We went to this hotel as with another couple during mid September this year. The hotel was a very good standard in terms of pool area and rooms. The infinity pool is lovely overlooking the sea. There are plenty of sun beds so no rushing for them. The rooms were spacious and cleaned daily with safety box air conditioning and bathrobes with slippers all as standard. We had a spacious balcony looking up at a mountain. The negatives was evening buffet if half board not very good and rooms sit at back of hotel so no sea views from balcony.

The hotel is very modern, clean and spacious. The rooms were cleaned very well, the staff in the bar and restaurant were very friendly and helpful. Being a little out of Skala, you needed a car or take a 30 min walk, we did both during the 2 weeks we were there. Taxi’s were in town to take you back, but getting one to pick you up, to go to town was a struggle. Being there for 2 weeks, we did get fed up with the food choices. Don’t get me wrong, the quality was fantastic, and cooked very well. it was just kinda boring after a time. What would have been nice, would have been burger and chips or similar now and then. Not a formal dinner with the same potatoes, or low choice of salad. If you bought a bottle of wine with your dinner, you had to drink it or take back to your room, you can’t take it back next evening to have with your meal ( I think is unfair ) we arrived at midnight, there was a dried up sandwich left in the room for us, nice gesture, but that constituted as the meal for the day, because our flight home was at 11pm, we paid €40 to extend our room for 4 hours, to have a shower etc before going, but we’re told we were not allowed an evening meal before heading home. It’s not the fact that we couldn’t, it was that they bothered to phone the room to tell us. So trivial after spending good money on lunch menus nearly everyday, and their over priced drinks! It was going to be a long day, getting home at 03.30am! You can’t take your own food or drink around the pool, but you can do what you like on your balcony. We did totally enjoy the time spent here, it’s a really nice hotel.

What a fantastic hotel. We’ve been to the hotel 3 times now and have booked again for 2023. The rooms are very big and in lovely condition. The rooms are stocked with lovely toiletries and have nicely sized balconies. They aren’t that private but we’ve never had a problem with them. The pool area is just perfect! It’s such a relaxing environment and you’ll always be offered plenty of refreshments by the wonderful staff. There is always plenty of variety at dinner and we’ve always enjoyed our meals. Yuli and Marcelo will always look after you and go above and beyond. We had lunch at the hotel a few times and it was always really tasty and good sized portions. A good tip is to head to the patisserie next door for ice cream and chocolate! It’s amazing and very cheap! We’ve always hired a car to travel around the island as it’s so beautiful you have to explore! Antisamos beach is definitely worth a visit. This is a beautiful hotel and we can’t wait to go back!

What can I say that’s not already been said! A slick , modern, classy hotel. Memories I will take from visiting here are the staff were amazing , friendly and welcoming, even the owner Mike and his pal Mike, were always on hand and spent all their time attending to all, not something you get at a lot of hotels. You only had to knock a tissue off the table and it was picked up before it landed. No fighting for sun beds, no massive queuing and there was a very friendly vibe going on. There isn’t a thing I would have changed. Our first time in Kefalonia couldn’t have gone better . Thanks to all staff and the lovely couples we met during our stay.

If you are looking for a low key vibe at an adults only, this is the place. We found the rooms to be modern and probably had the most comfortable beds we have encountered on holiday. It is on the outskirts of Skala, so a good 25 minute walk up the hill to where the main tavernas and handful of shops are. As others have said, the patisserie next door was a great bonus. We had 2 large icecreams and a lovely cake for 6 euros which we thought was good value. We also visited the Waves beach bar for lunch a couple of times. All in all we would recommend people to come here with a few tweaks as follows :- There was a strict policy of not reserving sunbeds or sitting around the pool/swimming before lifeguard came on duty at 9am. However, we witnessed one woman complaining about this and then being told to vacate the area, but her towel was left on the sunbed reserving it, so what was the point. Interestingly enough, by the next morning she was back there at 8.30 swimming and reserving the same bed. So the rules get changed for one person it seems! There was a poor selection of desserts repeated every night A bottle of water left in the fridge every day or on the dinner table at night would have been a nice touch The same 2 singers rotated, so they were on 3 times each during our stay

