The hotel is on ladder river literally. A small portion of river crosses through the hotel ground and it's right on the bank of th r river making it an amazing place to stay at but the hotel and service is pathetic. The rooms are bad and not clean. The sheets were old and dirty, the staff was lazy and the room phone did not work so everyone we had to order something we have to go down the stairs and Call for it. Avoid this if you can.
The hotel is situated slightly off the main town, which of course is an advantage/disadvantage depending on what you are looking for. It's closer to Betaab Valley and on the way to Aru (from Betaab). The hotel grounds was pretty good. beautiful laws and seating area, a small stream flowing through the hotel and a deck just off the lawn area to see the bigger stream. The food was good. Loved the non-veg dishes and dal was too good. The rooms were big, but the balcony was not clean and maintained, which was a big disappointment. Also, it was colder inside the rooms than outside which was a surprise. The staff were courteous. However, the biggest issue was internet which was not available to the rooms and only worked in the lobby. May be one of those days in Kashmir.
Pahalgam is an extremely beautiful place and Himalaya house was a good choice. The location of the hotel is great, river Lidder runs in full flow near the hotel, infact a part of it runs from below the hotel and snow capped mountains all around. The booking and check in was good. There is lawn with table ,chairs outside the hotel. The restaurant windows also face the mountains. My room was on first floor on the right side (think it was 101) just next to the restaurant. The room had balcony facing the beautiful mountains. The room was big with a bed, heating blanket , tv ,table and 2 chairs and windows facing the mountains. The room could have been cleaner. Bathroom was clean, should keep a mat ouside bathroom . The hotel had wifi. The food (both veg and non veg) was great, both days we…
This hotel is very nice to stay. good service as well from this hotel. they will have good restaurant for dinner and lunch. very nice people are work with restaurant and hotel himalay house it's was great place
This place is a little treasure. The staff are all friendly and very knowledgeable about the area. The rooms were basic but comfortable and clean. The food was excellent. There is an area at front with large lawn and tables to eat and have a drink that is very relaxing, with the snow capped mountains almost surrounding you. We had the good fortune of going for a walk thru the pine Forrest with Aijaz a trekking guide for the area who just happens to work at the hotel. He was telling us all about the different treks etc that you can organise thru the hotel and we were really wishing that we were better informed about what was on offer re activities in this area and would have allowed more time here. Aijaz and others at the hotel are all so enthusiastic about their home that you…
