This is a beautifully renovated hotel with stunning views and wonderful service from Sandra and her staff. If you're a history buff-it's great, if you're a foodie it's even better but if you just want to sit and look at the most beautiful scenery imaginable this is for you too. The rooms are spotlessly clean and are light and airy,... More

This is a fantastic hotel which hits all the spots - in terms of service, accommodation, food and friendliness. We arrived after a long day of travelling and couldn't have been made more welcome. The room was beautiful with fantastic views of the mountains. I have to say I have never had a nicer breakfast anywhere I've stayed - everything... More

Beautiful setting, fantastic food, excellent rooms and a wonderful welcome. We toured Northern Spain and this was the best hotel we stayed in. Magnificent in every respect. Don't miss it! The rooms are spacious with wonderful closed balconies for a spectacular view across the valley.

This family owned hotel is a great experience for those like us who were looking for a fine country retreat. Fantastic historic building dating back to the inquisition, dogs, horses, views and most of all - hospitality. It's out of town so book dinner with great cook and hostess Sandra who uses all locally grown produce. Breakfast is a treat.... More

Wonderful building which the current owners have renovated themselves to an extremely high quality. The views from the bedrooms are spectacular and guests are offered several delightful options for sitting and relaxing with a quiet drink. Breakfasts are enormous, consisting of fresh fruits, meats, breads and Spanish omelettes. Each evening we were treated to a home cooked 3 course meal... More

We stayed with 4 friends. It was our first stop after a long ferry crossing and although there had been a little confusion with our booking the welcome was warm and genuine. Lovely rooms, friendly people and fantastic home made food with excellent fresh ingredients plus home baking. Sandra also makes excellent cocktails - what not to like?

The room is large, lighting and ventilation good and it is quiet. There is a true full size bed rather than two pushed together twins. Wifi signal is excellent and the armchairs comfortable. We have a shared balcony with a view out to ocean and valley. Down side is the bathroom, a very modest shower and no place to stash... More

This hotel is relatively easy to find but accesible only with a car, its up a minor road inland from the coast at Colunga. Its near enough to be a base for the coast and have lovely hillside views in the evening. We stayed for two nights including dinner. Dinner starts at 21.30 which is quite common in the area... More

Sandra Cuestra runs this charming country hotel in the beautiful countryside near Colunga. It has great old world rustic charm and in the words of its owner, "time stands still here." All rooms are superb and if you are lucky, you might get the one with its own entrance to the private chapel ! Sandra is the perfect hostess for... More
