This Hilton property is immaculately maintained. It was elegant, exceptionally clean and the facility and team processes were well organized. Remodeled within the past two years the rooms were small but well appointed. Highly recommend the premium rooms which offer exclusive pools, restaurants and amenities not available to other guests. Security monitors this closely!

I can’t say enough about the beauty and experience of the water and beach. Calm and clear, clean and spacious or is the best we have experienced in the DR, Mexico, Cozumel and Jamaica. We snorkeled on our own each morning from the beach and around the pier seeing many fish as well as a manatee!!

Good separation of family and adult only areas. The buffet and restaurants are very good - extra costs for better wines or lobster which we didn’t mind. Exclusive restaurants for premium guests were excellent.

Also - get the butler service!! Our butler Danielo was amazing with making reservations for dinners and excursions as well as providing a morning cooler to beach or pool with our drinks of choice. He also surprised us many times with special treats including fruit trays, cocktails served in cantelopes, coconuts, sweet/salty kid snacks and lots of champagne and chocolate for momma!

Other noteworthy staff were Blanca Shedrak and Francesca Lebron with guest services/concierge. In advance of our stay they addressed questions and made special arrangements ahead of time. We were delighted that Blanca took the time to greet us personally on arrival and introduce us to Danielo.

Picasso was a joy and our son truly appreciated him running the batting cage each day so he could stay on top of baseball practice while we were away.

We didn’t want to lose a full day off resort for excursions and Danielo our butler helped us research private options vs. large group tours to customize to our needs. We also took the snorkel trip out in the bay by the resort - incredibly affordable and we were amazed at the diversity of fishes. Our guide was awesome and toured us through Bayahibe afterward.

We spent a lovely long weekend at the Hilton La Romana in mid-January, which was just the escape we needed to get out of Indiana's cold winter. The resort truly feels like paradise with its lovely beach, turquoise waters, gorgeous pools and palm trees at every turn.

The room was a perfect amount of space with a modern design and we liked the couch in our King room where I could sit and do a little computer work when needed. It was nice to step out on the balcony to read and enjoy the warm weather.

There are plenty of places to dine, so you don't get tired of the same thing, including Italian and French restaurants, a steakhouse, pizza place, buffet (very good selection) and adults can walk over to the adults only resort and enjoy those restaurants as well. For an extra treat, book outdoor dining waterside or on the pier. Super romantic!

Our kids loved hanging out at the beach and that's where we spent most of our time, as we couldn't get enough of the view. There is a bit of good snorkeling just past the pier, but I recommend bringing your own gear as they want a cash deposit for snorkeling gear and you can only keep it an hour at a time.

It's about a 45-minute drive from Punta Cana Airport, so if you fly into that airport, you'll need a shuttle or to rent a car.

We had the "butler service," which I highly recommend. We loved our butler, Danilo, who was so friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome. He reserved our spot under an umbrella on the beach each day, brought us water and snacks, escorted us to dinner if we didn't know where we were going, took our bags down when it was time to go and more.

Everyone at the resort were super friendly with that laid-back Caribbean attitude and nearly everyone spoke English, though it's also an excellent opportunity to practice your Spanish :). We also found when we were there we were one of just a few American families with most people from Canada and all over Europe, as well as Russia.

Be sure to only drink bottled water (they provide plenty) rather than the water out of the tap, though it's OK to brush your teeth with.

We hated to leave!
There are lots of activities every day, including exercise classes, foam parties, soccer games, etc. and outdoor shows every night.

Everything was included

We arrived at the hotel on Monday and left on Friday. We were lucky that the hotel was only 20% full for 4 days, and all the pleasures were available to us. Any of the restaurants on the territory of the Family or Adult hotel could be entered for dinner without prior reservation. No queues for drinks in bars. Lots of free sun loungers on the beach. Almost deserted pools in the adult area. And it is not as noisy in the children's territory as it happens when the hotel is fully loaded. This is probably why there was an amazing service, attentive and fast staff, very friendly and polite guys. Delicious quality food, any drinks you wish, free rental of equipment for snorkeling, kayaking and more. Great water park (which was almost empty during our stay), lazy river, 4 great slides, kids area. The sea is extraordinary - clean, calm, very beautiful blue color. The rooms are clean, the beds are quite comfortable, birds live in the roofs and can periodically wake you up at night with their screams. Upon arrival, you will be greeted with champagne (lemonade), you will immediately fill out the forms in order to pass the covid tests for the return flight (if of course you need it) (you will receive a letter in your room with information about the time of your test), the test will be taken to the conference hall in the morning, very fast and convenient. Great manager Maria! She will answer all your questions, she has an excellent memory for faces. Evening entertainment, children's entertainment, live music, many daytime activities. On the territory you will find flamingos, they live by the buffet. Grab a coffee in the lobby bar in the morning, they know how to make it. What you need to know: If you are relaxing with a small child, then you are unlikely to be allowed into adult territory. We traveled with our son (16 years old) and had no problems. But we watched the scene as the guards politely but persistently send families with small children to the territory of the family area. The hotel has free parking, so if you rent a car at the airport it will be very convenient (and much cheaper than a transfer or taxi). We went to the neighboring town of La Romana and visited Altos de Chavon - a very beautiful private town (to get there, you need to ask the hotel staff to book you a time, then it will cost $ 7 / person. If you go there on your own, then the cost is $ 25 / person, and without a reservation may not be allowed).
Overall we really liked this place and this hotel, I give it five stars!

