We slept 1 night in Couleurs Sud, while doing a bicycle trip. The hotel is in a good location, very close to the train station and at walking distance to all you have to visit in Charleville-Mézières. It is close to the bicycle Route Trans-Ardennes, La Meuse à Vélo, and you can park the bicycles in a safe place. Our room was very small, but quiet and clean. Basic breakfast. It has the feeling of a budget hotel. For a longer stay, I should take another place.
Do not stay here. Bed bugs & other bugs. Room 226 was crawling with it. We are extremely sorry we payed in advance. Reception was of course totally unaware of the problem, it has never ever happened before and blah blah blah. No compensation was offered.
The reception was good, spoke only a little English but between our limited french we got there. Room was very clean, shower room very small but again clean and useable. Only stayed here one night. Unlike other reviews didnt hear anything other than road noise and only one person drunk singing 'La Bamba' and that was on a Saturday night! All else perfectly fine for a stop off stay!
Location by the station is excellent, that is if you do not mind being near a busy railway station. Wonderful Place Ducale is only 10 minutes' walk away, restaurants etc are nearby. Our room was smallish, but OK for the price we paid. Very warm and opening window was not really an option during the day. Staff were very helpful showing us a spare area to lock our bicycles. The no frills buffet breakfast was 7 Euros and just OK for that money. Another stay in a Chambres d'hôte near Place Ducale was somehaw a better experience.
Close proximity to the train station with parking facilities. Clean rooms with free wifi connection. Friendly and helpful staff. Good value for money hotel and in Charleville area. I always prefer this hotel.
We have spent one night in this mediocre hotel, just a stop on the way to Champagne from Brussels. Pretty old stile in the hall, the room was too pink... Water in the bathroom was not warm enough to me. Price was very low, 58€ without breakfast. But still I wouldn't suggest it to others
We had a very pleasant stay in this hotel from July 24 until July 28 2014. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The hotel facilities are basic but recently renovated, very clean and well maintained. It was nice that we could put our bikes safely inside the hotel. The hotel is overlooking a park and conveniently located on walking distance from the center with all the shops and restaurants. The prices are absolutely “agreable”!
I stayed here for just one night to break up a very long drive. Our room was very comfortable and we had dinner in the restaurant which was very nice. My Dad's in a wheelchair and we didn't find this hotel very disabled friendly. There's steps up to the front door of the hotel, so they provide another entrance just next to it with a ramp, this door however is always locked so we had to go in to ask the receptionist to open it, she then had to remove about 5 luggage trolleys which were being stored in this doorway. This was a little embarrassing for my dad who just wanted to get in the building! Needless to say when we left in the morning we carried his chair down the steps instead of all the hassle! Also there is a lift to all floors but the lift is very very small, luckily my dads chair is not a particularly large one so we were able to squeeze him but with some difficulty. The staff were all really nice and helpful and we did enjoy our stay thank you!…
