I have stayed in HM tropical by myself for 5 days and it was absolutely perfect.
The location is great, it’s just 20 min bus ride to the center of Palma with a bus stop across the street and 2 bus stops away from the party area of the Playa. While being close to all the main attractions it is located in a quiet and less crowded part, which to me was great. What’s more, the hotel is on the front sea line with a beach and the sea just across the road - so you can easily change between the pool and the sea! The are also a few little souvenir/snack shops few steps away and a couple of restaurants and bars.
Speaking of, the food in the hotel was fantastic! There was plenty to choose from for breakfast and dinner, which also had theme nights like japanese, mexican or majorcan. I would certainly recommend going for a half-board with dinner included as it’s less hustle, great value for money and food was delicious.
The staff was super friendly and nice and very welcoming and made me feel cared for :)
I also loved the boho design of the hotel, it was simple yet stylish and bright. The facilities are great too. There is a larger swimming pool on the ground flow with the exit to the beach and a bar, and a smaller pool on the rooftop with a great atmosphere, a bar and fantastic views. They also had a dj playing there lounge/house music several evenings which made the vibe even better.
Overall I’m super glad about my stay and I had a perfect time even though I was traveling solo!

Me and my sister stayed at this hotel during the height of the pandemic therefore we really did not know what to expect as it is an unusual situation. We were pleasantly surprised at how relaxing and normal it was. Of course we had to wear our masks when walking around the hotel and when ordering at the bar but for the most part, it was a mask-free environment. The first point and the absolute most positive point I will make is how professional, helpful and friendly the staff at the hotel are. I did not see any of them take their masks off the whole time, and in 30+ degree heat, that is a massive achievement. They are so hard working and always made us feel comfortable. The room was more than big enough for 2 of us, it was clean and comfortable. The pool area was cleaned every morning, the sun beds were laid out and it was really presentable. The restaurant was light, clean and comfortable. The food was delicious with plenty of choice for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Unfortunately due to Covid-19 you could not help yourself to the food which created a tiny bit of a delay when getting it as they had to serve it up. But considering the current situation, they are only doing what they have to do to keep their guests safe. The drinks selection was more than adequate enough. The beach is a very short walk across the road from the hotel and there are plenty of amenities surrounding the hotel i.e. bike hire, shops, bars and restaurants. The only thing we did notice was the lack of entertainment in the evening, most people just sat in the bar area or around the pool as there wasn't much else to do. Now we were not sure whether that was due to the pandemic or whether that was just the way it was. If you have children, you possibly would have to go out of the hotel in the evening for entertainment. Overall we both had a wonderful holiday and we wouldn't have changed any of it. We would definitely go back there.

As one of the first UK visitors to the Hotel we were obviously a bit sceptical about what to expect . Firstly the hotel is immaculate with stringent measures in place but these in no way spoilt the holiday . Secondly the pool staff ensure that beds are not held ransom with “towels” all day and no sunbathers. Most importantly was Julian whose first day it was when we arrived . Not only was his English superb but his courteous and friendly manner made us all feel relaxed from day 1. He went above and beyond what would be expected from a waiter and always greeted us by our names . Also would like to mention Valentina who was exceptionally friendly with our teenage children . The only negative was that half our party (adults) changed to board only basis part way through the holiday due to limited choice and restrictions on the food and drinks. The hotel however were happy to refund without quibble.

The location and proximity to the sea with beautiful views is the only positive thing I can say about this hotel.
The restaurant policy was the weirdest I’ve seen. The tables had no cutlery ready for incoming guests, instead, you had to sit down with your food and wait for someone to bring cutlery. Which was not ideal, as food was going cold (not to mention it was cold the minute it was taken out of the buffet!) and the restaurant staff weren’t happy when you walked over to ask them for a few knives and forks.
Dinner had no drink included, even a water machine was off which was a rip off to the guests!
We booked through the hotel’s official website, mainly because we had an evening flight home and they offered late check-out (subject to availability when booking through the website). I was told to check availability on the morning of check-out, which I did and was told that the hotel is full and that they can only extend my check-out by 1 hour… The hotel was not full as there were numerous rooms available on booking.com or their website for that night. If they don’t want to offer it then I don’t see why it’s advertised, just take the false information off your website and DO NOT LIE PEOPLE IN THEIR FACE.
Another disappointment during checkout was that apparently our room had an outstanding bill which was not correct as we’d been paying for everything on the spot with a different card. When I asked to see my signature, the receptionist asked me to put my signature on a piece of paper and compared with the signatures on the bills, which were completely different but she still doubted those weren’t our bills. At last she sorted it and murmured ‘sorry about the mistake’. Not the kind of customer focus, preciseness and welcoming attitude I had experienced in other hotels around the globe.
Definitely not staying in this hotel or hotel chain ever again, nor will I recommend it to my family or friends.

i booked the hotel through Jet 2 and everything went well. The hotel is very modern and spotlessly clean. The service was excellent and the location was super, directly next to the beach. however the lifeguard was terrible. He was rude and power crazy. He was watching everybody like a hawk. If you got up off your sunbed he timed how long you left it unattended and if it was 15 minutes he removed your towels from the beds. I heard people go up to.him to ask permission to have a swim in the pool He just picked up people's personal belongings and carried them off. The whole poolside experience was stressful and unnecessary. I accept that leaving beds unattended for long periods of time is unacceptable but 15 minutes is ridiculous. Holidays are supposed to be relaxing and the poolside experience was far from that.

