Our first time at this warm, friendly 5 star beach front hotel and we have already booked to return next year. Our room was very clean, spacious and well appointed with a very comfortable bed. The balcony looked directly over the beach/sea. The swimming pool, with adjacent bar and restaurant, was excellent and the gym was very good for a hotel. The buffet breakfast, served in a fabulous breakfast dining room, was varied and plentiful with good choices for everyone. This is a 'hands on' family run hotel concerned to provide a 5 star holiday experience for its guests, and great staff work hard to ensure this happens. Sala centre, offering very good bars, restaurants and cafe's is a 10/12 minute stroll, with a supermarket closer still.
Absolutely Perfect – THE Diamond Destination of Skala From the moment we were greeted we knew we had chosen a fabulous place to stay. Welcomed by Anastasia and her amazing team we felt very well looked after from the start to the end of our holiday. An architectural marvel on the beachfront of Skala in Kefalonia, a unique multilevel 5 star boutique hotel that didn’t disappoint and delivered on everything one could wish for. Efficient, fast and friendly staff. Always willing to help with restaurant quality food and service. Incredible views of from the room, restaurant, loungers, pool, and gym. It really does have it all. The location for us was simply perfect, far enough away from the busy town area, but still very close to walk, with its own private beach and waiter service, a few mins walk from shops, cove, bars and restaurants and still remains quiet and serene. The additional touch of a professional spec gym which we all used each morning whilst looking out to sea was amazing. We stayed bed and breakfast, and breakfast was a wow moment itself, always with an amazing view and aspect from the restaurant out to sea and sunrise if you get there early enough! Amazing food, with a wide choice hot and cold and great personal service (the home-made orange cake is to die for!) The clever architecture and design of the hotel itself makes all areas have an aspect out to sea and very much has a luxurious feel. You feel like you are somewhere very special and out of the ordinary. The pool and poolside area looks out to sea from a high viewpoint and was chilled and relaxed during the two weeks we were there in August; it was never overcrowded with a very chilled atmosphere. And with excellent top-quality food and drinks at the bar/restaurant adjacent it was the best place to chill, read and soak up some sun. Hospitality was impeccable right from housekeeping to management, always spotlessly clean and well maintained. Nothing was ever too much trouble. If you are wanting an absolute jewel of a luxury hotel and quality right on the beach, this is it. After spoiling ourselves now we have visited, there really is nothing else to compare in Skala, it is very much worth that little bit extra for the wonderful experience, surroundings, amazing breakfast, restaurant food and the perfect location. A very, very special place which we hope to return to again soon. Don't look anywhere else, this truly is 'THE' diamond destination in Skala. Absolutely perfect. So good we were planning to go back before we had left! …
On arrival we were met by assistant hotel manager the wonderful Anastasia. Our bags were taken up to our room by 2 of her vey helpful and polite staff. We were initially taken to the very impressive reception area and were shown to the balcony with a beautiful view and were given a complimentary arrival drink which was nice. We were then taken to our middle floor room. Anastasia showed us around our room and explained all the details. The room was immaculate, spacious and very well equipped with some really nice complimentary touches, bathroom immaculately clean and very well presented. She then opened our balcony doors to reveal the most amazing view of the sea and overlooking the very impressive pool area, of which after a long day of travelling was a wonderful moment, both myself and wife becoming quite emotional in the greatest sense ! The room was attended to every day with attention to detail. Room overall 10/10 ! Pool area was excellent, again overlooking the beach. Fresh complimentary lounging towels were available daily, very comfortable loungers, pool bar / restaurant always well manned by lovely staff, both brunch and evening menu very good, food itself was excellent ! 10/10 Must also mention the breakfast, everything you would ever want to eat / drink and again very friendly staff on board to wait. Lovely relaxing breakfast room again, overlooking sea and beach. 10/10 Overall a very well managed, friendly and superb business with every attention to guest requirements. As many other guests I talked to who have been there on numerous visits, I will certainly follow ! Anastasia and staff - 10/10, superb !! Tripadvisor need to create 6 stars especailly for Regina Del Aqua !! Thankyou so much !!…
So happy to have returned again to this wonderful place, which feels like coming home to us. This is our favourite place to stay on the island and we can’t recommend it enough. Anastasia and her team work tirelessly to ensure everyone has a holiday to remember. The team are so friendly and always smiling. The location of this hotel is perfect. A 10-15 minute stroll into Skala village, where there are lovely tavernas and bars - Karma is highly recommended for their cocktails. The other way takes you to a lovely patisserie (about 10 mins) and then onto the Nautilus restaurant (not to be missed). Food in the hotel restaurant is excellent (and plentiful!) and we’d recommend having dinner there at least once if you’re staying on a bed and breakfast basis only. Breakfast is good and there is always plenty of choice. The pool is a good size and there are always beds to be had. It’s a relaxing space overlooking the beach. The beach beds are a great alternative. We are looking forward to seeing everyone next September. Thank you Anastasia, Evangelos, Katerina (Kathy), Yannis, Chris, Ilias, Chris, Geri. Sorry if we’ve missed anyone! See you next year xx…
As many others have already said everything about Regina Dell Acqua is excellent. Cleanliness, quality, food and service all good. Management and their team always smiling, polite and ready to help. A credit to the hotel, Skala, Kefalonia and Greece. We would return to Regina. Thanks for adding to our great Kefalonia experience.
