This resort is just next to the river and you can hear the sound of the river from your room and hence, the location cannot be better if you you are visiting Pahalgam.
The rooms are very well kept and the service is quick and to the point. The staff is brilliant and helps at any given time. I fell sick and Iftikar (Hotel staff) helped me with medicines and arranging the cab etc. I could not have asked for more. Additionally, the food was prepared fresh and served hot in the room. Gulzar sir (Owner of the hotel) has created great vibes in the hotel with a lot of Rumi quotes hanging everywhere in the corridors.
I am delighted to have stayed here at this property and I wish to be back here in summer. Special love to the cute lil puppy Lucky who is adorable beyond words.

Location of the property to die for. However, it's ~7KM down from the actual Pahalgam market and places of interest but it offers peace and location. The charm of the view from the room is worth it. The best thing about the place, the Manager there Mr. Shabir made our stay quite comfortable, assisting all our queries and kept no margin for any disappointment. I sincerely advise you guys if you choose this place, it won't let you down. The most important thing for me about the place was the view and it's great from the top floor rooms. I mean it. Top floor room.
We visited the place during Feb end and temperature was quite cold. The rooms had heating blankets (can't express feel). They served the food in the room at night and fckng tasty.
Also, if you got a chance to speak to Mr. Gulzar Khan, interaction with him and his views about life and journey would be a complete journey for you.
Cons: Rooms washroom. If you are an Old person, who can't climb stairs then my suggestion goes for other property [Heeaven pahalgam].
Suggestions to the owner: make the interior of all rooms the same as top floor rooms.

Adit Ji Please forgive me for the late respond, due covid all hotels across India were shut down. Internet in Kashmir was blocked for 7 months. Thus I was unable to respond your beautiful review. I stayed at the Fresh Water Resort in Pahalgam during my Kashmir trip last month. The website photos looked promising but I wasn’t sure if the property for real would be as nice. However, to my surprise, the property is even more beautiful than the photos. The rooms are comfortable, clean and cosy, while the sprawling lush lawn is absolutely stunning and laden with all kinds of exotic flowers one could imagine. The river flows right in front of the lawn and it’s the perfect spot for a staycation, a family vacation, a getaway for couples or even for solo travellers looking to relax and soak up nature. There’s also a beautiful picnic arrangement in the lawns which was my personal favourite where I’ve spent hours working or reading and this is one of my most cherished memories of this trip. This property is owned by a gentleman named Mr. Gulzar Khan (Gulzar uncle for me now) who’s the most gracious host with plenty of fascinating stories. He makes it a point to spend time with his guests and ensures they’re feeling at home. The staff including the manager (and even the very shy and forever smiling Maali bhaiya) is extremely friendly and nice and will go an extra mile to make you comfortable. We had initially booked this property for two nights as we were not too sure if we’d want to stay on, but ended up staying there for 5 nights extending the trip by a good measure. This resort is everything you’re looking for in terms of nature, comfort, good food, great hospitality and affordability. I’d strongly recommend it to anyone seeking a peaceful and beautiful stay!
PS- It's very close to the rafting point so the location is a big added advantage.

We stayed at this resort on 12th and 13th September for 2 nights. To describe our experience as pathetic would be an understatement. It is a dilapidated property with most of furnitures and fixtures non functional. Only good thing is the view that too if you get a riverside room on upper floors by paying an exorbitant price. Even the basic amenities are provided after literally begging and the food served hardly has any options. There are loose tiles and there is every possibility of hurting yourself while opening the cupboards etc which do not even have space to hang your clothes or store your valuables as there is no safe This property does not deserve even a 1 star rating and MMT aggressively promotes this property just because they have booked it for the entire year on contract. To summarise I would not recommend this property to any one. Choose it at your own peril.

Location of Resort is very good , Situated next to river liddar , having lush green garden
Pahalagam is around 14 Km from this place and it taken hardly 25 min to reach pahalagam city centre.
Room are cozy and comfortable with all basic amenities. Big sized room with an extra Bed and Sofa
Food is priced very reasonable and good in taste.
Staffs are very courteous and helpful specially General Manager Mr Shabbir.
Had a very pleasant stay at this hotel.

