Great hotel, wonderfull beach! Beautiful ressort, well maintained gardens and nice "Village like" atmosphere due to all the little bungalows. We did our diving course on the resort, all perfectly arranged and definitely a cool thing to do while there. Food in the a la carte restaurants was great, but a bit unfortunate that there isn't enough place for everyone to at least do al the restaurants during a 2 week stay. Food in the buffet is OK, personally I would like a bigger buffet (more choice) for the amount of guests staying there. Beach and pool(s) all perfect. Drinks are good but sometimes the lines can be quite long, and I got the impression that some bartenders didn't want to make (or didnt know?) all the cocktails and just gave you something that is convenient at the moment or tells you they can't make that one. After dinner the movida latina (salsa bachata merengue dancing from 8 till 9pm every evening) was great, one of the highlights of our vacation. The shows varied a bit in quality, but the animation crew all did their best to make it enjoyable. Lion King and Magic Kingdom shows are the best we saw. The guys doing the air acrobatics are amazing. After the shows there is always a party at the plaza with rotating themes, with al the guests dancing with the animation crew. A few animators/dancers really stood out to us: Liloo and Yancarlos really carried the dancing part of the shows. Babyface knows how to play the audience and gave everybody a good laugh, while also being a great dancer. We are going back soon because we had a great vacation! Little points that could be improved/ideas to make it even greater: Air-conditioning is pretty loud. Not possible to get a drink at the bar before 10 in the morning (juice or softdrink I mean, don't need a cocktail at 9am) Daily dancing classes are great, but would be even better if you would teach real authentic dominican bachata, not the "westernised" version of just stepping left and right, spice it up with some dominican flavour. More choices in the buffet restaurant, and an extra spot to get a snack during the day(line can get very long in the afternoon)

No welcome drink, reception struggled to find our booking, were very unfriendly, unhelpful. We were told to go and find the rooms ourselves, no bellboy service! The "Superior" double rooms were quaint, but in need of a dire makeover and update. The bathroom had several points that staff need to consider. The sink plug was broken, the shower was rusty, toilet seat was wobbly. In the bedroom, two nice big beds, however, so close to the wardrobe it was hard to open. Lack of hangers, storage space and wonky cupboards. Nice garden veranda to sit in. The safe was chargeable to use at 2$/night. The restaurants were pretty much all the same. You are only allowed to book 3 Al a Carte restaurants in the week. The best one by far was 25. The worst one, La Rocha. Service diabolical. The buffet restaurants were OK, but food a bit bland and the same everyday. Pools - nice and clean and plenty of sunbeds, however, no umbrellas if you wanted shade, you had to go and sit somewhere completely different. The poolside bar was minimal. Staff unfriendly again unless you were French or Spanish. Entertainment - not good. Very loud and goes on into the early hours. Watered down drinks and minimal choice. Red wine does not go in the fridge!!! Trip to the TUI private island was great. Good, friendly staff and entertainment. Best day of our week. Overall, good complex, spread out, and lovely by the beach. Drinks were watered down, and when will they learn that red wine does not belong in the fridge!!!

Just got back from a two week break at this resort with my husband. I am going to give a honest review firstly with the resort itself. The grounds are well kept went to the ala cart restaurants and they was all nice our favourite was 25 staff was really friendly. The main restaurant for buffet was ok always found something and the cakes was to die for really nice. Beach lovely with clear blue sea but can get really busy but if you walk up a bit to the right you can find a quieter spot. Now for the not so good. We had a superior double room looking over the gardens however the rooms are dated and need a refurbishment the furniture is old and dark with marks on and there is one chair which had stains on. Where the dressing table is there is no socket so ladies if you need to straighten your hair you have got to move chair over to where the big mirror is. The bathroom is also dated cracked tiles in places. The first few days we had issues we waited two days for an ironing board we had to keep asking. Then the hairdryer in bathroom tripped a switch. The door would not lock properly so please check when leaving your room so we had to get them to fix that and the reception on the Television was terrible all fuzzy managed to get one good station . We reported this and it took 4 days for someone to come and they said we will check the reception and we never seen them again . Just lots of little issues that the hotel need to be looking at they need to concentrate on the rooms . Also look out for the guys in the green shirts they will be all friendly and will do anything for you but there’s a catch they are trying to get you to timeshare . It’s a shame because the hotel is nice and beach lovely but it can get really busy so if you just want a relaxing holiday it’s probably not for you. And the customer service is not really the best. Oh one more tip befor I finish if you like your English Tea take your own teabags as the first week there was none only fruit teabags . Would I come back to this resort probably not .

