For the amount of money you spend you would expect a bit more. The rooms do not look like what is advertised. Especially the creek deluxe room. Many of them do not have the balcony and terrace but only a shared balcony. Many of the rooms don't have any view at all, and tucked away at the back of the building. Furthermore, when i stayed they were busy doing construction work on new projects and it was like i was living in a construction site. Many construction workers walking past my room and always had to keep my curtains closed. Building noises were constantly going off and you couldn't even lie by the pool and have a relaxing day without the sound of tools going off. Then a project started right outside my room and it was the only view i had, I had to leave the resort everyday to get away from the construction. They were too worried about their new projects to worry about their paying guests. The turndown service lacked. We often did not get a turn down service so did not get fresh towels, or any towels for that matter, as well as tea/coffee/sugar top up so when you went to make the next morning you did not have. The staff are friendly but there are most certainly areas to work on to make it worth the money.

Absolutely loved our stay here. The resort is stunning, very clean, lots of room to wonder around without having to leave. Private beaches, yoga spots, great food and service, the staff are all amazing. Room's were lovely and large, with comfy beds. I really loved the feeling of feeling in nature there. They also have the coolest sunset bar to go and chill at. We used the dive school which was up to great standards, very well run. My sister used the gym / fitness classes which are on every day as an option. She did say the pilates class was very intense (not relaxing!) I loved how quiet it was here, no children, no parties, so a great place to read a book in silence and sleep well at night. Oh and the beauty parlour is FANTASTIC, we had massages and facials there and all said they were the best treatments we had ever had! If you are looking to completely relax in comfort, this is the place to stay!

Watamu is beautiful and this is a nice hotel, spacious with many options. The rooms are a bit dated and could require a refresh. The Internet is acceptable to speed and the food is good. The hotel has a small beach but unlike other hotels is less of a beach hotel and more looking onto the creek.

The staff was very nice and professional, the owner was also really nice and professional. By far one of the most naturally beautiful areas I've been to in a while with a stunning private beach! Unfortunately, dinners & sometimes lunches were quite forgetful. The food was bland and there wasn't a lot of variety, though breakfast was the only bright spot. Power was an issue with constant short outages plunging the whole resort into darkness, thankfully I was in the room most of the time during these events. Depending on your room you might want to load up on data since some of the rooms are out of Wi-Fi range. Overall a wonderful stay and would go again, there a many other restaurants nearby to satisfy just about anyone, making the stay quite enjoyable.

Having just spent a weekend at Temple Point, I want to say a big thank you to Max & Charlotte for making our stay a perfect break. It was my wifes birthday on the Saturday and Charlotte and her team sang happy birthday and presented her with a small bouquet of flowers, a birthday card and some chocolate cake. This was all unprompted by me, later we returned to our accomodation and discovered a tasteful happy birthday message on the bed made from flowers. We dined and drank at the resort (we were B&B) and I was surprised by the final bill being so reasonable. Food was very good Drinks maybe a bit more expensive than some places Accomodation clean with large areas to relax outside our unit Pools were clean definitely family friendly We hope to return in future with a few friends Thank you Temple Point

Our stay at the Temple Point Hotel in Watamu was extremely disappointing. Despite having been booked over four months ago, our experience at this establishment was a source of disappointment from the moment we entered the room. The welcome at the reception was very nice but the photos presented in no way correspond to the reality of this hotel. We were taken by surprise to discover that the Temple Point was in an advanced state of disrepair, cruelly lacking in maintenance. It's a SHAME to pay more than 150 USD for such a room in Kenya although Watamu is said to be an expensive city. The paint was peeling in both the pool and the rooms, the taps were rusty, and even the mosquito netting had holes in it. After expressing our dissatisfaction with the state of our first room, we were offered an upgrade to a larger room. Unfortunately, we found 2 cockroaches in the bathroom. In addition, the decoration of the rooms seemed old-fashioned, and the curtains were neither opaque nor effective at blocking sunlight, forcing us to wake up at the crack of dawn. The windows in both rooms didn't close properly. In short, this hotel's value for money was far from satisfactory. The Temple Point looked more like a three-star establishment than a four-star one. As far as the food was concerned, although breakfast was good with fresh pancakes and an egg station, dinner in no way justified its price (20 USD per person), and we'd advise you to eat in town, where you can get better quality for a similar or even lower price. The staff were generally friendly, especially Charlotte from Guest Experience, who was always ready to listen and help. However, it was often necessary to repeat our requests to obtain correct service. For example, despite our express request, the towels were not changed, which was a disappointing point. They woke us up at 7:30 am after we made the complaint in the evening... In conclusion, our stay at the Temple Point Hotel in Watamu was a huge DISSAPOINTMENT. If we return to the area, we'll go somewhere else and visit Litchaus, which is a gem, but we'll definitely avoid this hotel even though it's mentionned that they are rennovating the hotel.

