Another wonderful break in Exmoor at Dunkery Beacon Hotel. To prove how much we enjoyed it we decided to stay an extra two nights. Exmoor was at it Spring best. The wild flowers were glorious. There is lots of choice for walking much of it uphill. As ever John and Jane were exceptional hosts making everyone welcome. Nothing too much... More

It is a rare occasion to stay at a place where you can't think of one thing that could be improved. Well I think Dunkery Beacon is that place. Set in a stunning location you can walk straight from the door up to the beacon. After exercise why not relax back in the hotel where the staff make you feel... More

It is always lovely to see guests returning and at Christmas time it is like having family coming to stay. The log fire in the lounge is so cosy to walk into on a chilly winters day and then curl up on the sofa with a glass of wine and a good book. We look forward to seeing you again. More

Jane and John are very friendly, knowledgeable, welcoming hosts. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Our suites were comfortable and spotlessly clean with wonderful views. John provided a varied selection of fantastic food accompanied by lovely wines recommended by Jane. The hotel is in a superb location in a quiet village on Exmoor. We had a wonderful three day... Lovely people running it, lovely spot, lovely room, lovely dinner and breakfast. It is not a 4 or 5 star hotel, more a guest house with a restaurant. Dinner only Wed/Thu/Fri/Sat no bar if not dining, no reception. Quiet rather than lively - perfect.

The room (No.5) was spacious, having a separate sitting room with TV, and lovely views. The cuisine is absolutely top-notch: some of the finest I've ever experienced (and I spend a lot of time at hotels). We visited Porlock... More