My husband, I, and our 9 year old are coming to the end of our holiday here at Hilton La Romana Premium Club.
I don't generally write reviews, but, we do live by them. I am posting this review because I sincerely wish someone had posted it six months ago when we booked.
Number 1: There are no wristbands here. This was our first time going to the additional exorbitant expense of premium. In the end, it made no difference. All premium services can be used by just walking in, or making up a room number. You don't have a wristband, so it's your word they will accept. This also goes for which color towels you get and how many.
Number 2: Adults Only patrons have full access to all restaurants, pool, and beach areas. However, Family patrons with children have limited options. If you enjoy having dinner with your child, as we do, you are out of luck. The teppanyaki restaurant is one of the restaurants on the adults only side, no kids allowed. My opinion, you can't have it both ways:either make it one resort with an adults only pool and room section, or split the hotel completely and don't allow patrons to go back and forth.
Number 3: The staff are outstanding, truly lovely people. And they are being horribly abused. There is not even one third the staff workforce here required to run this place properly. Everyone from the chefs, to the wait staff, to the bar service are being run off their feet.
In conclusion, all these issues are the direct result of upper management decisions and have completely turned me off using Hilton ever again for our annual holiday.

We had a wonderful family vacation at the La Romana. The resort is great due to its location on the Caribbean Sea with calmer waters and no smelly seaweed problems. The staff everywhere was so kind, helpful and thoughtful.

Some special shout-outs to Carmen and Emilia at the premium pool bar for accommodating our big group, special insulated mugs and general challenges with more than 5 kids. Leonel who handles towels as well helped us understand the System and took care of us when we needed to go on an excursion, especially after my daughter neglected to bring back her towel one day.

We weren’t sure about the Butler when we booked but knowing we had a big group(12) we decided the help might be necessary/appreciated especially with reservations for dinner. Yrani was a gem the entire trip helping us in more ways than I would have imagined. She made sure we we stocked up for the beach with a cooler of water, soft drinks, beer and juice. She visited us at the pool each day with fresh fruit. She did a great job with reservations and recommendations and just help take care of a bunch of little things that made our trip more enjoyable. Given the cost for the whole two weeks certainly well worth the time saving and additional enjoyment.

Amazing trip and we will be back!

We are fan of the golden hour and we are always trying to catch sunsets as part of our leisure and traveling adventure. Since I hadn’t been in Bayahibe in more than a year, we decided to try the newly renovated Hilton La Romana, mostly for its pristine location to catch sunsets in this area of the island. However, the experience was more than great sunsets and way above our expectations. We found a friendly staff that not only smile but is properly trained to anticipate our needs and, the Hilton “CleanStay” program is a promise that you not only see, smell and feel, but a blend of the New Normal with a great service culture and customer experience. The social distancing is present and use of face mask when is needed is gently enforced, not as an authority that makes us feels questioned, but more as a friend that extend us a mask to remind us stay safe where is needed. The newly renovated rooms are perfectly illuminated with lamps and spotlights in the right places as well as generous openings to natural light is you prefer. The Dominican Republic is definitely the warmest and welcoming destination in the Caribbean and this Hilton if for sure a great place to visit and enjoy more than once.

Overall, the hotel made our stay amazing. The rooms were small but the service was fantastic because they really listen to your complaints and requests and try to make your vacation better. The beach is exceptionally amazing because there is no seaweed in this area. The food in the buffet lacks variety but is very good in the restaurants. The entertainment team was my favorite part because they have fun activities in the daytime and put on amazing shows in the night time because they have such great dancers. The team even dances with you before and after the show, and helps you learn salsa, meringue and bachata. Dawin, Daniel, Francisco, Ramy, Esteban and Hector really made this trip awesome.

