Quiet, comfortable, clean & serene.

This place was lovely for our 6 night stay. Denise, our host was very kind and helpful as were Obi and Jajan. (her team)

They have two beautiful resident cats, whom, if you love cats as much as we do, will gladly take your hugs and caresses
& if not, they will just do their thing.

You can do yoga under the roof/studio so when it rains you'll stay dry during the rainy season.

And if you want to see turtles then you would'nt haven't to walk further than 500m to the actual "Turtle Spot"

Breakfast is amazing and provided you tell the staff at what time you'd like it, will arrive on time, every time.

Namaste Denise, Obi and Jajan🙏🇮🇩

Great location. Serene garden surroundings (even when so close to the main road), comfy bed, nice private front porch, cool deco, good wifi, air conditioning, clean, the nicest and most helpful staff (including the owner, Denise), and the absolute best breakfast (highlight of my days).
Denise was so helpful and accommodating - I extended my stay several times. She made the best gluten-free, vegan pancakes every morning for me and great coffee. I honestly never wanted to leave. Her and her staff will take good care of you. As a single female traveller, it was nice to always feel safe and prioritized there. There was someone on the premise 24/7, always quick message responses, and Denise even personally escorted me to the boat launch to help me catch my boat to my next destination.
Super good value for money. Don’t hesitate, book now before its all booked up.
Thanks so much Denise. I really hope I’ll be back soon!

Had a great experience here. Lots of friendly cats and staff that can’t do enough for you. The owner is really kind making sure we had everything we needed and the price was good value - it included a lovely breakfast. Great location next to everything going on but quiet enough to sleep at a decent hour. Good AC and hot water - would definitely recommend.

My partner and I stayed at Gili Nyepi for 6 nights and to be honest, could stay longer! The owner Denise is lovely, she made us feel very comfortable and relaxed, gave us lots of tips for better discovering the island. Obi and Jajan (the staff) were also super sweet and organized and they were always there for us ready to help if we needed anything. The beds are comfortable and breakfast is yummy! Also the place itself is super nice, so many beautiful plants in there, it’s off the busy street but still super close to walk. And if you’re an animal lover, you’ll like seeing two adorable cats there from time to time :)

Thank you Denise, Obi and Jajan! I wish you all the best for the future :)

Gili nyepi is a beautiful homestay very conveniently located so near to the harbour and many facilities around the place. Despite a busy area, it feels like Gili Nyepi is a quiet secluded place especially because of the greenery and beautifully maintained garden and trees engulfing each of the 4 rooms. Rooms and bathrooms are clean and well maintained and fully functional with AC and hot shower. Breakfast was great too.
The best part about this place is Denise and her staff. Her warm and sweet hospitality made us feel right at home. She had been extremely responsive right from the beginning when I was considering and enquiring about her place. Small details like welcome board with personalised drawings and drawings on the final receipt were so nice of Denise which she does for all her guests out of genuine interest in her work and passion for hospitality. She even got our check-in for the ferry/speedboat done so that its easier for us and we don't have to rush before leaving. She explained the Gili Trawangan map with great suggestions for activities and restaurants and helped us plan. Her staff were all very well trained, available anytime, extremely helpful, professional and friendly at the same time....all of these reflecting Denise's hospitality and an extension of her personality and work.
I'm probably missing out some other details here, but I cannot think of a better place for the great value for money, location and experiencing the lovely and home like hospitality with clean and comfortable rooms. Highly recommended.

Unusual review perhaps but I have never stopped at Gili Nyepi.
I enquired if they had availability, at short notice during the peak seaon, unfortunately not, but I then received lots of advice from Denise about alternative accommodation and an offer to 'look after our luggage whilst we had a look around to find somewhere else'.
As they obviously had nothing to gain from any correspondence I thought the 3 emails with advice and suggestions was really special.
Anyone who takes this amount of care with a 'non-customer' will certainly look after their guests I am sure.
many thanks
John

Just like we said. It was overpriced and not actually that great for a number one place on trip advisor.

My boyfriend and I booked 4 nights at Gili Nyepi in March 2014. When we found the place we had to contact the owner directly to find a price. So we did. 45$ a night for a #1 rated trip advisor place??? We were SO excited!!

Yet were disappointed when we got there.

Denise was very nice about helping us arrange a transfer/boat from the Lombok airport. (Muhammed was such a cute old man!). Based on other reviews Denise was the person to meet and she would make the stay awesome. We never did get the opportunity to meet her unfortunately. The stay was friendly for the most part, they brought us breakfast to our patio. Breakfast was decent basic but a good start to the day.

The room: relatively clean, the bug net on the canopy of the bed....was pretty gross. Two words: Mysterious stains. Waking up at 5:00am (sharp!) from the singing/praying from the masque to look up and see stains...just made it uncomfortable. Can only imagine the germs in the room too...as there was no soap given at all. Not even hand soap for after bathroom use! Cold showers and the floor isn't graded properly so you have to squeegee the floor if you don't want your bathroom to become a small lake after showering. They advertise that it's a "wifi resort" at the entrance, but we were unable to connect to the wifi for longer than 5 minutes.

