The customer service was excellent, and breakfast very good too. The room was nothing fancy but clean enough and the bathroom good (some more attention to detailed needed to dust behind the bed and around the bathroom fan). Comfy bed. I was put off the health club area as it was down a maze of dingy corridors. The gym looked...

Myself and 6 others attended oriel house for afternoon tea to celebrate my sister in laws hen party. On entering the hotel is does appear that it is tired and in need of modernisation. The room/restaurant we sat in for afternoon tea was empty and did lack atmosphere however it was nice that we could hear each other talking and...

We stayed at The Oriel Hotel for 1 night after purchasing the booking through Groupon. Included in our booking was 1 nights stay and 2 small glasses of wine. Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed and checked in. We were pleasantly surprised by the size of our room, it was huge! It was nice, clean and comfortable. The only very...

I rarely find myself forced to agree with other reviewers but this is the exception. Viewed from the road the this place does not make you want to pull in. Once inside the decor is a little tired, here and there. The room we had was large and comfortable although the flashing led bulb in the bathroom was a bit...

We bought a Groupon spa deal which also promised a superior room (which actually compromised two twin beds pushed together) and access to the spa facilities which includes a sauna and pool only - no steam room/jacuzzi. The sauna was modern and the pool was very pleasant to swim in. Upon our arrival we were told that the pool was...

Great value for money, friendly staff and great hotel. Really enjoyed our stay, the only negatives that could be improved is that the don't change towels everyday unless requesting and our neighbours were talking very late very loud so the walls are quite thin, but otherwise the hotel was quite a quiet place. Also don't recommend for people in wheelchairs...

My husband bought a groupon midweek break as a surprise valentines treat for me. We stayed Tuesday and Wednesday. Our room , 221, was lovely. Huge bed and very clean and tidy room. Our first night we had drinks in the conservatory, oh how I wish I had one of those at home. Was absolutely lovely. Our meal was so...

Hotel very clean. Room Spacious with all facilities you would require although double glazed windows were drafty and a lot of traffic noise from a busy road. Food was excellent with very generous portions although dining room was also chilly. Very helpful friendly staff who were very attentive. Will re-book a short break in the summer months.

Room was in need of refurbishment although the bathroom was a good size. Communal areas also need redecoration etc. Bar & conservatory were highlights and the food was good, even though the chef should know better than to re-grill the breakfast tomatoes. Spa is just about worthy of the title, but subdued lighting in the swimming pool room is a...

Stayed with a friend for one night in a twin room. Old fashioned decor but in line with the feel of the hotel and made it feel comfortable and homely. Lovely conservatory, lounge and bar area. The exterior of the hotel and some areas (pool changing area, corridors) looked like they needed a fresh paint! Best part was definitely the...
