wonderful all round experience. Remember you are in an isolated area, so there is no WiFi, phone signal is limited and there are no TVs in the rooms but that makes you more aware of your beautiful surroundings. The meals were all very tasty and you never went hungry. The menu is whatever the chef cooks, but if you notify the lodge in advance they will happily cater for any requirements. The stay included 2 jeep safaris every day and the team are fantastic at spotting elusive leopards and other wildlife. The limited number of guests at this lodge means you really get a personal service. We were the only people staying on our last night and the team surprised us with a beautiful candle lit al fresco dinner under the stars.

Stay at Bera safari lodge was truly an amazing experience for me and my family. It’s unique location is the key differentiator as compared to any other property. The hospitality, staff, food and cottages are exceptional and worth visiting each year especially during winters. The cottages are very spacious with two bathrooms which is very useful, especially when you are with family and doing back to back safaris. Shatrunjay the owner and his wife are a great host. The staff members are native to the place and have been well trained, jeeps are well maintained and drivers & trackers are the best. We spotted quite a few leopards and the highlight was courting leopards, the exclusive Neelam and two male leopards. Most of the action is around the lodge. Highly recommended!

Words fall short! We visited Bera for the second time and it was pleasure revisited. The leopard sightings were amazing. Can’t have enough of these beautiful cats living in coexistence with the humans. The owner Shatrunjay and his wife are so involved and take care of every little detail of their guests. The staff is well trained and looks after well. The food is tasty and I can guarantee that one will be looked after very well at this lodge. Now it’s not just the leopard sightings but there is definitely a connect. Will definitely visit again, hopefully soon.

Bera safari lodge is a luxury accommodation amidst the wilderness and greenery of Bera forest, a region famous for leopard sightings.
Property is situated off a village road and the owner sent a car to pick us from a location available on Google maps. Our stay was comfortable with all meals and safaris (twice per day at 5 30 AM and 5 30 PM) included in the package. Food was great and the staff was courteous. They even arranged a table under the stars for us to start with some drinks and appetisers.
Safari drivers are highly skilled and know the paths frequented by leopards. We went thrice and spotted the cats all three times.
Overall, a wonderful experience offering the best of everything, living comfort and the natural flora and fauna. Highly recommend.

After nearly a year of being locked at home we visited Bera Safari Lodge. Located in The land of the Leopards and Shepherds. The lodge is surrounded by the Aravalli Ranges. The beaten path leads to the entrance gate and just before it is A Milestone that mentions how far other safari's are from Bera.
We were greeted by the host Shatrunjay Ranawat who did a thermal check and we had to sanitize our hands and shoes. Lemon juice as a welcome drink was refreshing after a 5 hour road trip. We arrived late afternoon and before we could unpack a safari was ready to take us to watch leopards. They had information that a mother leopard with her 3 cubs were on a hill. And yes, we did view all the 4. Such an exhilarating experience to watch a wild animal in it's own habitat rather than in a zoo. We reached in the evening and had a bonfire ready for us. In the chilly February Rajasthan night warmth by the fire was a perfect way to end the day. The home cooked farm to table authentic Rajasthani food was awesome. We stayed for a total of 4 nights and we got to savour different dishes. The staff was polite and prompt service.
Shatrunjay and his wife katiyani were excellent hosts. We would chat up with katiyani each evening. Her recommendations to visit restaurants in Ranakpur and Udaipur were great. Our son played with their kids and their 2 dogs - Magnum and Scotch. Scotch is a playful 5 month old and Magnum the old wise one!
The package includes 2 daily safaris. One at 06:30AM and the other at 04:30PM. Setting off just before sunrise to try and catch a glimpse of the leopards before they move into the different crevices in the mountains in an open jeep and then waiting patiently to watch them come out. And then speedily trailing them across the rocky terrain. A much needed adreline rush...
We had a terrific time at the Safari Lodge and a great experience. In future, we would definitely visit again!

Safaris, all food and drink are included in the price, but the total may depend on the season you are going in as there are only 5 lodges you are best to check their availability first. If you contact them via their website they are very efficient at replying and would give you an accurate rate.
Type Bera safari lodge in google and you’ll find the website
Unfortunately I do not know how much it costs to stay at Bera, because my stay was included in a tour package. I recommend you ask them. There is a “contact us” page on their website where you can ask a question. Google Bera Safari Lodge. I expect prices vary with the time of year (ie with demand).
Hi,
Looking for leopards is a game of patience which requires one to be quiet and still. Also the drive to the locations are reached by riding in an open jeep which is very windy and cold as you leave in the early morning (5:00am) and in the evening safari brings you back late. Also, you shouldn't eat at the sight.
Right now your kids are still a bit young. The safari would throw them off their schedule for sleep and eating. And I have yet to meet a child who can sit and wait quietly for something you may see.
If it were me, I would not take them as in the end they would not enjoy and so in turn, you would not enjoy.
Not sure where you stay but a zoo would be a better option for this age, if it is animals that you want to see. Hope this helps.