I wish we would have paid less for this place then we would have given it a better rating. After our first 2 nights there we went on trip advisor in search of a new place to stay. (TONS of places and easy to find one just walking around then checking the reviews on TA). We found Gili Nyepi was available...for 21$/night, less than half of what we were paying!!!!!

We ended up switching to a way nicer place (Vila Ombak). For an extra 40-50$ a night you get an AMAZING resort. Stay on the "new" side. You get a HUUUUUGE free breakfast. If it's your first time in Asia a good breakfast where you can pick and choose is welcomed. Not to mention the two pools, swim up bars, hot showers, great rooms and beach front chairs!

Anyways long story short about Gili Nyepi:
It wasn't great and I wouldn't stay there again. Yet if you want to give it a chance by all means! DONT pay more that 20-MAX 25$ a night...you can get the same on Gili T for less.

Response from Denise C, Owner at Gili Nyepi
Responded 29 Mar 2014
DearTraveler3147 Thank you for your taking the time to write us a review. We were disappointed to learn that you were disappointed with you stay at Gili Nyepi. I am sorry that I did not meet you personally but at the time of your stay I was away in Ubud on my Yoga teacher training course as we will very soon be opening a Yoga studio at Gili Nyepi. Before your stay we did exchange many emails and I am always very happy to assist our guests with booking transport or any other questions they may have about Trawangan before they come. We have had Muhammed as our driver in Lombok for a long time and I am glad you also appreciated his services. We are also happy to read that our staff were friendly and that you enjoyed our breakfast. We try very hard to keep our rooms always very clean and apologize that you found the mosquito net unsatisfactory. My husband Arjan did check this straight away when we read your review and changed it to be sure all our rooms are in perfect condition for our guests. Had you reported your concerns at the time we would have been very happy to have changed the net immediately. We have noted your comments regarding providing soap and this is now in all our bathrooms. Our showers are cold water, we have never advertised anything else and this was made clear in our correspondence before you booked the room. We apologize the Wifi was not consistent at the time of your stay. This unfortunately can be an island wide issue , but we do have backup possibilities and again I will make sure the staff also includes this information in the welcome talk for guests. Regarding the call to prayer from the Mosque in the village; the local population of Gili Trawangan is mainly Muslim and the call to prayer is part of local culture and occurs 5 times a day for a short time only. My main concern about your review is the issue of our pricing. At Gili Nyepi we quote our rates in Indonesian Rupiah by email and the rate you paid was the internet and walk in rate for low season this year. No one else pays less and nowhere else was the rate advertised as lower so I am not sure where your information about rooms available at half the rate you paid came from. Tripadvisor do not give room rate information. We are often complimented by our guests that our rooms offer excellent value for money and our Trip Advisor reviews reflect this. We are happy that you found a place that liked for the extra time of your trip to Trawangan but would like to point out that Villa Ombak is a large resort and therefore a different type of accommodation and style of holiday and their basic rooms are currently 3 times more expensive than a room at Gili Nyepi which is a small family run B&B with personal service with lots of smiles! We are here to ensure that guests who stay with us have a pleasant experience when visiting Gili Trawangan. We will continue to improve our service and environment so that future guests can also have an enjoyable experience. Denise

I don't even know where to start. You arrive to smiling faces and a warm welcome. From the start it has been an amazing experience. Denise and the staff are brilliant. Denise sat down and explained everything about the island.

The rooms is very spacious, clean and homey. Home from home. The villas are set in a beautiful garden. Very secure there is always someone on sight to help you. You can also rent bikes for 50000R. The breakfast was really good, you can have eggs any way you like, a fruit platter and pancakes, with toast if you like.

The island itself is stunning, you can snorkel, cycle around the island in about an hour and there are many bars and restaurants.

I recommend this place 100%. We shall be returning. Thankyou very much for a wonderful stay! ❤️

We booked Gili Nyepi last minute and we are so happy there was a room available. We enjoyed our stay so much we even extended it by a day. The grounds and room are beautiful but the best part about this place is the owner and staff. The owner and staff really go out of their way to make your stay pleasant. Upon arrival the owner took time to sit down with us to explain the island and things to do, where to eat, etc. The staff are always smiling and polite. This place is in a good location too. Far enough away from all the busy streets and loud bar music but only a short walk away to Gili Ts main road. I highly recommend staying here.

I came here with a friend without booking. First impression: nice and clean b&b. The owner was a very lovely &bwarm hearted lady. She sat with us when we just came for +/- 10 mins to explain every little details about the island; VERY HELPFUL!

I had 2 friends who stayed at a homestay nearby and the owner let them to swing by anytime for a coffee/tea. And oh, great breakfast!

Hi is there a fridge and if yes a supplement to settle. . Dear mr Mrs Adventure. . Google translates your question like this. We are happy to answer. We have a communal fridge. We dont choose to have a fridge in every room(people normally use it to cool 1waterbottle) we do care about the environment.we dont want to waist so much electric .we hope you agree. our guests need until now only a fridge to share amongst our 4 rooms . Please tell what we need to understand about the second part of your question. The last part of your question i do not understand unfortunately Thank you so much .sincerely Denise Gili Nyepi.