Pools: The pools were excellent. We especially liked the quieter pool for premium guests, although our son preferred the larger pool. The waterslides and lazy river were a great hit with everyone. The only downside with the pools was that people put towels out to reserve sports at around 7 or 8 AM, and if you don't do that, you will not have a space by the pool. Also, our umbrella was taken by someone once, which was disappointing and ruined our plans to be at the pool all day. I would recommend the hotel get more chairs and umbrellas, or don't allow reserving chairs. We only went to the beach late afternoon, so I don't know if that is a problem. The water park had plenty of seating in the shade.
Food: The food at the resort was delicious, even the buffet. It was some of the best-tasting resort food we have had. There were plenty of options for vegetarians and pescatarians (probably more difficult for vegans to find options). We did not experience a long wait time for the restaurants, except for the Italian one, and that was just about 30 min. I liked the Grill and the Frech restaurant the best. My son is a very picky eater, and there were enough options for him at the restaurants and the buffet. He especially liked the pizza.
Rooms: The king room in the building for premium guests was very nice. Not overly large, but we were not there to spend time in the room, so it was perfect. The balconies had a drying rack for bathing suits, this was a very nice addition that you don't always see, and it keeps people from hanging things off the balcony. There was some noise at night from the evening performances due to the direction our room was facing, but it was not too loud that my son could not fall asleep. The only complaint we have about the room is that there is no soundproofing between rooms (at least on the 3rd floor), so it was like our neighbors were in our room when they were speaking at a regular volume. I liked that this resort did not have a glass door to the bathroom as some resorts do. And I liked that the toilet and sink were in the same room (personal preference).
Spa: The spa was lovely; I don't have others to compare it to as this was my first resort massage. I did the 80-min combination massage, and it was very relaxing. They had a nice menu of spa offerings, including pedicures, massages, facials, and body wraps.
Overall, this was a great resort. I have already recommended it to everyone I know. I want to specifically thank Bienvenido (Benny) in the buffet for his friendly manner and excellent service. He always made sure that we had whatever we needed. I also would like to thank Inverness for a great massage at the spa. Thanks to all the staff, all of whom were friendly and helpful.

This is our 4th time back to Hilton La Romana over the last 11 years. We keep coming back for the location for the well maintained accommodations, grounds, pools and the staff are very attentive to the needs of the guest. We booked our transportation to and from Punta Cana via Dominican Airport Transfers (DAT) and David and Ceasar took great care of us. We found out later that Hilton La Romana can assist with booking your transfer, but we had already booked with DAT since we have booked with them before. Once on property, Hilton takes great care of you and it’s an extra bonus if you are a Hilton Honors Member.

The staff go out of their way to make sure the guest are well entertained, fed, and a beverage in hand. Picasso one of the activities team members, came around everyday to make sure we were up to date on the days activities. Picasso has always made our stay extra special and has a long history working for the resort before Hilton. Esteban from the Fun Team also came around often to check on us since we usually stayed around the Infinity pool and was great to talk too. His heart is in dancing and entertaining the guests. If you need to be kept well watered at the Infinity pool Alexander will be there to regularly keep you well hydrated. The food was excellent and proper Covid food handling protocols were well followed. If you want great service for breakfast and lunch at the main buffet, we found that Benni was so friendly and loved serve.

Make sure you come with tips in hand since the staff work so hard to make your stay the best. The staff put your needs as their top priority and it really shows. Hilton has taken a great resort and made it even better. Housekeeping will keep your room clean and well supplied. We would leave a tip on the water bottle and they would give us extra water each day. We also did not hear our neighbours and found the rooms nice and quiet. They have security everywhere and they do an excellent job at keeping the guest safe and keeping the adult only sections separate from the family section. They have so much for families and to keep the kids busy in the pools and water park. For those that want to be kid free…you will find plenty of room on the resort to meet your needs.

The bay that Hilton is located on always has nice water. I would go snorkelling every day for an hour just along the property and Hilton works with Scuba Caribe and they are excellent for tours off property for Scuba, Snorkelling, trips to Catalina and Saono Islands.

Overall this is our favourite resort to stay at. We have always had a positive experience staying at this resort and Hilton has brought it up to a much higher standard. You will not be disappointed in booking at Hilton La Romana.

It takes careful planning to provide for a safe environment for guests to enjoy themselves in the face of a global pandemic. However the staff at the Hilton are doing a remarkable job. From our initial arrival, our concierge Katherine Mercedes was efficient, graceful and kind to introduce us to the new features of the resort (our third visit) and support staff to ensure a pleasant stay. Ample service from bars to pool to beach. Restaurants and buffet rigorously enforced safety standards, tables distanced, crowd flow metered, and self-service buffet replaced with plexiglass protected service stations manned by kitchen personnel who prepare your individual plates. Masks are mandatory in public spaces. Ansley at the Adults-only pool bar deserves a shout out for excellent Sangria preparation, friendly conversations and recommendations for special rum options. Omar and Juana make excellent cappuccino (try con amoretto) along with snack options. Every bartender is happy to mix what you want in takeaway glasses. The beaches were well groomed each morning with lots of seating options. We snorkeled every day to enjoy time with the fishes, star fish, shells and sea urchins (do not walk in sea grass or on any of the undersea rocks / corals). The beach grill offers juicy burgers and dogs. Try a different restaurant option every night: French,
Italian, Mediterranean, Pan-Asian, and seafood .. bounce around. We did not catch a show but was fun to breeze by them in the evenings. The hotel brings in a variety of local musicians to enhance the ambiance. Finally, do treat yourself to a spa experience. The richly aromatic rooms are meditative and relaxing and the massages excellent.