Temple Point is geared towards digital nomads, and presents itself as a meditative, calm resort where everyone is welcome. Based on this, we decided to book the resort for our Kenyan/Romanian/British wedding, as we were looking for somewhere secluded and pleasant for us and our guests, many of whom will have visited Kenya for the first time in their life. Having booked some rooms in the resort from a continent's distance and blindly for our wedding, we were overall content and happy with our choice. The decor of the resort, quality of food, drinks and entertainment were on point. Guests truly felt like they had a once in a lifetime experience and enjoyed being there. We felt that resort staff always went above and beyond to ensure that our stay was pleasant and that everyone felt welcome. The booking and negotiating of rates felt professionally handled by Julian. However we felt misled by the fact that we were initially informed that wedding timings can continue until 1am in the morning, following which this timing was reduced to a mere 10pm, thus, frustratingly, taking a considerable chunk of our day taken away. This information was given to us at a point where it would have been difficult to back out of the deal. The reduction in time left us wondering as to why this occurred and the reasons around the lack of transparency to begin with. We were told that the timings were adjusted so as to reduce disruption to the other guests, however this is not something that was communicated from the offset. Friendliness of the staff could improve, particularly as we had to intervene to ensure that our Kenyan guests were treated equally and felt welcome into the resort for our big day e.g. they were held up at the main gate. Overall friendliness could have been a lot better and inclusive for our Kenyan guests It was disappointing and disheartening that we needed to do this in Kenya on behalf of Kenyan guests. Nevertheless, we thank staff at Temple Point Resort for helping us organise a lovely day for our wedding ceremony. We truly do feel that it was a memorable experience with its location, hospitality, beauty and nature's sheer heat. Likes: - Captain Nando's exceptional good spirits and expertise at navigating the boats, group of hens, groups of snorkelling people, bbq-ing seafood - Scuba instructor who was able to stabilise a couple of our guests as they were panicking, despite his colleague who was otherwise harsh with guests. - Good quality food, the range of food - Felt that Cici went above and beyond to ensure that the decorations for the wedding looked exceptional. - Staff offered reassurance throughout. - Spa and massage staff - excellent service! Dislikes: - Some of the rooms were priced differently (e.g. deluxe vs boutique) while they were similar in size and layout - A couple of our guests had issues with availability of water - Our room leaked water from the air conditioning. The shower kept clogging up. - A staff member felt it was appropriate to help himself to wedding food while guests were also eating, stating that he helped with setting up the food. We were charged per head for both food and drink, and were not advised that we were to cater for some of the staff as well. - Unequal treatment was glaring i.e. westerners vs locals.

The views and settings are out of the world and dreamy. I was able to experience many firsts all in one place: Special thanks to Peter- the mixologist, he prepared a special drink that instantly cured my sore throat. Lilian - the security guard who was kind to take some pics and organised the repair of my sandals. Laeti- Captain Sammy - for the most intimate and unique sun Downers one can enjoy on a boat. Sharon - for making me enjoy - breaking more sweat than I anticipated yet feeling rejuvenated in my first ever yoga class. Dalmus - ever kind and concerned. I also enjoyed my first ever kizomba and salsa dance lessons. The hotel offers many other interesting activities - missed out on à la carte and open night cinema...guess there's always a next time at Temple point.

Booked a 2 week stay at Temple Point with hotels.com. After comparing prices, other sites were much the same. Had confirmation email, no need to reconfirm etc. A few weeks later my wife contacted Temple Point with a question about the room. We received a message back saying they had cancelled our room due to adminstrative error ( they wanted more for the Room) But if we were prepared to pay the increase we could rebook for the same dates. I phoned hotels.com after hours going backwards and forwards they offered us some really poor accommodation compared to our original booking. After this we had little interaction so I booked elsewhere. Very very poor customer skills

The place is Arts inspired and has a Rustic theme. It is also an Eco friendly space. I stayed for one night and relocated since my visit conicided with the annual Kaleidoscope festival and I fugured out the place will be packed. If you are looking for serenity then this is the place to be on a normal day outside of the festival. The service and food is okay, though most staff I interacted with seemed nonchalant. There is a newly equiped gym which is charged separately at Ksh. 800 for guests staying at the hotel, the management should look at including this in the accomodation package. You could also work on replacing worn out uniforms for some grounds men. The old faded uniforms make them look like Prisoners "Pun intended".
