My daughter and I have just spent 5 lovely days in this beautiful hotel.
All the staff were so welcoming and friendly.
The hotel was so clean and the food was gorgeous. We went for half board and it was well worth doing.
The pool bar food was nice on a lunchtime and the drinks were very reasonable.
All the staff in this hotel work really hard.
I had read the reviews of English people not being treated like other nationalities but that is so untrue. We had a great time here.
The rooms are very spacious and the beds very comfortable.

This hotel is well maintained, immaculately clean and has a high standard of food on offer. We (a couple of seniors) stayed in a Junior Suite Room 201) which was spacious and had a nice sunny balcony in the evening with a partial sea view which overlooked the hotel entrance onto a lively street which was great for people watching. We opted for half board which is good value when compared to many of the local restaurants which offer poor quality food at exorbitant prices. There is a good size swimming pool with basic loungers. However, we were the wrong demographic for this hotel and based our choice on our previous Riu experiences. This hotel hosts predominantly German guests (we did not meet any other English people) and the clientele consisted of quite a few large groups of 'matching' young men. While the majority were pleasant, out to party and have a good time, there were a few older group leaders who spoilt the atmosphere by being obnoxiously loud and attention seeking. Many were celebrating the Euros football and throughout the resort the chanting went on all day. It was disappointing when the scheduled evening entertainment (3 or 4 nights per week) was substituted for the German football matches on a big screen and a guitarist played during dinner. You are allowed to visit entertainment in neighbouring RIU hotels which offer half board (not all inclusive). Lovely soft sand beach and calm sea to swim in. Great shoe shop near hotel,
Now for the points which led to our review being only satisfactory. We honestly felt let down and being used as cash cows. On arrival we paid for our week's room rental, half board and tourist tax which was 1911.62 euros (all taxes included) plus 729 points as we are Riu members in STERLING. We expected a slightly lower exchange rate but no one indicated this would add more than 10% to the bill ... nearly £200 by my calculation as our bill was £1849 on arrival. I would not advise anyone to do as we did and when asked if we wanted to pay in Euros or Sterling say sterling as the penalties are too high and you are not advised of this extra charge in addition to a low rate of exchange. You are then required to hand over 12 euros to use the safe in your room and 20 euros (returnable) to rent 2 pool towels which are 'not to be taken to the beach'. The poolside bar is happy to serve copious amounts of alcohol in breakable glasses by the pool but tells off some young girls who are drinking their own plastic bottle of water as it was not purchased at the hotel. No rooms in this hotel have kettles so bring your own if you want a decent cup of tea. Use public transport as parking really competitive unless you have a disabled sticker. Only 2 euros for public bus every 20 minutes to Palma but 30 euros in a taxi. Get on the return bus by the fountain roundabout near the Cathedral as it fills up at later stops.

We have just returned from the beautiful Island of Majorca and a stay at Riu Concordia, Cami De Les Merivelles. We had read all the previous reviews (good and bad) and must be honest that we were slightly dreading what what we might find in the local area. We booked the holiday through Tui and trusted that they would really have done their research on not just the hotel, but also the area. We are a family of four with two teenagers (15 & 18) and we were looking for comfort, sunshine and some good food with a half board arrangement. All of the staff at Riu Concordia were really amazing and could not have gone any further to make us feel welcome and if we could give them 10 stars we would!! The food is really good and we were offered a large variety of different dishes every day. The head chef was really helpful to my wife who is coeliac and has to avoid gluten. He took her on a daily tour of the dishes and pointed out which ones were gluten free and provided gluten free rolls and muffins on request and this was a really nice and helpful touch! During our stay we met Germans, French, Dutch and several other nationalities (not very many from the UK). The area (mentioned in other reviews) is quite lively you would need to be careful at night (and also during the day) as you are very likely to encounter some quite rowdy party groups (mainly German), but they are just simply out seeking some fun in the sun (we were all young once!!). A couple of times in the pool we observed some very drunk young adults (mid twenties) basically trying to ruin the day for everyone else. All credit to the hotel staff as they actually stepped in and tried to get the people involved out of the pool (not easy when they have been drinking all day). We went off to Palma and really enjoyed this beautiful city (cathedral, harbour and old town) for a couple of days and also hired a car and explored some of the other amazing places in Majorca (Cala D'or & Cala Anguila). The buses can get very busy (in August when we visited), so we would suggest planning your days out carefully and going quite early to miss the high temps and crowded public transport. So our summary would be well done to all the staff at the Riu Concordia for making our holiday such an amazing experience and we used this lovely hotel as a base to explore Palma and the wider island. Note of caution I (and for all Tui Holiday advisors): If you stay really local in Playa de Palma you are most likely to experience some of the more seedy sights and sounds mentioned in previous reviews.

My first time in Palma I wanted to be in the middle of everything, and it was just the situation this hotel is in. You are 25min from the center of Palma. And 30-40 minutes from the best beaches and coves. I rented a vehicle. It does not have private parking service, but you can leave the car around at no cost.
2 blocks away they have a spectacular beach with sun loungers and umbrella rental service.
I hired Half Pension, to emphasize that the drink is paid separately. The buffet is super varied and the quality is its Badge. There are sticks in individual portions, there are options for celiacs or gluten free. All flawless.
The room is very comfortable and the bathroom too. It has a small balcony. Notable room cleaning service is the fastest I have seen in hotels !!!
All facilities are spotless, there is nothing to complain about.
An IMPORTANT and super favorable detail is that they have complimentary BATHROOM service for those who leave room at 12 noon and have afternoon-night Flights. They give you all the comforts of a hotel bathroom (towel, towel, soap, and hairdryer).
I would come back without hesitation!

