This was our 2nd stay at this hotel, previous stay was in 2018 and the refurb that has been done since then is a great success. The staff are very hard working most covering at least 2 areas of the hotel. Breakfast has lots of choice, tea, coffee, fruit juice, hot choices- eggs, bacon etc, and cold - cheese, cold meat, tomatoes, plus cakes and pastries as well as bread for toast and spreads with fresh fruit and greek yoghurt. The pool is a nice size with a splash pool for kids and plenty of sunbeds, across the roads is Skala beach with sunbeds, tables and umbrella's for €10 for the set per day, food and drink can be ordered from these delivered by the beach girl from the hotel snack bar. Food at lunchtime is good with a nice selection on offer, evening meals not served her but there are so many great restaurants close by. Rooms cleaned on a daily basis and the hotel has a great friendly vibe to it, we enjoyed it so much we have already booked for 3 weeks next year. Can't wait.

What can one say? This Hotel must be the jewel in the crown of Jet2's hotels in Skala. Beautiful room with stunning views. Cleaning services were second to none and every one of the staff were helpful, professional and couldn't do enough to ensure our holiday went smoothly right from the welcome we received when we arrived tired, haggard and stressed out late at night and after a very long day. The breakfast was good and plenty of choice although they could have done with a lot more cutlery as it kept running out but a minor gripe after a fabulous holiday.

We have recently returned from a family holiday staying at Makis Hotel, Skala. From the moment we arrived Lia and the rest of the staff looked after us. We found the rooms modern and clean and the beds were comfortable. The hotel is ideally placed for the beach opposite or there is plenty of room to sit by the pool. All the staff were very friendly and extremely helpful- would definitely return.

Stayed here for a week in September and we had a fantastic time and would definitely stay here again. Breakfast is lovely with pastries fruit and good full English option. The food is good and the 2 girls working the restaurant (front of house) work hard continuing to do so after breakfast in the poolside and beach bars. Our room was spotlessly clean and sheets crisp and white....Our room 303 was perhaps too shady for our liking and would have preferred one without all the bushes and vegetation near but I didn't want to complain as some would like the fact it kept the room cooler. You get air conditioning and safe included with price which is great value and ensures a cool sleep/room. The pool and sunbeds are great....love the 3 Balinese four posters to relax in and read....nodded in there !!! Reception service excellent and organised an extended room hire as we weren't flying home until early evening. My only tiny complaint is that on 2 or 3 occasions the restaurant ran out of cutlery and glasses which were of course duly replenished but I loved our stay here.....the beach is 20m away ......fantastic

Another fantastic holiday spent at the Makis Hotel It’s under new/old management as Lia who has been there for a while has taken over the running of things and it’s great. The staff are friendly and happy in their work the place is spotless and we had a fab 3 weeks staying in their company.

Overall I liked my experience at The Makis but there were a few areas that need improvement. The staff/owners were friendly, polite but often very, very busy - especially the bar staff as it took a while to get a drink. Leia was very welcoming and accommodating and the cleaning man/lady were exceptional as the rooms and common areas were spotless. The rooms were very clean and modern. Breakfast was ok (scrambled eggs, fried eggs, bacon and a selection of yoghurt/ pastries) and although busy, there was always somewhere to sit. The toaster took a very long time and they could do with replacing it. The bali-style day beds by the pool were great but its the pool area that lets this hotel down. The pool itself is fine but the sunbeds are really flimsy and old both by the pool and on the beach. Also, you have to walk through the bar/restaurant area to have a shower? The location os perfect though - right opposite the beach and an easy 5 min walk to the main town bars/restaurants. If the modernised the pool/ restaurant area even by updating the sunbeds /umbrellas then it would be the best place to stay in skala.

Rooms are lovely and modern, and cleaned well. Breakfast is brilliant, can’t fault for a small hotel. Bacons, eggs, small sausages, toast, fresh tomatoes, cereals Greek yoghurt honey and plenty of fruit and pastries. Coffee juice and water. The breakfast terrace is just lovely and overlooks the beach Only slight negatives- Pool area maybe a little bit dated and grouting could do with a tidy. Also needed maybe a paint here and there, like around the umbrella bases, but when you have a beach on the front door, does that really matter! Pool area was quiet and friendly and always clean. This would no way put us off coming back and not awful, just small observations. Also shower cubical is quite small- but again, nothing major! The staff at this hotel are so lovely and work very hard! We’ve stayed in other hotels in Skala, further out but this one will be one we’ll return to. It’s a very good 3 star and a perfect central location! We were in room 308, a little request to the hotel- cut the tree back that blocks the beautiful view of the sea! We were going to ask to move but we decided we weren’t in the room long enough for the hassle. Thank you Makis for a great stay!

Popped to Kefalonia for a short stay in June. I’ve been to Kefalonia a few times but always stayed in apartments. However I would go back to this hotel. I didn’t use the pool on site because it was directly adjacent to the beach but also the pool needed a good clean. There was a green line around where the water was. The rooms however were stunning and cleaned daily. Breakfast was small but just what you needed to keep waste to a minimum.

I have been using the hotel for the last few years, the difference this year has been excellent. The all new female staff were very helpful and friendly and we were looked after superbly well. The rooms have been upgraded as we're the breakfasts with a greater choice of food. All round the Man is was a great choice.