Heard about this place from a friend and the location seemed perfect. It is located near the rafting point in Movera area, 11-12kms below Pahalgam. The place is a perfect relaxation property with an amazing room size. Our room had a capacity for 3-4 people easily along with an LPG/electric operated room heater and blanket heater as well. The service and staff are very helpful and courteous, they will fulfil all your requests even if it is late at night. They also arranged a sweet candle light dinner for us in their restaurant. The food is very tasty, we especially liked the pakoras, masala tea, Kashmir Dum Aloo, Chicken Yakhni and phirni. The Lidder river runs right beside the property, giving you a good feel of being close to nature. It is a perfect place to spend a couple of days with family or partner. The cozy vibes are all worth it.

We had made a booking for a suite room for 2nights and even paid advance towards it as per their booking policy. On the day of the check-in the owner Mr. Khan sends us an email at 10am as below :
“Hi Please note due electric short circuit 1 of room is not functional, we regret we are not able to accommodate you for today. Please look for some other hotel for tonight, we will get the room ready for tomorrow for you, or refund your advance. regards khan.
Absolutely unfair to deal with this treatment…as tourist to find another accommodation on the same day specially during season time in Kashmir. Although the staff gave us an option of another hotel nearby whoes rooms were unhygienic and the hotel felt unsafe even if we were to pay half the price for the night! I completely understand that sometimes uncertain events occur(although i dont think it was true because the staff even denied showing us the room) but sending such an email and asking us to find another stay on the same day is absolutely horrible towards tourists who are looking forward to what they have paid and booked for.
I do not recommend this hotel for trust factors. They probably took double bookings for the same day and convinently shoo’ed us by repaying us our advance and denying us to even view the suite room. Whats the point of taking advance when they cant even secure our room bookings! Do not fall for sweet talks.

The resort is just awesome.. Its just along the river lidder goes above your expectations. We had two suite rooms one having view of river and snow clad mountains, other have only mountain views.(room tip: rivht side suite on the top floor) Rooms were neat and cosy. Have hot water facility along electric blankets and room heaters. Have a very well maintained lawn for kids to run around and family to sit and soak in some sun . The staff is warm and cordial. Special mention to the manager Mr Khan who is soft spoken gentleman willing to help his guests in and outside the resort. Food was good small suggestion to include more of local cuisines in the menu. Overall memorable stay..

We have been there for couple of nights.we enjoyed a lot the best experience was having snacks on riverside. Fresh air and the musical sound of water give one feel like being in heaven. The housekeeping staff was so friendly that they're one the toe to serve you through out the clock. I recommend this hotel. Thanks to the owner.

Not a great experience. The place is quite rundown and does not look like the pictures at all. The garden as others have said is indeed beautiful and calm. But the rooms are quite shabby and have seen better days. Most of the rooms do not have a AC, so in hotter months like Aug Sep it gets quite uncomfortable. Our room did not have any hand towel and when requested for it, they questioned why do we need it. They did send it later, but why should any guest need to ask and explain their request. Food is very average and hardly any options available. They have an elaborate menu, but when requested they are out of most of the things. Breakfast buffet was very disappointing. The staff is quite unhelpful and unlike what others have said, with us they did not cooperate at all. Writing this review since the price does not justify the services. It is a lodge with the price range of a budget hotel.

Shuttle service is not provided by any of the properties in that part of Pahalgam .
The main market is good 10 kms away from the FWR .
The approaching road to FWR is a gravel one .
One should keep the vehicle used fro reaching Pahalgam , because going to nearby excursions will be charged a lot by local taxi provider .
Since everything is syndicated and controlled through local taxi unions , no property owner provides a shuttle service , infact they can't as it might attract some local trouble for them .
I will strongly recommend FWR for the stay, the gentleman who owns and runs this property, Gulzar Saab, is going to be delight to have a conversation with . He is global citizen with very good sense of hospitality.
This is not a five star/luxury resort, but please expect to take back some best memories form here
Please note due to global warming, Kashmir is going through dry spell, we are not sure, if we get any snow fall as we used to get around Christmas. Yes at Pahalgam it does snow, & kids can play . However for major winter sports like skiing,is mainly held in Gulmarg.
Fresh water resort does not provide any travel or transport services, & does not have any other branches.Due to an agreement between hotel’s & local transport providers, all transport is to be used from our local Taxi stand. They provide all types of cars from budget best. Thier price list is set by the local Govt agency.
There are more places to choose from in the Pahalgam area.