Both the hotel and the room showed that it had been renovated, we liked it a lot. The staff we dealt with were very friendly, especially at reception and in the dining room. The breakfasts and dinners were very good, there was a lot of variety and good quality. The only two buts I can say is that the coffee served at breakfast is water with some coffee, a coffee machine would be nice for those who like real coffee. And the first night we spent, at 6:40 you could already hear the cleaning cart down the hallway and next to our room (at least it seemed that way) it seemed too early to wake you up if you've gone to rest.

I recently stayed at this hotel and overall, it was a mixed experience.
The staff were friendly and welcoming, which made a good first impression. The hotel's decor in the lobby, restaurant, and pool area was beautiful and added to the pleasant atmosphere. The hotel's location is convenient, being close to the beach and having a bus stop right next to it.
One aspect I particularly appreciated was the ability to take a shower and store luggage after checking out. However, the luggage storage system concerned me as it was unmonitored, with no tags or ID checks required to retrieve belongings.
The cleanliness was acceptable, but the shower tap was covered in limescale. Additionally, the soundproofing was poor, and my partner was frequently woken up by noise from the hallway at night.
The food was quite bland, and there was little that I enjoyed. Despite not being a picky eater, I found that most dishes were excessively greasy or oily. This could be problematic for those with sensitive stomachs. The coffee at breakfast tasted like instant coffee and was not enjoyable.
Despite my criticisms, I can say that considering the standard of the area, the hotel is decent, and we got what we paid for. A word of warning or delight, depending on your perspective: "Bierkungen" is right next door, which influences the hotel's clientele. Do your research if you're traveling to Mallorca.

Well let's start with the good things... The hotel has been refurbished recently so all the facilities were really good and modern! The staff was amazing, always so friendly and accommodated our requests. The food was really good too, and they changed the dinner menu every day, really pleased with that.
Now the bad part which makes us not want to go back at all... the Germans! The hotel and playa de Palma in general is full of young drunk Germans. We paid for a large room in a 4 star hotel and we were wakened at 2am and 4am with loud Germans shouting in the hallway. On the second day, we had a party going on next to our room at 3am! The music was so loud that pretty much all the hotel could hear it! We called reception straight away and the staff said that they have already received complaints and were going to take action. They went to the room and thankfully stopped the party. We requested another room the day after which they kindly accepted but even being in a room more tucked away we could hear the Germans getting in from their night outs because they were always shouting. I slept really bad all week always being awakened by these unpolite Germans and that made my holiday not as good as I expected. Overall, we loved everything besides the people staying at the hotel which was mostly as described above and really disturbed our holiday. We are a 30 years old couple, but we went there to relax, enjoy the food, the swimming pool and the beach. If this is your idea of holidays, don't go to this hotel or playa de palma in general. Such a shame, as the staff and the hotel facilities have a lot to offer.

The Riu Concordia is a warm and very pleasant hotel, with modern and spacious spaces. The entire staff is particularly friendly, which makes all the difference! Congratulations to the entire team and particularly to Juanma at reception, to Jesus in the kitchen and to Duly for the room service!
The hotel's facilities are very satisfactory, although the gym is rather small.
The cleanliness of the hotel is impeccable, but a small downside is the dust that the cleaning staff leaves in certain places in the room, such as on the white wall lights at the head of the bed. In short, nothing serious.
The hotel is ideally located a few meters from the beach, next to the bus stop for line 25 which takes you to the cathedral, and a stone's throw from the stop for line 23. This takes you at the Spanish Steps which is the nerve center of all bus lines.
RIU CONCORDIA - ONLY HAPPINESS!!!

I knew this hotel where I had stayed several times with great pleasure in the 80s as well as in neighboring hotels such as Le Festival, Le San Francisco (Le Bali, Sofia... formerly part of the RIU chain). Things Buffets have evolved more popular today instead of table service as in the past... I will continue to recommend this chain of hotels to my friends. An important improvement: the soundproofing of the rooms protects against noise problems linked as always to a young German clientele that is still as friendly but just as full of energy as before.

What an excellent hotel. It stands out because of the amazingly cheerful and helpful staff. From the minute we checked-in we were made to feel welcome. Every member of staff greets you with a smile, and the reception team are super-helpful. Just brilliant people right through the place.
The rooms are spotless and the cleaning regime is first rate. The food is consistently good with plenty of choice. The restaurant staff and bar staff are attentive and work tirelessly. Wi-fi connection is also good.
The entire area is aimed at a German clientele. Every bar, every restaurant, every shop and supermarket. This hotel is a calm oasis located at the edge of a bustling and noisy neighbourhood of clubs and bars, and is a good base for exploring Palma and other areas. We look forward to returning.

Scottish Highlands, United Kingdom113 contributions53 helpful votesHi, If the weather permits and it turns out to be pleasantly sunny in February or March, are the Sun loungers available to lie on, or are they stored away until high season.
Sun loungers are abundant and surround the pool and are also located on an elevated platform close to the pool.
I’m not 100% sure if they are available in February.. but you could check with the hotel directly by mail.