Absolutely loved this hotel It was our first visit and definitely wont be our last. From the moment we arrived Anastasia and her team welcomed us and continued to make our holiday a fabulous one. The hotel itself is immaculate and beautiful, this was just what we wanted.
Had a fantastic weeks stay here in mid September. The staff are brilliant and seem genuinely interested to ensure your stay is as good as it could be, always stopping you to say hello and asking if everything is ok…probably the best “staff” experience we’ve had in 40 years of travelling. Seemed very sincere. We had half board, with the option to have lunch or evening meal which worked well for us. The restaurants setting, overlooking the pool and sea was lovely. The portions are also large but beautifully presented and delicious. The breakfast was excellent to. We split our time between the pool and sand/pebble beach when not checking out the island…no scramble for sunbeds, all very relaxed. The rooms are a good size and very clean, we had a fantastic sea view, but be aware that there are no walk in showers just a hand held shower in the bath…which may be a problem for some. We also did the 4x4 tour via TUI whilst we were there. Was ok, but spent a lot of time in the car and view in back not very good 6/10. Also took the boat trip with Captain Vangelis to Fiscardo vis Sami and a couple of swim stops. The boat is situated just a 10 minute walk from the hotel…this was excellent, well worth it. 9/10. We loved Kefalnia, we loved the hotel and the people we met and we will be back. Thank you Anastasia and team for looking after us so well, pity we didn’t stay longer.…
We first stayed at this wonderful hotel in 2013 when we also got married in Skala and we have since stayed several times with the last being in 2019. It was fantastic to be back again in September for a two week stay. We were greeted with open arms by the managers (and most definitely good friends) Anastasia and Evangelos as well as the staff when we arrived late in the evening, and we always feel so at home. We’ve stayed in various rooms over the years and never been disappointed (even the ones with restricted view). Our room this time was on the lower level with a terrace to the garden and a beautiful view of the sea. The room was cleaned daily along with change of towels etc. The beach is just across the road and the town of Skala is just a pleasant short walk and has a great selection of Tavernas, bakeries and shops. The food in the hotel restaurant is absolutely delicious with a very reasonable price. We were also treated to a bottle of bubbly and the private table under the canopy by the pool as it was our anniversary. Without question, the management and staff at this hotel are amazing and really make it special. Katerina at breakfast always got the day started with fun conversation but also then works on reception. Our good friend Yani who looks after maintenance is always on hand to help and chat, Angelika on reception so friendly and professional and we must mention Ilias and the guys at the pool bar who are just so entertaining whilst providing a high standard of service. Will be back again next year and no doubt many more years beyond ! :-) …
Every autumn since 2012 our family has spent a week at Regina. Because of the pandemic we had to cancel for 2020 and 2021. But now in 2022 we went back and a had wonderful week at the best hotel in Skala. We love this hotel and the quiet little town Skala. The staff is so friendly and helpful and the management (Evangelos and Anastasia) has created a perfect place for a nice and quiet greek holiday. The rooms are beautiful, food is excellent and on the beach there is plenty of space between the sunbeds unlike many other places. We can recommend Regina in every way and have already booked again for 2023.
Location - Across road from beach. Right on the edge of Skala village on a peaceful part of the beach. A relaxed 15 min walk to centre with good selection of shops & restaurants or 3 mins to a couple of good bars/restaurants. Property - Split level into hillside with lift. Attractive 3 storey buildings and landscaping. All spotlessly clean. Service - Excellent staff and service throughout. Warm, professional and helpful. Good visibility of management and we felt very welcome. The staff took great pleasure and care to ensure they individually recognised us and our preferences. All staff were great and extra special mention to Geronomas & Yani who both went out of their way several times to look after us. Food - Hot & cold breakfast buffet. Excellent whole meal/granary bread and local pastries. Fruit some tinned & some fresh. Fruit juice machine. Good selection of usual hot breakfast items. Lovely breakfast room overlooking the sea, light & airy. The extra loud breakfast radio & fake plants didn’t however fit with relaxed atmosphere and high quality decor. Great morning coffee options at restaurant bar. Lunch/Dinner in restaurant with lovely setting - large glass doors overlooking sea and high quality cutlery & linen. Excellent Moussaka, souvlaki & pizza options. Ok burgers with high volume of chips. Again excellent service. Rooms - We had the lowest entry room type garden view and it was very spacious & comfortable. Lots of storage and lovely patio. Very high quality linen & towels. Bed personal taste but both found it hard. Bathroom great size with both bath & shower but poor shower head. Sea glimpse, nice planting around patio the rest was building view. Useful fridge, dressing gowns & slippers. Large TV. Facilities - A very attractive pool and planting around. All sun loungers & umbrellas in great condition & enough of them. No natural shade however & difficult for both to stay under umbrella protection. Great very well equipped gym with sea views. Well spaced out loungers on both beach and pool area. (Sea ones are chargeable) Overall - All guests were British and most were older couples. Many were repeat guests. We loved a lot about this hotel and it fully deserves its 5 stars on TA by so many guests including us. Team totally excellent. We think sadly we will not be returning shortly however as we are beach rather than pool lovers. The long sand & shingle beach looked so great with sparking blue clear water. However the deep shingle made walking along it very difficult even with reef shoes & access into and out of the sharp shelved sea was also difficult as you sink into deep pea shingle. A big thank you to all the team for a lovely hols.…