In reference to the lifeguard, first of all apologize if he felt persecuted, it is true that he is controlling the pool and his job is to monitor. As for the hammocks due to sanitary restrictions and safety distances, the space has been reduced to be able to have sun loungers, Therefore, every so often a hammock is checked that is not occupied for too long without anyone used since other customers wait for it (and I am not saying that was the case). The place is walking distance to beach and has a swimming pool and facilities and rooms are clean. The staff are friendly, approachable and speak in different language. But the things we did not like about this hotel were; 1. The bed cover is not sufficient, it’s thin. 2. The breakfast is not that great, some food are overcooked and bland. 3. This is the first hotel we encountered where we need to pay for using a safe that cost €3 a night. 4. If you want to use beach towel you need to deposit in cash €10 each towel. 5. Sometimes there’s only 1 staff working in reception who do the check in, check out, answer phone calls and making receipt for beach towel so in the end you need to wait longer for you to be attended. 6. If you ask the hotel staff for rental car they will contact the rental car shop which connected with them but the day you need the car, it’s not available. 7. The night before we check out the whole building has no power and they don’t have a generator as back up so elevator is out of service and only way is to use the stairs, no Aircon or WiFi, and it’s so hot like we’re in 30°C that time. So overall it’s okay but I don’t think we will return again in this same hotel.

I have stayed at the HM Tropical 5 times over the last 8 years, it is simply unbeatable. The location, staff, food, pool area everything is superb. The location on the beach front is excellent and ideal for a walk along the promenade. The rooms are very clean and the housekeeping efficient. The breakfast is varied and all food seemed freshly prepared daily. There are themed nights for evening meals as well as the usual selection of hot and cold dishes to choose from. The dining room staff are very attentive, most have been there since before our first stay and any business that can retain staff over that period of time must be doing something right. Bike hire is available at the hotel and we cycled along the beach front 8k cycle path directly in Palma which is an absolute joy. This is a quiet and peaceful hotel, I am in my fifties and most of the guests were around that age. There were no young groups and only a few young families which suited our group. The roof top pool are is great, a DJ played good music there and the bar serves drinks up to 11 ish. Finally, the location is ideal with a good variety of local shops, bars and restaurants all nearby. We had lunch in the beachside Balnearios which is situated directly outside the hotel and on the beach. All in all it’s top marks from me, a great hotel and very good value, I’ve stayed in more expensive hotels that don’t come up to the standards of HM Tropical. Well done HM Tropical, we will definitely be returning. Oh, it was my birthday whilst we were there and a bottle of bubbly and two glasses was delivered to my room on the morning and a cake and candle at our evening meal, brilliant!

Booked a front sea view room directly with hotel for a four-night break. On arrival at around 10pm the check in was quick and easy, guy on reception told us about meal times and gave us a code for the free safety deposit box. Breakfast was excellent with varied hot (some of the food could of been warmer) and cold choices; we didn't order evening meals so cannot comment Hotel is in a very good location, supermarkets close by and restaurants within walking distance, pool areas are clean and staff seemed nice and friendly. The sky bar is a great spot for relaxing and for pictures, on our last day we booked a Bali bed for 44 euro, not a bad price as it included four beers and fruit skewers. No real complaints on the hotel as it seemed good value and the staff (especially the cleaners) were polite and friendly Hoping to return next year

This is a truly beautiful hotel. Everything is extremely clean and they are following all new hygiene rules brilliantly, we felt very safe. It is in a great location, the beach is just across the road and there are plenty of restaurants and little shops along the promenade. there is also a great supermarket opposite the main entrance. The pool is huge and there are plenty of sun beds around. Rooms are clean and bright, they could do with a mirror by the dressing table but everything else was great. The maids cleaned every day. All the staff are fantastic, they will help in any way they can and all work extremely hard. Rafael on reception was very helpful and friendly. Fabiola in the restaurant is great and there was a lovely girl from Uruguay who served us drinks. The rooftop area is gorgeous for evening drinks, the view is spectacular. We only had breakfast here but everything was cooked perfectly, lots of choice for different tastes and nationalities, staff in the restaurant were extremely efficient. Highly recommend this lovely hotel!
