Hotel Heevan Pahalgam garners praise for its immaculate rooms and commendable housekeeping, although occasional maintenance issues are noted. Nestled by the Lidder River, the hotel's location offers stunning mountain views that leave guests in awe. While the rooms provide cozy warmth and picturesque vistas, some visitors have encountered outdated amenities and cleanliness concerns.
The service is generally efficient and friendly, with staff members who frequently exceed expectations, though isolated incidents of slower service have been mentioned. Despite offering delectable dining options and a comfortable atmosphere, some guests feel the pricing is steep considering the dated facilities.

Detailed Reviews
Our family stayed at Hotel Heevan, Pahalgam in the second week of June 2022.
The hotel has an incomparable location on the banks of the River Lidder. One feels the majesty of the river and hears it's gushing roar as you step over a walking bridge to reach the hotel. You barely needs to leave the property as the main attraction of Pahalgam swirls at your feet.
I stayed in a Deluxe Suite on the second floor but also spent time in a Deluxe Room and a Standard Room on the ground floor.
The main difference in the rooms is the floor height and view, almost all amenities are the same. Note that there is no lift/elevator in the hotel which makes deluxe rooms on a higher floor difficult for the elderly or those with mobility handicaps.
The Deluxe Suite faced the river. The euphonious gushing of the Lidder River and the view of the swirling whitewater below calms the senses and transforms the stay into a magical one.
The Deluxe room was a quiet lawn-facing room. The Standard room was terrible, faced the back fence and had no privacy as people and horse-riders traipsed outside the window. Curtains had to remain drawn but that did not block the noise.
The rooms and bathrooms are well-appointed but dated. Bathrooms were small. Breakfast and dinner buffets spreads were decent in size, average in taste.
The staff is exemplary, Mr. Sharief at Reception was friendly and helpful, went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. They arranged a local car at reasonable fixed rates for us to see the nearby valleys, saving us the trouble of bargaining. The housekeeping staff were prompt and took care of our every need.
I would stay here again but not settle for anything less than a River View Room. The Lidder River makes up for any shortcomings of Hotel Heevan.

Amazing hotel, with A1 services , they will never give a chance to get disappointed, the services and cleaning are pretty quick, especially the housekeeper Mr. Mohd. Shafi who was really dedicated towards his work and made our stay here peaceful and delightful. He made sure everything was at its place and things were functioning correctly, he replied to us politely and explained us everything perfectly and didn’t let us down. He really served us well.

This hotel is all about its location. Large lawns, blue waters of Jhelum and snow covered mountains. Outdoor view of hotel is extremely scenic.
I wished the rooms and the inside of the hotel matched the beauty of outdoors and its location. For a property at such pristine location needs more justification in upkeep. Though the staff is very helpful and eager to support, infrastructure is crumbling and needs immediate renovation. Only rooms facing riverside are worth paying and living as the rooms on other side are small, dingy with no view, whatsoever. Even the wooden floors in corridor is worn-out and carpets have faded. For the price per room, hotel management needs to offer much better quality of stay!
Restaurant food is very good and kitchen serves good mix of Punjabi and Kashmiri food. Restaurant manager is very courteous and helpful and addresses special requirements of guests with utmost humility.
This property has great potential and would have been one of the finest hotels in past. Hope to see serious facelift in coming days!

I'm writing this from my hotel room after encountering a series of misbehavior and impolite services from the staff at Hotel Heevan. The room service guy was being extremely condescending and rude when only asked to clean the room out after our lunch.
No good hotel would have a staff like such. Take an example of Ananta Udaipur or even the Houseboats of Srinagar. The hospitality is supremely well and the staff is courteous and always had a smile on their face while going about the numerous requests of their guests. While the opposite is true for the staff at Hotel Heevan.
The buffest was a mess. The staff were standing aimlessly without offering their help to any guest, checking in on the quality of the food as well as rudely suggesting that we figure out stuff for ourselves. The attention span was shorter than a 3 year old while talking about the strange smell coming from the food. I hope we all don't get sick given the torrid times.
The only thing good about this hotel is the view. A soulless building sitting in the banks of river lidder.
Kindly take this feedback seriously and improve on it.

