Cheap hotel.
Small room, very poorly soundproofed.
Tiny bathroom, and you can hear all the evacuations from the upper room.
Ageing establishment.
But very pleasant staff, and the Pension is well placed in the city center, 2 steps from the train and bus stations

It's about a 10-minute walk from the station on a flat road. The bus terminal is about 5 minutes away.
It is an old-fashioned hotel, and the facilities are a little old, but there are no major issues with cleanliness.
It's in the center of town, conveniently located near the shopping district.
Perhaps because there are only a few employees, there was often no one at the front desk, but I don't think it's a big problem.
It may not be a town that many tourists visit, but the cost performance is very good.
If you don't have any particular preferences for where to stay, I think it's a good choice.
On the other hand, it's difficult to describe any particular features of the hotel.

Clean hotel, very friendly staff. Especially Mr. Joaquim and D. Veronica at reception. Moderate coffee and tiny rooms. Bathroom is also tiny and with a bathtub that is very dangerous for older people. Good location and there is no parking as stated in booking.

Not very good.
Bed is barely keeping together
Mattress is horrible. Cost us 3 to 4 hours of sleep per night.
Breakfast is sub par: don't take the coffee. The fruit juice has, besides the name, nothing to do with fruit. The yogurt is sweet and the milk is not fresh.
The shower is ridiculously small. When you pick up your shampoo and soap you almost get stuck.
It is clean, the staff is friendly, and location is good.

Stayed 4 nights and was not sorry. It was close to both train and bus stations. The breakfast was basic but good. The air conditioner and hot water was fine. The room was a bit small, but the price was right. I would stay there again even though you are not allowed to keep the key when you leave.

We stayed here for 2 days. The hotel is situated almost in the centre of city. The stuff is very polite. I needed a hairdryer and there were no in the room so we asked at the reception. Also we asked about an iron. The only minus is that the shower is really old and need to be redone. The water wasn't very hot.
Although for the breakfast you can choose different things. Even if it starts from 8 a.m., we had a plane earlier and leaft the hotel at 6.45 and the receptionist offered us a breakfast but unfortunately we didn't have time for it. The pictures shows the view from our window.

It is a traditional Portuguese 'family hotel' with quite good beds and friendly staff. The location is great, all in walking distance, to the station (bus or train) to the central market (Praca da Republica) and to the very relaxing Park (Dom Carlos I). More tourist information (train schedule, bike/car hire, cultural activities, 'night-life' ) would be appreciated.

This was anotyer one night stop over and was easy to find. The staff where very welcoming and friendly. The rooms themselves were small bust cosy, the only immediate issue was the room temperature. Being rather cental we were able to find a nice restaurant for tea. On return to the room there was a strong smell coming from the bathroom which lingered for the remainder of the stay. The Internet was rather slow and not of great quality. A redeeming factor was breakfast was included, and although it was basic it was rather nice. Not the worst hotel but some improvements could be made. I would recommend for a short stay if on a budget.
