Been coming here for 15 years and I've never had a bad meal. It's just got better over the years, love the atmosphere which is great for families, couples, anyone really even if you are on your own! Food choice is wide and varied and good value. Their speciality is Gin tasting and they have over 360 varieties of Gin!

Was passing and called in for a quick lunch, we actually drove passed but when we saw the car park full turned round down the road and came back. So glad we did. The food was so good and interesting we stayed for far longer than we intended. They had several hand pumped beers that were excellent and about 400...

Saw the reviews and we just had to try this place out - well we were not disappointed. Fabulous food, very friendly staff, totally dog friendly, real character old school house charm! The share platter to start was almost a meal in itself, worth every penny, each of us had different mains, game suet pudding, venison, steak and haddock, every...

This was our first time visiting the Cholmondeley Arms, and we will definitely be back. We had the cosiest seats by the fire, service was truly fantastic - we were never left waiting for wanting for anything. Food was rich, unique, and delicious. We also stayed for the bonfire night celebrations with fireworks and live music which was also wonderful....

This very popular small hotel sits on its own in pleasant Cheshire farmland, once an estate school (now bar and restaurant) and headmaster's house (now accommodation, just a few metres away). There are only a few rooms, but the bar and restaurant were full of enthusiastic locals greatly enjoying the great food and great ambience. Both the hotel and rooms...

Rare night out with children and we thought we'd give the Cholmondeley Arms a try having not been there for ages. What a brilliant evening! Eye boggling choice of gins and the knowledgeable barman helped me choose something crisp and refreshing as an aperitif. The menu was full of gorgeous options but I had the very yummy fish pie with...

Quirky building and room which was quite cold when we arrived but weather had just turned for the worst. Had to ask for heating to be put on which they did. Unfortunately when we returned from dinner at 10pm it was off and chilly. Next morning heating was on but as we were on holiday and having a 'lie in'...

Really well presented school conversation. The place has so many quirky decorating elements there are lots of things to look at and talk about. We went on a Tuesday lunch time, it was pleasantly busy. All the staff were pleasantly friendly. We had the venison and a sirloin both beautifully presented and perfectly cooked. Can't wait to return.