We visited the hotel between the 27th to the 29th of September 2022 and were provided with two river facing "deluxe rooms". It would be a shame to call these rooms deluxe by any stretch of the imagination as they were old, dilapidated, smelly, and terrible. I am posting pictures of the room with this review. We booked via MMT and the hotel informed us that these rooms were in the range of Rs16000 to Rs18000 per night. Frankly, they are not worth even Rs. 3000!
The toilet was smelly and the seat was broken in my son's room. The wall had repair marks all over, the plug points did not work, the elevation in front of the loo had a slope and my two and a half years old granddaughter slipped at least 15 times on it, if not more. The pictures will tell you the story. The bathroom was old, smelly, dilapidated and not what you would expect in a highly priced deluxe room.
The hotel is old and creaking. It doesn't have an elevator and one has to trudge up and down the floors. The location too is overrated as the river that flows under it is just a trickle and more like a large drain.
The worst part was the arrogance and the rude behaviour of the Front Office Manager. We were told by the staff that his name was Shakeel Shah. When I told him that the rooms were in a terrible state and he should have alloted us better rooms, he, instead of being polite, turned aggressive and rude. At that point, I had to tell him that he was cheating people by charging Rs 16000 to 18000 for a room which was not worth more than Rs. 3000. A very bad experience dealing with this unpleasant man.
I would rate the hotel a poor 1/5. The 1 point is for the food which was alright.
Beware and do not be swayed by the fancy pictures posted by the hotel as the reality is very different.
I would not recommend this worthless hotel to anyone. You book at your own risk.

Located at the banks of river lidder , Heevan gives u scenic views of pristine freezing river which you cannot be tired of . A foot over bridge over river is needed to be crossed to reach which seems like a gateway to some celestial abode.
Like most hotels of Kashmir , the rooms are made in rustic wooden theme . The standard rooms are small and wall facing but the river side suites are spacious with great views. Food if ordered in rooms cost 25% extra which was mentioned to us by housekeeping staff during check in.
Pehalgam market is around 20 min walk from the hotel . You can also take a smaller route by crossing the lidder view park which charges a small entry fee .
Apart from location, the best thing about hotel is the staff . Be it from security , housekeeping , restaurant or even management you will meet people with warmth, love and a smile . They make you feel the real meaning of hospitality . I specially want to mention Mr. Imtiaz Raina who made sure right from room allotment that our stay becomes memorable . You make a wish and the staff tries their level best to fulfill.

What a wonderful property. Very nice and relaxing stay
Positive:
Very warm staff, always ready to help, always on their toes to serve you in the best possible way, front desk, bell staff, house keeping (Especially Mr Hilal - What a wonderful gentleman, very calm, very polite) always ready to help with a smile. Wonderful location, right at the river bank.
A short statement for Mr Hilal - Very nice person, used to personally check all the rooms and before bedtime used to visit to check if anything is needed, is the heating proper. Sharing a photo of Mr Hilal with his permission. Such a generous person. Any guest who comes here please keep in touch with him if anything needed
Hotel is at a very picturesque location. Nice and calm atmosphere.
Negative
Hotel is bit old needs renovation.
Rest everything is just perfect.
Keep up with the good work

It was the occasion of my wife's birthday. We were upgraded to the best view room on their 3rd floor which was amazing. The best part about hotel was the view it provided (gushing river flowing by + mountains) and the outdoor seating area. That was just brilliant. Food and all was very good and had a good time munching on snacks while sitting on their outdoor areas. Housekeeping was very prompt and Mr. Hilal accommodated every small request we had. Front office afternoon shift staff was very humble and catered to all our requests.
Scope for improvement -
a. Force of water on top floor was low.
b. Heater in the room need to function properly.
Overall a great stay and value for money!

Standard rooms are comfortable, however there are no lifts here. You can check pictures of rooms for you to get a sense of the decor. Service is decent
Sometimes when rooms are not available on any portal or their website , calling directly to the hotel yields very good results 😊
