One of the best parts of our trip through Cambodia and Laos. We caught the boat from Luang Pabang going upriver to Huay Sai with an overnight stop at Pak Beng. The scenery was spectacular, especially once the cloud lifted. It was cold for us in the mornings but the boat has a supply of ponchos which helped. Food was...

The two day slow boat was an absolutely fantastic way to get to Luang Prabang and the hotel was also incredible considering you are out in the middle of the jungle. Some folks kept to themselves and enjoyed the fabulous scenery floating by, while others chatted it up with the other tourists as we did. Several stops along the way...

Came by boat, difficult to enter the river banks, but the hotel on top was a very pleasant surprise. Splendid bamboo huts with everything needed, beautiful river wiew, good food. Oh what a night inside the mosquito net.

Like most visitors, we arrived as part of a Luang Say river trip package. As such, we paid an all inclusive price, so don't know what the lodge cost per night, but the overall trip was a reasonable value for the money. The lodge itself is well built with lovely teak cabins. All food (and service) was excellent. My only...

We booked the 2-day slow-boat Mekong tour with Luang Say Mekong Cruise and stayed over night at their Lodge. We arrived at 6 pm and left the next morning at 7 am. Too short for the beautiful surrounding. It's located above the Mekong with traditional Lao style 1-bedroom-bungalows, big in size with a hot water shower and a king size...

We stayed here as part of a 2 day trip down the Mekon. The boat itself is well equipped, very clean and it is interesting although it all does blur a little. The overnight stop is at the lodge. We travelled in January expecting the weather to be warm with perhaps cool mornings. It was COLD, very cold. The lodge...

We arrived and once in our chalet noticed that the wiindows had no glass or insect shutters but wooden shutters and the slats could not close as its design was an open slat. This meant we had a freezing cold night and in the height of the summer is be extremely hot as you could not leave the wooden shutters...

Dear Zeenit, Thank you for sharing your comments. We are sorry to hear that you were disappointed by your experience at the Luang Say lodge. When booking the Luang Say cruise, we always send recommendation to our guests to wear warm clothes, especially during this period of the year. Unfortunately, people sometimes under-estimate how cold it can get, and might...

We stayed at the Luang Say Lodge for one night on our cruise from Luang Prabang to Houei Sai. As we were only 4 persons on this trip, we had the entire lodge for ourself. The spacious bungalow was clean and well maintained and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Dinner and breakfast were excellent. The best part of...

We didn't know what to expect when we booked our trip of two day boat ride up the Mekong River. It was very cold in the morning when we got on the boat but we were provided with warm capes to keep us warm. It warmed up later in the morning and the afternoon was actually really pleasant. The three...

Our one night stop over during our Mekong cruise and was quiet and comfortable. We particularly appreciated that the family groups with children were allocated one wing of the hotel, while the couples and lone travellers enjoyed the seclusion of the opposite wing, THANK YOU!! Great view, good food, helpful staff, comfortable room, lukewarm shower. Overall, very enjoyable!
