Absolutely wonderful B&B in the centre of Aussois, recommended to us by a mountain guide in La Plagne as a change from the 'big resorts'. The entrance is dark - like entering a cave - for some reason making me think of hobbits! But the dining room and bedrooms are light and bright with fabulous views. Our room was large,...

Our stay at La Roche du Croue could not have been more memorable and relaxing. After Rome and Florence, Aussois is peaceful quiet and very friendly. Our host, Claire, was so wonderful. She made us an authentic Savoie dinner with regional ingredients and lettuce from her garden. She recommended a great half day hike nearby. We took the chairlift up...

Following a transatlantic flight to Milan we scheduled an easy, spectacular three hour drive into the Alps for a couple of days at La Roche Du Croue to regain our equilibrium before travel to Provence and onward to Italy. This modern B&B is a remodeled farm structure from the 1700’s with original stone walls and ceilings whose rooms look out...

The cellar of La Roche de Croue has the type arched ceiling of a 'cave' that looks over fields and then mountains. The rooms have the same nice view and are simple, but comfortable. The hotel is a very charming place and very good value for money. The proprietor is extremely helpful and friendly, particularly because the village was almost...

Nine of us were hiking a section of the GR5 over 12 days and I had booked all the accommodation in advance. Aussois was slightly off our route but I had stayed in Aussois several years ago when hiking the "Tour of the Vanoise" so fancied a trip down memory lane. We arrived in pouring rain and Claire pulled out...

I booked a triple room via email, and Claire phoned me up to confirm a few details. The B&B is a fantastic place with a lot of history, the room was very clean with a great view. I also liked the communal area on the top floor with board games, a TV and tea making facilities. I can definitely recommend...

Booked in advance from web search, and it exceeded all expectations. Beautifully clean, fabulous views, Claire is lovely, and made us very welcome. Her recommendations for walks each day were exactly what we needed. All the food was delicious, and home made, lots of it, and we enjoyed breakfast on the terrace looking at the mountains. In fact we enjoyed...

We have stopped here twice on our way to hikes on the GR5 track above Aussois. Clare's hospitality is outstanding. Her evening meals are probably a better choice than most of the cafés and restaurants in Aussois. The rooms are great, all with views of the mountains and some with balconies. It's right in the centre of the old part...

A perfect choice for a family. We had two adjoining spacious bedrooms with a living room area to relax in. This area included a kettle and tea and family games we could use. The view from the terrace is stunning. The breakfast was varied and included homemade jams. The location is excellent, right near the restaurants. The host was friendly...