My husband and I stayed at the Tesoro Blu for 2 weeks at the beginning of August and my daughter and partner joined us for the second week. The hotel receptionist went out of her way to ensure we had adjacent rooms which was much appreciated. We all had a fabulous time and would definitely recommend this hotel to couples looking for a relaxing holiday. The hotel is located about a 15 minutes walk from the centre of Scala, which is a pretty village with plenty of bars, restaurants and shops. The Main Street is quiet in the day time but buzzing at night. A must is a visit to Mikelatos Restaurant on the central pedestrian road for a fine dining experience but at affordable prices and I would recommend The Pines for a more traditional taverna feel. A fab bar that we went to on many occasions was Siroco again on the main pedestrian road; such friendly staff. On the route between Scala and the Hotel is the fabulous Ammos beach bar - great atmosphere and incredible food and service. There was only one bus a day to the Capital, Argostoli, and whilst there were bus stops advertising buses to Poros, we were advised not to rely on the bus service; a taxi cost about 30 euros for the return journey. There is not a lot in Poros but if you book a boat trip, you might pick up your boat there and there is a ferry service to the Greek mainland. The hotel is very modern, spacious and clean. The rooms are huge, as are the beds, and fully equipped. The food was superb. Previous reviews I read criticised the lack of choice but I don’t agree as the quality of what was on offer couldn’t be faulted. The meat and fish choices were never dry but so succulent. The dessert choices were limited but again enough for most palates and always a choice of cheeses and ice cream. There were no themed evenings, which was a bit of a shame and I never saw anyone in the Al a Carte restaurant which seemed expensive. At breakfast there was a station where you could order omelettes and be served freshly fried eggs; scrambled egg was always available at the buffet along with the other elements of the “full English”. All hot and cold drinks were self service. There was a good lunch menu if you didn’t want to venture out of the hotel. There was never a problem getting sun beds around the pool. Towels were available from the lifeguard. The pool was spotless and a good temperature. Ali, the waitress worked so hard to keep everyone served around the pool; she is an asset to the hotel, as are all the bar staff who worked tirelessly to keep us topped up. I would have liked to have had water stations provided - bottles of water were 2 euros and the waste they create could be avoided. There were a couple of expert cocktail makers who were fascinating to watch. You could ask for cups of ice to take up to your room. All the staff were very courteous but I must give a special mention and thanks to Kostas who was an absolute legend and also Marcelo (I hope I have spelt your name correct) who was always serving at breakfast time and then again in the evening, he was a real gentleman. The entertainment was low key. Two acts, Hollis and Sophie Mendoza, each played twice weekly. They were both very good, but it would have been nice to have had a bit more variety. We visited ancient Ithaca which was a beautiful place, you must go there. Sue the Tui rep was very knowledgeable and the Tui trips were very reasonably priced. A massive thank you to the management and staff of the Tesoro Blu for making our holiday so memorable.

Our visit to TesoroBlu was 3years in the waiting due to COVID and we were not disappointed. As AndreaG (previous reviewer) had said, and we agree with everything she has written. We visited as 2 couples and had a perfect holiday made all the more perfect by the attentive polite staff, all of them without exception, Eri and Yuli especially!! We definitely would recommend this hotel, many guest were repeat visitors which speaks for itself.

The Tesoro Blue is even more stunning than it looks in the brochure and is immaculately maintained. About a 15 minute walk from Skala, this wonderfully designed, low rise hotel sits metres away from the sea, accessed via the small coast road which is immediately adjacent to the beach. The sun rises over the sea and this is where I enjoyed morning yoga on a near deserted beach. The hotel nestles back into the hillside, and is flanked by beautiful vegetation. Aside from a fabulous patisserie next door, handy for pastries and possibly the best ice creams I’ve ever tasted (try the tiramisu), and a quiet beach bar 100 metres along the road, the Tesoro Blue occupies its own private patch of paradise. Family owned and run, super friendly and operated with quiet, unfussy efficiency, nothing is too much trouble for the staff here, who are respectful yet somehow manage to make you feel part of the family. On arrival welcome drinks are provided in the stunningly designed atrium, while luggage is delivered ahead of you to the accommodation. The rooms are a contemporary design and kept spotlessly clean, with ample neatly concealed storage. Rooms have fridges, aircon, robes, slippers, ironing board, safes, hairdryers, complimentary toiletries and are pretty much what you’d hope for in a hotel of this standard. The infinity pool is magical and looks straight out over the sea. It is adjacent to the restaurant and bar area and In the evening the poolside turns into a seating area for dinner which is simply stunning. Best of all nobody gets up at dawn to bags the loungers. A system is in place where beach towels are collected poolside in exchange for a towel card. The pool can’t be accessed until 0900 and this makes for an altogether more relaxed experience. The food was divine and faultless throughout. The staff work tirelessly keeping everything spotless. Dishes are topped up before anything ever runs out. The atmosphere in the restaurant is friendly and relaxed and it never feels overcrowded. For breakfast, there are the usual cereals, full English, European. Pastries, waffles, fresh fruit, toast, Greek yoghurt, cheeses. In addition there is an omelette bar. At night there are at least two meat dishes (slow cooked and melting cuts of pork, lamb, duck, beef in a variety of incredible sauces), grilled chicken, succulent fish dishes of various descriptions, a vegetarian main, a large selection of amazing vegetable sides, risottos, rice and potato dishes and fresh bread rolls. A loaded salad bar inc carrots, cabbage, tomatoes, beetroot, onions, olives, pickled veg, stuffed vine leaves, hummus, tsatziki, Taramasalata, tapenade, rocket salad, lettuce salad. There are also dishes such as stuffed aubergine, cheese soufflé, saffron mash (a must!). The food is flavoursome, wonderfully cooked and well presented. We were blown away by the consistent variety and high quality. There is a tempting selection of desserts, cheeses and fruits. I could honestly happily eat there for the rest of my life. Thé restaurant is a servery arrangement, but never overcrowded and that suited us perfectly. For those who want to be waited on there is an a la carte option which I imagine attracts an additional fee. There is an extensive cocktail menu and happy hour runs daily from 1700-1900. One of the absolute standout features of this holiday was the friendliness and professionalism of the waiting staff. Greeted and seated by charming Maître D’s each evening, service is prompt and attentive. The staff genuinely make you feel valued and are polite and respectful. They take time to chat but are in no way intrusive. For those who like live music , there are two excellent vocalists who perform blues/souls/rock/disco in the bar four times a week and for those who need to exercise there is a decent gym in the hotel alongside an indoor pool and spa. People come back to this hotel again and again. It is very easy to see why.