The resort was in a great location with stunning well kept gardens around the bungalows. The bungalow, our one at least, was shabby with an outdated bathroom, cracked tiles, tired sanitary ware and generally well overdue a complete makeover. Both the bedroom and bathroom had been repainted recently without any effort to avoid splashing paint on the furniture or woodwork. Clearly done by someone who had either never painted before or couldn't really care less. The queues at the bars were not acceptable nor was the running out of certain spirits and wines on a regular basis. Often the bar staff seemed to be unfriendly/rude and slow at their jobs. The self service restaurants were good without being exceptional and with a great choice of dishes to suit all. The à la carte restaurants were all excellent and if you were to chose only one, then 25 would be the best of them all. The house wines were dreadful so avoid! All in all, and for the price paid, you could do much worse and a good 14 days was had.

After the past 2 years of hell with restrictions we were so excited to be going on vacation! We are a family of 4 adults and we stayed in the superior room which was great we ha vaulted ceiling’s with a sitting area and a very large balcony . The beach was beautiful and water was great some seaweed but if you go out a little it’s better, the food was subpar at the very least, we ate the same food every day breakfast lunch and dinner. The food looked dry and old and not appealing at all and if you have any dietary restrictions forget it!! We went to 3 Restaurants the fusion was amazing! The servers made a meal for my daughter because of her diet restrictions very thoughtful and attentive next was the Mediterranean awful!!! Food was not tasty and minimal amounts they forgot my wine, didn’t know what a strawberry Daiquiri was our server had to ask??? The last one was the Mexican the food was ok nothing special our waiter did bring my daughter a special plate of food which was awesome. The wait staff in the buffet didn’t make eye contact and to get cutlery was a joke, we took bets to see how long it would take, there were a couple of servers that were nice and smiled and would be helpful. The people in the green shirts hounded us for 2 days finally I agreed to go have breakfast in the VIP section (no different then regular buffet) the restaurant was beautiful but again vip only. The pools that I saw when booking online were vip only, did t know that when booking. Those are the pools you want not the main one with little munchkins playing in and having fun (family pool) the tour was not 1 hour but 3! When checking out we paid $4 per day for our safe which I’ve never had to pay at any resort. Lastly once we arrived at the airport we got in-line at the Sunwing check in and we’re told $20 US dollars per person to leave??? I asked ok is there a bank machine the lady said yes beside the pharmacy I said ok I’ll be back the lady then said wait the machine only gives out Dominican peso’s you will have to exchange the money? I said the machine only gives out in the departures? Ok where can I change the money she said don’t worry this man (the janitor) will help you, I thought SCAM, ok I asked I have 20 dollars how much do I pull out to get 60 US dollars she said $4500 Dominican peso’s, so off my husband and I went to the machine we pull out the money and low and behold the man has $60 US dollars in hand. When we came home I was speaking with some friends and the looked at the exchange rate and $4500 peso’s comes out to $82 US dollars!!! SCAMMED at the punta Cana airport by the Sunwing reps! I will never fly Sunwing again. The flight crew were awesome so this has nothing to do with them I give them a 10+++ rating but the reps in Dominican -10. We were so exactas a family to finally go away to have those things ruin it are disgusting. Now we are the type of family to make the best so we would joke at every meal ok what’s everyone having today and it was I’m having bread with cucumbers and cooked ham or eggs with cooked ham and cucumbers and bread. I was really disappointed with this trip especially a Wyndham resort. Very surprising.
