What a pleasure to stay here. Family run, small hotel, where no one could do enough for you. Hotel Clean and room cleaned daily. Room was directly over looking the pool and with a sea view - perfect. Swimming pool, although a little cold was spotless. Breakfast was basic but plenty of it and fresh. Short stroll across the rod to the beach and a 5 minute walk into town. Food served between 10am and 5pm and the bar stayed open until 1am. Could not fault this hotel and will certainly be returning.
This was our second stay at Melidron and can honestly say we would not want to stay anywhere else in Skala! The welcome at reception by Wendy was a pleasure, she is very friendly and helpful. She takes you too your room and explains everything/ AC , key card ect and advises times for breakfast. The rooms are clean and ours was spacious and nice and cool with the AC. The pool is a nice size and has a bar which is run by Theo, Alex and Penelope, They are really friendly and you wont wait for a cold beer. The food is also really nice and the menu is well varied for lunchtime. Breakfast is served by Kremena , she is so nice and friendly and she was so kind to our young daughters, she wrapped up cake for them when we did a boat trip and also when we left for the journey home. The hotel is perfectly positioned being close to the beach and a short walk into town where all the main restaurants and bars are . Melidron is so good there are a lot of repeat customers. We met some people who were there at the same time as us in 2018 who we recognised and they did us which was nice. We would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Skala and want a really nice clean, friendly hotel.…
We had a fantastic stay at the Melidron Hotel in Kefalonia. It's a family run, cosy and friendly hotel- and the staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome. They all make an effort to get to know your name, and are so accommodating. I was in contact with Wendy before we arrived to arrange hotel transfers, which she was only too happy to help with. It was our first time in Kefalonia, and Wendy was great giving tips on where to visit and what to do. Skala Beach is only around the corner from the hotel, and there was never an issue getting space. The hotel also has a lovely outside pool with a lovely view looking down on the beach. Our 5 year old loved the pool- it caters for both adults and children. Theo and his dad run the bar, and always made a point of remembering your order. It was great to have somewhere to chill out, after going out for dinner in the evenings. The rooms were lovely and spacious, and were cleaned everyday. I will definately be recommending the Melidron to family and friends- our stay was amazing. We didn't want to come home! Thanks to everyone at the Melidron for making us feel so welcome.…
I’ve been here with my gf and my son. The location is perfect being just in front one of the best beach of the island. The center of the small town is just 5 min walking. I want to say thanks to all the staff but especially to Penelope who has been fantastic with my 3 yrs old son. The room had the balcony and the size was enough for 3 people. There is a swimming pool with a bar where you can get a nice drink after a day at the beach. The only down side ,being Italian ,is the fact that the only coffe in the breakfast is americano. I would have love an espresso or a cappuccino.
Melidron exceeded our expectations in every respect. The accessibility to the beach (2 min walk) and the village centre (5-10 min walk), the friendliness of all the staff, a small but beautiful swimming pool, the great poolside bar with great cocktails and ICY COLD BEER served by friendly staff. The room is SPACIOUS and a simple breakfast by the pool is relaxing. We did enjoy interacting with locals, of course, but I must say it was great to be looked after by a friendly and efficient Wendy at the front office. Our flight was 11 pm to Stanstead and the hotel was (understandably) full - no problem - we could use the hotel facility as normal, towels provided, and Wendy organised a shower room for us before dinner time. Such attention to detail and high quality of customer service was what made this hotel something special. Lots of guests seemed to be repeaters too - and even they were friendly!! Skala proved to be a great base for our family with 2 teenagers. They were happy with the location of the hotel as they could roam around the village/beach freely by themselves. The main Skala beach was a surprise too - despite being popular and sometimes described as 'over crowded', the water was crystal clear with a lot of fish! Such a wonderful stay. Thanks, Melidron, Wendy and the team. We will be back!!…
Beautiful hotel. All the staff are so friendly and can’t do enough for you. Spotlessly clean, lovely big rooms. Well stocked bar where they make great cocktails. Safe atmosphere for lone travellers. Beautiful infinity pool, great for cooling down in these really hot days. Close to the beach and the amenities of Skala.
I have stayed in many Hotels in Kefalonia and can honestly say the Melidron Hotel was exceptional both in location and ambiance, but also has an air of tranquillity that feels like a luxury boutique Hotel of a much higher star rating! Our room was on the first floor, it was very large, absolutely spotlessly clean, very comfortable mattresses, efficient air con and beautiful power shower, the balcony with sea views was large, the breakfast was of a very high standard, but we were mostly impressed with the welcoming staff, absolutely nothing was too much trouble, Wendy on reception was so friendly and attentive, Theo was absolutely charming at the bar and makes the most delicious cocktails! The swimming pool was amazing, the gardens so well tended, I would highly recommend this Hotel for a holiday in Scala and can honestly not fault anything at all, I hope to most definitely return to this beautiful family run hotel in the future, Thank you so much!…
First time to Skala and to Kefalonia and we definitely chose the right hotel and resort. Wendy organised a taxi from the airport and the friendliest cab driver ever, Costas, picked us up and we had a fabulous conversation all the way to Skala. Arriving at the Melidron Wendy was waiting on the steps to greet us and to show us to our room. The rooms are traditional Greek style and we had one of the smaller ground floor ones in a separate building, however we are rarely in our room - everything was more than adequate for our needs. The bed was super comfortable and was made each day and room cleaned. We were not worried about Breakfast but it was included - fairly basic but again more than adequate and delivered with a smile. Bar was always manned by again a lovely team who are part of the family that own this hotel. Pool area and gardens lovely and it is set back from the road, so wonderfully peaceful and we slept well (quiet air conditioning also helped!) . Zeffie and her team are a credit to her and this is the first time I have booked independently and we were well looked after. A small but beautiful little gem of a hotel with all of the residents super friendly, also making it one of the most pleasant stays we have ever had in a hotel as we normally go for apartments. We will be back !…
Wonderful stay on a beautiful island. Lovely family run hotel, stones throw away from sand/shingle beach, short stroll to town with plenty of great tavernas. Room larger than expected and cleaned every day. Free air con and safe which was a nice touch. Shower snug but worked well. Breakfast simple, prepared well and lovely cake everyday. One suggestion would be to offer a milk alternative Soya, Oat but was easily obtained from supermarket 2 mins walk from hotel. Plenty of sun beds available. The staff really look after you and remember you by name! Nothing is to much trouble. Wendy on hand to offer recommendations on where to visit or eat. A special mention to Aris we enjoyed our evening night cap chats with him. This hotel has many repeat visitor and we can see why. We are all ready planning our return next year. Kefalonia has stolen our hearts.…
We booked this, our first stay, at the Melidron way back in 2019 for our holiday in June 2020, then changed to 2021 and finally were able to visit in June 2022 - all due to Covid and the various travel restrictions in place. As we paid in full at the time of booking, the hotel owners were absolutely fantastic, so understanding and couldn't have been more helpful in changing the dates several times, we really couldn't have asked for more. So just back from having a really great time. The hotel is small and extremely friendly, spotlessly clean, great pool, plenty of sunbeds and lovely and peaceful. The rooms are good size, comfortable and have free aircon and safe. I'd read before booking and not a big deal is the very small shower cubicles and towels (I'd take my own big ones next time). But its the staff that make this place so special, Wendy, Theo, Cremie, Zeffie and Aris, you are doing a great job, thank you for your hospitality. We will meet again…