I didn’t read the reviews prior to arriving at the hotel and if I had, I think I would have been slightly more prepared. Overall, we had a wonderful 7 day stay at the Tesoro Blu. The pool area is a massive highlight. There are loads of comfortable sunbeds and we never had any trouble getting one at any point in the day. The poolside service is great and the lunch offered is actually generally better than the evening meal in terms of quality. The ladies serving were all absolutely lovely and we enjoyed chatting to them each day - they work incredibly hard. The pool itself is gorgeous - lovely temperature and wonderful to be able to look over the edge at the boats on the sea. The view from the pool is STUNNING! The rooms are really nice. The beds are incredibly comfortable and I got a great night sleep every night. Yes, the tv has a poor choice of channels but I didn’t go all the way to Greece to watch the tv. We didn’t really use the balcony; as others have said, they are more basic than the rest of the rooms and we preferred to sit down in the bar. Some cons: 1) I was pregnant when we arrived, which changes my experience slightly from the usual so a lot of this is mostly down to circumstance. As i hadn’t read the reviews, I was completely unaware that the rooms are behind the hotel and for some blocks, this can include up to around a 5 minute trek up a gradient. We also went in August so it was hot. Due to being unaware that I was pregnant until literally the week before we arrived, and the fact I didn’t know the hotel had this set up, we didn’t request a room close to the reception and restaurant as I had no idea that they’d be any real distance apart. When we arrived we realised we had a room in the furthest block away and as I was regularly having to make a dash for the toilets in a green and shaking morning sickness state, this wasn’t ideal. We explained the situation to the manager who originally was quite antagonistic and essentially said that because I didn’t let them know it wasn’t their problem. This felt a little harsh given that we weren’t aware of the set up of the hotel and like others have mentioned, it didn’t feel much like a 4/5 star treatment. Having said that, she did then do everything she could to move us and we had a much closer room which was lucky as even that was tricky for me at times, but like I say, that was on me really! 2) The evening food was nice, but it was samey. There was only really a variation in 5 dishes and the rest stayed the same each day. It was nice, it certainly wasn’t horrible like others have stated but it wasn’t anything to write home about. 3) the one thing I love about TUI hotels is the entertainment. Given that I wasn’t feeling up to the hot walk into Skala most evenings, I was really looking forward to sitting in the bar and seeing what the hotel had to offer. Very little was the answer. The same rotation of two singers, only one of whom was actually any good. Like others have said, there are upstairs areas that have huge potential that aren’t used and it was a little disappointing. Overall, I don’t think we’d return, but it was a relaxing holiday and we enjoyed it.

We stayed at this adults only hotel for 2 weeks in August. The hotel is modern and really well maintained belying the fact it is 13 years old. The view from the pool is amazing as is the pool/sunbathing area, sun beds available at any time during the day. There are also a number of beach clubs close by where you can rent beds ranging from €6-15 for 2 beds and an umbrella. Kefalonia itself is stunning with car hire recommended, though there are a number of companies along with Tui who run organised boat and coach trips which enable you to view this beautiful island from road and the sea. Skala is a 20 minute walk away, for us this was ideal as the hotel was lovely and peaceful during the day but with the option of something louder and busier a short walk or a €5 taxi ride away. The hotel rooms are set in blocks behind the main building and again they are very peaceful amongst lovely surroundings. Our second floor room overlooked the hills/mountain with a regular visit from the mountain goats! The bed was huge but the lighting a little too subdued. The breakfast was good but not as extensive as we have had at other4 & 5* hotels, however it was more than adequate for us with the option of eggs cooked to order, cereals, pastries, fruit and yoghurt. We normally stay B&B but as this was half board we did eat at the hotel at night and we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. 6 or 7 options daily including fish, pasta, meat and veggie options. We did however eat out too in Skala where there are some lovely restaurants to choose from at reasonable prices. Prices at the hotel we thought we’re reasonable and similar to bars in the area €4 for a large beer. €5 for a large glass of wine. The staff were lovely, particularly Marcelo, the bar tenders and the lifeguard all of whom were happy to pass the time of day with you. Happy to talk about the island and share an insight into their lives on the island. Sue the Tui rep who is based at the hotel was friendly and helpful with a good knowledge of Kefalonia. There are a few things that we think would improve the experience, all small but doable. Provide a welcome drink on arrival, we arrived at 11 pm and there was no offer of a drink which is a given at all other 4 & 5* hotels we’ve stayed in before. Provide a daily bottle of water in the room not just one for the duration of the stay. Replace the pool towels which are well worn and a bit threadbare. Overall we had a really lovely holiday at this hotel and would happily return and recommend to others.
