My wife and I have just returned from another amazing weekend in Ashford Castle. It was our third time to visit the incredible hotel. The rooms, restaurants and bars are fabulous. The dinner in The King Georges V Restaurant was fantastic and the meal in the more casual Dungeon Bar/Restaurant was beautiful. What really makes this place so special is the Team. From arrival at the front gates, a welcome before crossing the bridge to the castle, welcome at the front door, really friendly and efficient check in, the bar staff, restaurant staff, room service team.... everyone without exception made the weekend so enjoyable. We could not recommend this place any better. What a special magical hotel. Thanks to the full team at Ashford Castle... You are an incredible group of people. As already stated in my comment card when leaving, it is lovely to stay in a hotel where every member of staff you meet loves their important positions and are very proud of being part of the Ashford family. Cant wait to get back.

Hotel's Favourite
I recently spent two nights in Ashford Castle and what an amazing experience it was. Its a beautiful setting and to add to this we were upgraded on arrival to a room with a spectular view overlooking Lough Corrib. The rooms are spectular. The attention to detail was exceptional on every level. The food was top notch, cleanliness and service faultless, entertainment in the bar each night was superb. Excellent band called the Risers played on the Friday night. Super talented group. Everything from the magnificent floral displays to the amazing chandeliers blew me away but the absolute highlight was the wonderful staff. They really know how to look after guests and always have a smile and a friendly word for everyone. Every staff member is so helpful and professional. We were out on the grounds for a walk and got caught in heavy rain. A car was sent to return us to the castle promptly. I was so impressed. It was a truly memorable trip and I would highly recommend Ashford Castle to anyone and will defnitely be back.

This is the most magical places we have ever stayed in. from the warm greeting at the front gate, (even though he chap must have been freezing, it was very cold out) we knew we were in for a real treat. The food, the staff, the atmosphere and the surroundings are all faultless. I can't wait to return again and not stopped thinking about how lovely it was since. Thank you all the team at Ashford for making it a memorable stay in your magnificent hotel. the breakfast and dinner team in the George V are possibly the best and most professional ive ever encountered and the food and wine was fab. Barstaff were all professional but one of the older barmen stood out as he wasn't as friendly and may have been out of sorts. thankfully this wasnt enough to take away from all of the other staff who worked so hard and made our stay so good.

Second trip here and it didn't disappoint the second time around either. Stayed for 2 nights, if you can stretch the budget, do, it's definitely worth luxuriating in the idyllic surrounds for as long as you possibly can! Every single member of staff go beyond and above to cater to your needs - nothing is too much and it really does feel like a home. Felt very safe with their covid safety protocols in place. Dinner in the Dungeon was a bit underwhelming - not sure what we expected (separate review). Dinner in the George V room was lovely, you're made to feel like kings and queens! Food choices were great and enjoyed not being rushed during the courses. Breakfast also in the George V room was lovely - they have a juice sommelier - who knew such a thing existed! Went on a trek on horseback around the grounds and lake - blessed with the weather and a very sturdy, comfortable cob called Rocky! Staff in the adventure centre friendly, experienced and pleasant to chat to for the hour or so going through the grounds. Walked back from the village along the river - the grounds are really superb, but bring your wellies, especially in winter, can be a bit mucky. Have already started saving for this years trip! Thanks to all the staff who really do make this place even more special.
