If you like walking, shopping, eating, people watching, central location, spacious hotel room than look no further- This place is very nice AND FOR THE PRICE! We looked at different hotels that were also nice but much more expensive. This has what you need and close to the taxi pick up, it's just great!
Went here for my birthday. Was just perfect. Romantic....good service...good drinks...good music. Excellent view. Will be back. And will recommend to other people aswell. Loved every minute service was excellent.
This place was obviously old but very well updated and appointed. Some might call it quaint. The hotel staff was very accommodating, professional and pleasant, and for the most part spoke English well which made communication less of a challenge. We had a booking discrepancy which necessitated a larger room, fortunately we were able to move into the two bed premier unit which by my standards was very nice. The AC cooled the room off exceptionally well, the windows and balcony doors were all new with double insulated panes and sound trim insulation. The balcony overlooked the square which tended to be noisy throughout the night but not so much that sleep could not be attained. Obviously this facility has no control of people in the square. The rest of the room touted a nicely decorated and well designed living space, and a ceiling fan that could really move some air, the bathroom was newly redesigned and also very nice. Plenty of hot water, not that we needed it in this summer 2022 heat wave. Parking was a challenge, we rented a car when we arrived and street parking was nearly impossible. Lot parking was 38e/night. The upside is with a receipt the hotel reimbursed that expense which was a pleasant discovery. Would definitely stay here again. I had zero concerns or complaints about this hotel. Side note for other Americans contemplating to rent a car or not. I suggest that you do. Parking, though not convenient but reimbursed makes it worth it and getting around the island via one of maybe three taxis would be crazy expensive and not worth the time standing around wasting. Driving is easy after you realize how the roads are laid out IE mostly one ways, the triangles on the road mean you yield at that intersection AND pedestrians ALWAYS have the right of way. Scooters and motorcycles will pass you up on the left and right so just keep an eye out. Once out of downtown Ibiza driving is much more relaxing and easy, the rest of the island is an easy and relatively care free cruise. The sunset at Cafe Del Mar is greeted with cheers nightly and an accompanying beat from the club. I would like to come back here again for a longer stay. A full month would suffice.…
We had a nice one night stay at this hotel located conveniently for the marina and old town in Ibiza. At the moment the car park is not available so we parked about 400 metres away in a large open air car park. It is a bit tricky arriving with luggage as there are signs saying only authorised vehicles can go down the road near the hotel - we pulled over and then were helped to unload the luggage. We had one of the premium rooms which was spacious and nicely decorated. It overlooked the square so was noisy in the evening and first thing in the morning when the cleaning vans came onto the square. Breakfast was included in our rate but you are given a 25 euro allowance which is an odd way of doing it especially when there is only a limited choice. We ate at Sabbaba which was okay - there are lots of restaurants nearby. Overall this was a nice place to stay to see the old town but the room rate was very high in comparison with some of the resort hotels we stayed at.…
Loved it here. Only stayed one night but the staff were amazing, service top class, Breakfast in the bar was a bit pricey but well worth it, and the rooms - wow. Everything just top quality - the sheets, bedding, furniture, bathroom, mattress, and actual king size bed, not 2 single beds shoved together (which is my absolute pet hate). The soaps/ moisturisers etc really top quality, can’t remember the brand but huge bottles of deliciousness! I’d have loved a bath but the shower was huge and amazing. Really liked this hotel and will be back.
The ground-floor bar was all I saw of the Hôtel Montesol on this visit. It had a helpful bar manager that day, and good 'waiting staff'. However the hôtel is very much under new ownership, and the snack menu, drinks and toilets are quite different from our previous happy memories. We were sitting on the wide side-walk, which has always been a joy. The new owners, I was told, are French investors with the less than inspiring title "Experimental Group". Check out the naming of the toilets for the downstairs bar; you might, like me, chose the wrong door!
Hard to fault the hotel. They worked hard for us, the food was terrific, decent bar, central location, front desk was very professional. The roof top bar was populated with beautiful people. The beats were Balearic. Sadly it rained which meant we had too much room time. But I would recommend.
The worst experience in our life in a hotel and the staff instead to try to solve the problem they lie to us, starting from the hotel director, Mr. Francisco Alcoba Cruz and Barbara Ghelfi, the reservation manager. Here the facts: we reserved one night on the 22nd of October 2021 with wallet parking and that night it was a very severe storm and our car was left under water. They hotel promise to pay the costs, they have an insurance as well the garage where they park the car, but till now, March 2022, they only answer once to apologize, to say they will take care, but they did nothing and don't reply at all. The same Booking.com We were extremely lucky to loose only 500€ from our insurance which fix the car and had to walk for 2 weeks to buy groceries meanwhile. This is not what suppose to be a 5* hotel service. Btw, the only 5* impression you get is the beautiful historic facade, because inside, despite the nice modern rooms, the hotel is more a popular place with a noisy cafeteria next to the reception which smell terrible of onions and food. Also the entrance looks like a kitchen staff door and the main one is on the pedestrian corner where you are not allowed to drive, but you may end up because of lack of signs.…
I’ve been living in ibiza for many year and Montesol is probably an icon. Until last year was the coolest place to have a drink at the lobby in the best ibiza square . We’ve been last august for a dinner and I couldn’t even understand where I was. Terrible, the lobby doesn’t have a soul nothing at all. Please don’t keep ruining that place. Ps food was so little that after dinner we had to go in another restaurant.
My husband and I have been guests of the Hotel Montesol 3 times before and were very excited to come back and stay for the entire month of November this year. Seeing the horrible way in which the lobby, bar and restaurant areas have been refurbished was a true SHOCK. When the hotel was part of the Curio Collection Hilton these areas were stylish and funky, spacious, and comfortable. A minimal update would have been enough to keep the Hotel attractive and functional for the years to come. Unfortunately, the new design is so ugly that is impossible to determine its ‘style’. It seems a cheap beach club in which a random, ugly mix of colors, materials and styles have been used; it is totally unsuitable to the location of the hotel and to a 4 stars category. Some elements, such as the floor and the soft fabric used to decorate the chairs armrest are particularly unpleasant. There is absolutely no space in the reception area and no lounge area anymore, very impractical. The ground floor bathroom deserves a special mention: I have never seen a more dysfunctional, dark, cheap, and dirty looking bathroom in a 4 stars hotel! Fortunately, the rooms have not changed (yet) and so they are still very nice and comfortable; they have beautiful comfy beds and great bathrooms (for how long?); actually, the only positive change is that the quality of the toiletries in the bathroom has improved. Another thing that hasn’t changed is the KINDNESS AND PROFESSIONALISM OF THE ENTIRE STAFF, front-office, bar staff and housekeepers. We would like to thank Elena at the front desk, who already looked after us previously, she is a star - thank you so much Elena! Thank you to Pasquale, Louis, Marco, and all bar staff too. We had great time thanks to you all. If the Hotel Montesol doesn’t change back to a more suitable and stylish style which should be expected from a 4 stars hotel, we are not sure we will ever come back. It’s very sad to say that as consequence of a shocking refurbishment the Grand Hotel Montesol has lost its ‘Grand’. We would like to suggest to Experimental Group to carefully consider plans to refurbish the hotel rooms – please don’t keep destroying an icon of Ibiza.…
