After a long research for a cosy stay with panoramic Vista and free from crowded areas, We had decided to stay at Villagio in Pahelgam for 2 nights at the end of March 2022. Before providing detailed opinions on Villagio I like to share one surprising & shocking aspect in general: Owing to huge rush of tourists in Kashmir this year , the Hotels of PAHELGAM & GULMARG have been demanding Exorbitant & Absurd Tariffs/ Prices , even higher than Taj of Mumbai / ITC Royal in Kolkata-type 5 star hotels, in the name of " sold out" tag to Extort as much money possible!!.... It's unjustified indeed, thogh a privileged few paying that gladly with Ambaniesque attitude which is really a concern for common tourists!!....From that perspective, The Villagio offers all amenities in reasonable Price along with warm hospitality. The location is just beside Pahelgam highway( opposite Lidder river) atop a cliff and about 1.5 km away from hustle bustle of Pahelgam town in a serene location. The climb up to the hotel rooms may be a little problem for weak/ aged people as it is a steep rise by walk about 50 metre from parking area ! Food was okay type and they are maintaining fine hygienic quality and friendly service. One should choose package of Room with Breakfast & dinner as nearby hotels/ restaurants are about 2 km away from the hotel...... Every room offers great views along with basic amenities. Don't expect Royal luxuries here, though the amenities provided here are bled of Kashmiri rural culture along with modern amenities. The manager, Mr OWAISH/ Owaiss Ji , is a very amiable and cooperative person as they try to satisfy guests as much as they can .The Service was sometimes too slow as we found Owing to little lack of staffs perhaps! The hotel arranged car for us for local sightseeing also. My twins kids enjoyed there a lot too. Hope to visit and stay at Villagio again.…
My firt visit to Kashmir started with my stay at THE VILLAGIO pehlgam ...came here with little expectations as this place ....but trust me the location of this hotel is mesmerizing...staff is so warm and welcoming ....they gave me a reason to come back again ....I will highly recommend this place for a vacation...Seema
We stayed here with frined and young kids. The stay was amazing. Below are some of the highlights about hotel. Location: 3 Km away from market but with a very beatiful sighting of Kashmir beauty. You can see snow capped mountain/grasssland/pine tree and river from your room. You get very soothing siund of river flow when sipping a cup of tea in garden. Room: The have made the whole hotel on village theme and every room is created with a different touch. We stayed in super deluse room which was huge. Even They made wsahbasn inside the old suitcase to give you a feeling of old kashmir look. Food: we took MAP package and they arange buffet for breakfast and dinner. Food taste was awesome with 3-4 dishes of veg and 1 dish of non-veg. Hotel staff is ready to take suggestion for dinner dishes and try theri best to accomdate your shoice of food if told in advance. The manager of Hotel Mr. Iqbal was very soft spoken and polite person and took all the care of us since begning.…
The scenic beauty, the fineness of the building and the interiors, makes your feel you are in a different world and just then when you order a plate of anything to eat then you will be pulled back to the real world, because it is only the food that we found appalling here in between the gorgeous location and the mesmerizing nature around you. The hotel staff are courteous, helpful, their hospitality is something that's needs a mention. The rooms are although well designed in a village themed interiors, may need a bit of maintenance (our bathroom was smelling, had to complain twice). We got the room in the ground floor (we asked for an upgrade, but the hotel is full) which had stunning views from the window with mountains and the river lidder flowing below (you listen to the water rumbling from your room) and i am sure the view would be even better in the upper floor. The room had a small heater, they provided heating blankets on the bed which made our stay warm and cozy. Here is my rating Location 4/5 View from the building 5/5 Hospitality of the staff 4/5 Cleanliness and maintenance 3/5 Food 2/5 …
Beautiful location, surrounded by mountains. A bit too rustic with junks lying around (village look doesn't mean scraps lying around) and will be difficult for people who needs / wants to avoid stairs. Breakfast is bit basic , however the dinner though limited is prepared well. Service is excellent and always delivered with a smile. Be sure to keep the window nets closed as flies / mosquitoes / bees may enter your room. Rooms are equipped with electric blankets. Overall highly recommended with most of the amenities available for an enjoyable stay.
