How on earth did this place get this award when many travellers arrived there to be told they’d been OVERBOOKED…..,? It happened to us and like many others our holiday was ruined I would NEVER return to this place and we have been coming here for many years. We were treated appallingly by the owners.

The wonderful Marianna what can I say? .... This was a first mum and son holiday abroad and with a 12 year old in tow I didn't know that to expect. I couldn't be more welcomed by them all, for a start it's a family ran hotel and that alone adds to the unique decadent ambience surrounding the hotel. Check in easy, cocktails served amazing. The lovely lady who ran it too (cannot remember her name) made sure my 12 year old didn't suffer with earache as she sorted it swiftly cannot thank her enough and Stella greeted us every morning with her infectious smile. Lucas wants to come back that's a result

Family run hotel Great stay in one bedroom apartment. Very clean and comfortable. Lovely cleaners too. Great snack bar for breakfast, drinks and snacks rur by Stella and Maria 2. Very friendly. Reception managed by the very efficient Maria 1. Vasillis manned the bar which opened in evenings. Very potent and quality cocktails. Pool welcoming and never packed. Close to supermarket, main strip and beach. Quiet accommodation. Would I stay again...YES...booked for October 2024...

Well, better late than never - I meant to write this review soon after coming home after holidaying here in May 2023. Life gets in the way though and you forget. So, here is the review. We hadn't been abroad for 7 years since we had our daughter, so this was our first family holiday since we had her. We were greeted by Maria on arrival, who was lovely. She directed us to our room (305) and was happy with it. The room setup was a bit weird as the single bed was in the kitchen as soon as you went through the door, but we got used to it. Also there is no pool view from the balcony, all main room doors are facing the pool, again, unusual, but I did like this too. The pool area seemed pretty cramped with sunbeds around the pool, but that couldn't be helped. The main problem was the people using them that rarely left a gap for people to walk past. The pools were excellent though, very clean, as was all the pool area. The pool bar was very friendly too. In the evening the main bar of the hotel opened up and they did the best cocktails on Tingaki by far, and were reasonably priced. Vasillis was the man making them, wow! Ones on the strip were nowhere near as good. As it's a self catering accommodation, we ate every main meal out and had some brilliant meals. As this is a review about the Marianna I won't go into too much detail on these, but my favourite restaurant of the ones we tried was Ikaros and this was only a 5 minute walk from the apartment. We also have a special mention for Alykes restaurant and this is a must on an evening for anyone wanting a beautiful view of the sunset. If we had one complaint though it would be the noise from the bar. On our last night, typically when you need an early night, the singing from some lairy idiot in the bar was going on until at least 2am. We were told on arrival that music would be done on an evening by 1am, no later. So despite going to bed at 10pm ready to be up early to go home, we still didn't get to sleep until after 2am. If we did return here I think we would need a room further from the bar, and earplugs! We have already booked to go to Zante 2024, but will strongly consider Tingaki at the Marianna again in the future due to how much we enjoyed this holiday. And as it was our first holiday with our daughter it will always remain special.

Turn up at this hotel late at night to find they double booked us sent us to a filthy residential area not fit for purpose. Waisted 3 days of our holiday waiting to get our room sorted. When speaking with over guess they told us they do this all the time. When we final got allocated a room we had to sit with our bags waiting all day while they cleaned it . Don’t waste your money you will be very disappointed. Picture below of the filthy place they sent us with dirty sheets .. dried up food . Chair sellotaped by the leg!! Wet toilets rolls and the smell was horrendous.

On arrival at this hotel at 11pm we were informed that there was a computer problem and our room had been double booked, the receptionist however said that they had found us another hotel which was the same distance to everythin but that we could come back in two days as there would be a room available. We were put in a taxi and taken to a hotel which was 10 minutes by taxi or a 25 minute walk along an unlit road with no footpath to the resort centre. As it was late and having travelled over 4 hours we decided to go along with it as we had no choice. Two days after arriving at our temporary hotel (The Corali Hotel .this hotel was excellent) we asked the receptionist to contact The Marianna to see if it was ok to return, she was told that our room was ready and we could go back.We arrived back at Marianna at about 11am to be met by the receptionist who told us there had been a death at the hotel and she was trying to find us somewhere else to stay. After I complained about this she went into some rubbish about the fires in Greece messing up the computer booking system which I felt was highly unlikely as there were no fires attributed to Kos!!!.The receptionist told us should relax by the pool and she would sort us with somewhere to stay.My wife and I attempted to relax but found this completely impossible as we didn't know where we would be sleeping that night. Just after 1 I went to speak to the receptionist who stated that she was finding it hard to get somewhere , at no point was I offered an apology or even refreshments. At about 2 pm the receptionist called me to the reception area and stated that had found us somewhere to stay but it would only be for 2 nights and we would then need to return for the remainder of our stay, I informed her that this was completely unacceptable and she had to find us somewhere for the remainder of our holiday. Finally around 5 pm we were for she had found somewhere and we were taken to the Tigaki Star which was also excellent.Despite losing a complete day of our holiday again no apology was forthcoming. I On arrival back in the UK I contacted my holiday provider Love Holidays to register a complaint, despite numerous attempts by Love Holidays the owners of The Marianna Hotel have refused to answer emails in relation to my complaint. Shoddy management and disgusting customer services.AVOID!!!!!

Well the moment I arrived the staff welcome me, nothing was too hard for them. They gave me 320 room number, it was the best, I had the sun on the balcony till 630pm. The room itself was OK. No thrills here. You pay for what you get here. Will be booking up again soon

After reading previous posts of overbooking I was very worried. Arrived at hotel spent 10 mins looking for someone in reception to be shown a bit of paper with some names on without ours on . Was told overbooked, I said well I’m here first (sorry who came after us ) I want the room I booked . She said it wasn’t her department so rung someone then we got given a room . Very basic room but clean , shower is tiny . Staff friendly apart from old girl who scowls at you as if she doesn’t want you there . Looks as there are old regulars there and I mean old .

Had an amazing 3 weeks yet again at the Marianna, as we did in June, we go back year after year (twice sometimes Three times) the Marianna Hotel has everything we need for our holiday, the staff are the best, always make time for you and nothing is to much trouble. Rooms are cleaned daily (except Sunday) but we all need a day off. The rooms are basic but has everything we need, we don't cook in our room (we are on holiday) but if we were to it has what we need, yes the shower is basic and feels a bit on the small side, but we just put the curtain over the pole and its absolutely fine. I just want to say that the Marianna Hotel is a 3 star NOT a 4 or 5 star. Just a few things I would like to point out regarding some reviews, yes children play in the pool and splash as do adults, the Marianna Hotel does Not have a basement or dungeons, it has a ground floor, so yes your views are limited, yes older people do holiday at the Marianna as do younger people and yes we (the older people) do make noise and that's because we are enjoying our holiday. Maria (the receptionist) is one of the nicest people I have met, she always has a smile for her guests, Stella's breakfast is just perfect to set you up for the day, and Vasillis cocktails are perfect to end your day, Tirbouson cocktail bar (part of the Marianna) is a great place to spend your evening, amazing cocktails and great music, if you fancy a bit of dance there's a dance floor (we love a bit of dance) or you can sit out under the stars and relax. We all have our opinions and likes and dislikes, we love the Marianna Hotel and all the staff.
