My boyfriend and I stayed here for one night on a two day road trip from Salta to Jujuy. We stopped on our way to the Salinas grandes. The room was beautiful, quiet, and had a great view. Breakfast & wifi were included, however, they did not take credit card. They recommended us a restaurant which ended up being the... More

We stayed at this modest, pleasant little place for three nights in November and were more than pleased with the experience. Our comfortable room was a bit small but suited our needs just fine, and was very clean and quiet. Breakfasts were very good and the hotel's staffers were friendly and helpful.

Purmamarca if a tourist town. Nonetheless, we preferred it to Tilcara and other nearby pueblos. And we like the Amuata quite a bit. Nice room (albeit on the small side), good breakfast, helpful staff.

We had a lovely stay here in March 2014. The hotel was designed by the owner/architect who has a weekend home next door to the hosteria. The design of the hotel is lovely. Everything about it - from lighting fixtures to the way the floor tiles are laid - is interesting and pleasing ot the eye. There's a restaurant right... More

We arrived in Purmamarca without reservations. Not sure where to stay, we drove two streets above the main road (tiny town, not too many) and stumble on Hosteria del Amauta. What a delightful find. The hotel is uniquely designed; lovely layout and no store-bought fixtures or anything, Room was so comfy I wanted to stay in and relax. But we didn't.... More

Stunning little boutique hotel in the traditional style. Very tasteful, comfortable rooms, good breakfast and helpful and friendly staff. Well located on the edge of village and only 3 minute walk to center.

A small, quiet hotel with large rooms nicely furnished. Good breakfast. A plus? a deck with jacuzzi in a stone setting. If you want to take good pictures of the coloured mountain wake up early and climb the mountain opposite the hotel (close nearby): you will see the sun painting the mountain while rising.

Hosteria del amauta is very cozy. Gabriela & Johnathan, the employees in charge, are friendly, kind and hospitable. They would solve any inconvenience arisen. Everywhere is clean and neat. Juana the cat adds the tender and romantic side of the story. The hotel has many interesting books to read and a peaceful playing room to stay to read or watch... More

Hosteria del Amauta is wonderful and yet it's not. The view from our balcony of the mountains was breathtaking. The bed was fine. The bathroom was clean. So why am I complaining? There was only one reading lamp in the room. Sadly it was on my husband's side of the bed. The glass in our window was cracked. Promo materials... More

My husband and I were traveling through Purmamarca on our honeymoon so we wanted something nice, but not too extreme as we would be basically passing through. Hosteria del Amauta is basic but very clean, a nice breakfast, and very kind and helpful staff. Would not recommend if you are staying many days but for a stop over it is... More
