My family and I have just returned from this wonderful hotel. From the moment we stepped through the door we felt like we were at home. Wendy was a fantastic host, she made us feel welcome and gave us some good tips of where to go. The rooms were great, the family room was big, spacious and with comfortable beds. The swimming pool was a good size, even though it was a bit on the chilly side it didn’t stop the children from jumping in. Breakfast was good, and always enough for everyone. The homemade pizzas for lunch were very yummy! The location was a 10 minute walk from the centre of Skala along the seafront and it also had a car park big enough to park our transit in! The Lunn family would love to return to this beautiful hotel again in the future.

Hotel's Favourite
This was our second stay at Melidron and can honestly say we would not want to stay anywhere else in Skala! The welcome at reception by Wendy was a pleasure, she is very friendly and helpful. She takes you too your room and explains everything/ AC , key card ect and advises times for breakfast. The rooms are clean and ours was spacious and nice and cool with the AC. The pool is a nice size and has a bar which is run by Theo, Alex and Penelope, They are really friendly and you wont wait for a cold beer. The food is also really nice and the menu is well varied for lunchtime. Breakfast is served by Kremena , she is so nice and friendly and she was so kind to our young daughters, she wrapped up cake for them when we did a boat trip and also when we left for the journey home. The hotel is perfectly positioned being close to the beach and a short walk into town where all the main restaurants and bars are . Melidron is so good there are a lot of repeat customers. We met some people who were there at the same time as us in 2018 who we recognised and they did us which was nice. We would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Skala and want a really nice clean, friendly hotel.

Lovely family run hotel. The pool bar is excellent staff very friendly. So close to beach and local restaurants. Air con is fab. The sofa bed is not comfortable and very squeaky with the slightest movement! Might not be the same in every room. Overall a lovely base in Skala.

Room Tip: We had a slight sea view, but it looks like there are rooms with lovely sea views which are best

We stayed at the Melidron in August 2023. The hotel was very nice and extremely clean. The cleaners were fantastic. Rooms were very large. Wendy was extremely helpful and staff very nice. Theo on the bar was very nice to talk too. The bar needed a bit more atmosphere to make it better, as not much going on around the bar. But don’t let this get the place bad marks. Food was ok and very tasteful. Pool area clean comfortable and of a good size. Recommend to stay here but needs some more activities to keep you interested there. Perfect location and east walk into town.

This was our first visit to Skala although it actually our third time to Kefalonia. The Melidron is a lovely hotel in an ideal location (about a 10 minute stroll from the busier area of the town) and a couple of minutes walk from the beach. The breakfasts are typically Greek - yogurt, breads, cheese, meats and fruit but made even better by the daily dose of Cremmie's home made cake. We also had a couple of lunches at the hotel - pizza and Greek salad which again were very tasty and made to order. Wendy was our contact before and during our stay and was very helpful and knowledgable. Theo and Aris who ran the bar were very friendly as was Penelope who was on reception during the late afternoon and evening. The pool bar and pool area were nice places to sit and the infinity pool gave a great view of the sea. The gardens were well kept and nice to sit in if you wanted a change from a sunbed. There was never an issue getting a sunbed though we did notice a couple of people put towels on the sunbeds early then didn't bother using them until later in the day. This wasn't necessary and just annoyed other guests. Our room was on the ground floor and had a garden view and was a good size. All in all a lovely relaxing holiday in a lovely hotel with first class staff.

Why anyone can call this place average is beyond me, just arrived for our 2nd visit having been made to feel so welcome last year and the same again this year is a credit to Wendy, Theo and Aris. The fact that we like so many others return, speaks volumes for this hotel, its cleanliness, location and value for money. We would certainly recommend and will be returning

What a pleasure to stay here. Family run, small hotel, where no one could do enough for you. Hotel Clean and room cleaned daily. Room was directly over looking the pool and with a sea view - perfect. Swimming pool, although a little cold was spotless. Breakfast was basic but plenty of it and fresh. Short stroll across the rod to the beach and a 5 minute walk into town. Food served between 10am and 5pm and the bar stayed open until 1am. Could not fault this hotel and will certainly be returning.

We had a fantastic stay at the Melidron Hotel in Kefalonia. It's a family run, cosy and friendly hotel- and the staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome. They all make an effort to get to know your name, and are so accommodating. I was in contact with Wendy before we arrived to arrange hotel transfers, which she was only too happy to help with. It was our first time in Kefalonia, and Wendy was great giving tips on where to visit and what to do. Skala Beach is only around the corner from the hotel, and there was never an issue getting space. The hotel also has a lovely outside pool with a lovely view looking down on the beach. Our 5 year old loved the pool- it caters for both adults and children. Theo and his dad run the bar, and always made a point of remembering your order. It was great to have somewhere to chill out, after going out for dinner in the evenings. The rooms were lovely and spacious, and were cleaned everyday. I will definately be recommending the Melidron to family and friends- our stay was amazing. We didn't want to come home! Thanks to everyone at the Melidron for making us feel so welcome.

I’ve been here with my gf and my son. The location is perfect being just in front one of the best beach of the island. The center of the small town is just 5 min walking. I want to say thanks to all the staff but especially to Penelope who has been fantastic with my 3 yrs old son. The room had the balcony and the size was enough for 3 people. There is a swimming pool with a bar where you can get a nice drink after a day at the beach. The only down side ,being Italian ,is the fact that the only coffe in the breakfast is americano. I would have love an espresso or a cappuccino.

Melidron exceeded our expectations in every respect. The accessibility to the beach (2 min walk) and the village centre (5-10 min walk), the friendliness of all the staff, a small but beautiful swimming pool, the great poolside bar with great cocktails and ICY COLD BEER served by friendly staff. The room is SPACIOUS and a simple breakfast by the pool is relaxing. We did enjoy interacting with locals, of course, but I must say it was great to be looked after by a friendly and efficient Wendy at the front office. Our flight was 11 pm to Stanstead and the hotel was (understandably) full - no problem - we could use the hotel facility as normal, towels provided, and Wendy organised a shower room for us before dinner time. Such attention to detail and high quality of customer service was what made this hotel something special. Lots of guests seemed to be repeaters too - and even they were friendly!! Skala proved to be a great base for our family with 2 teenagers. They were happy with the location of the hotel as they could roam around the village/beach freely by themselves. The main Skala beach was a surprise too - despite being popular and sometimes described as 'over crowded', the water was crystal clear with a lot of fish! Such a wonderful stay. Thanks, Melidron, Wendy and the team. We will be back!!
