The walk on the canopy bridge is breath taking. It give a great view of the forest with sound of birds chirping, rivers flowing and monkeys jumping across trees. Cool air which is fresh. Gushing soft winds from all the sides. A breath taking experience.

Just close your eyes and image a beautiful, modern, yet classic wooden house (resort) situated on top of a large tea plantation bordering with the Nuyngwe National Rainforest. It is not easy to get there, but once you are there, you are in paradise. The rest of our time staying t

real luxury hotel, beautifully designed, so gorgeous you don't want to leave, staff incredibly nice, activities on site...but food really sub-optimal given the price paid...infinity pool facing the forest is one of a kind, absolutely spectacular

This lodge is a gem. It was absolutely beautiful. The lodge is situated amongst tea plantations. It's quite a journey by road depending on where you are travelling from. We were driving from the volcanoes national park and it was quite a long drive. The lodge is modern, tastefull

I am planning a 3 day stay, doing the chimpanzee trek, waterfall trek and possibly other(s). If I arrive at the Nywenge Forest Lodge by public transport, will I need to hire (and is it available) separate transportation to each of these treks, or is that provided by the Lodge? Thanks
is this area suitable for younger children (5 and 7)? We are travelling as a family to Rwanda and wondering about coming and seeing the rainforest?
Yes! Do it with no reservations! They will be in heaven! But as a teacher, make them read a little together about the monkeys so that they will be even more excited to see them. Have fun!!

I got two very helpful answers to my question about whether the chimp trek in Nyungwe requires gaiters/pants/jackets, like the trek with the gorillas. BUT, they gave opposite advice! Are there different areas for the chimps, some difficult and some on paths? Does the time of year (we will be there Feb. 20) make the difference? One reply says the lodge sells jackets; does it also sell gaiters and pants, or are we better off bringing such with us? Thanks again.
Good Day Thank you for getting in touch. Yes, you will need to have gaiters, pants and jackets like a trek to the gorillas. There are different areas for the chimps with some easy to moderate as well as some difficult paths depending on where there are chimp sightings . The time of the year does not make a difference for chimp trekking. Ultimately, it is better to bring your own trekking gear as we do not have them at the lodge. We are staying with you for two nights in February and have arranged for chimpanzee treks. What do you recommend for clothing and gear? We will have been to see the gorillas, and the lodge there provides protective clothing, such as jackets and gaiters. Do we need those to go on Chimp treks, and if so, can we get them at your Lodge? Thank you very much.
Good day Thanks for getting in touch. Yes you will need to have gaiters, pants and jackets. We recommend bringing your own trekking gear as we do not sell them at our lodge. Hope this helps. Regards Neil

What is the square footage of the rooms?
As per the answer above, the rooms were very spacious - one of the larger rooms i have ever stayed in. I would think the entire suite was at least 50-60 square meters. Overall one of the better hotels i have stayed in and highly recommended
