Hyatt Place Princeton is a hotel with a mixed bag of reviews. While the lobby bar and celebratory atmosphere are highlights for some guests, others have expressed disappointment with the outdated and worn furnishings. The staff is often commended for being friendly and attentive, but not without occasional service hiccups, particularly in housekeeping and check-in efficiency. Room cleanliness has been a point of contention, ranging from spotless to neglected.
Although the rooms are praised for their size, the decor's datedness, maintenance, and cleanliness are drawbacks. The hotel's location is a major plus, providing easy access to local attractions and amenities. However, issues with noise and inconsistent service have led to varying opinions on the overall value offered by the hotel.

Detailed Reviews
I booked this hotel for its close proximity to Princeton University and also because it is a genuinely nice hotel. The rooms are clean and spacious, and the beds and pillows were very comfortable. Our room also had a sitting area with a couch and desk, plus a kitchenette type area with a sink, counter, mini fridge and coffee maker. This room also had separate sink and counter area and large mirror for brushing teeth or getting oneself ready, that was outside of the bathroom and shower. This was very convenient if traveling with several people. There was also a yummy free hot breakfast buffet included in the room price, which was very much appreciated, and a big step above what many other locations nearby offer, especially since Covid. The staff were exceptionally friendly and accommodating, eager to be helpful and always said hello when you walk by. Easy express check-out on your phone, if you choose. Also appreciated that check-out time was noon instead of earlier. The prices go up and down. I tend to grab a reservation early when there is a discount, if I know I’m planning to be in the area. I also liked that the location is set back a little from the busy highway. Convenient but quiet. Also walking distance to a shopping area with a few nice restaurants, stores and a movie theater.

This was the most welcoming staff of any hotel I’ve been to. After i told them it was my son’s 15th birthday they set up the room with a sign, balloon and treats. Walked to the movies and dinner, great location! Would return again in a heartbeat

Please do not book with a third party, because if something comes up the hotel will not accommodate your needs. Also, if you check-in at 4:00AM, please make sure to ask when check-out is. I booked an additional room early morning arrival around 5:00AM and check-out was the same day at 11:00, the rate was over $200.00 for a few hours. The staff member at the front desk did not make me aware of this.

I was here on business and it was awful. I was switched to 3 different rooms and all of the rooms had issues. Dirty linens on the bed, dirty bathroom, bugs in walls. Looked as if no one had been in to clean the rooms forever. Do not stay here if visiting. I ended up not staying here and booking a hotel somewhere else due to the uncleanliness. No housekeeping on staff and front desk told me to call and complain the next day due to them not having anyone to clean the room. Makes no sense that all rooms were dirty! BEWARE!

I have stayed at this Hyatt on and off for this past year. I have recommended to others to stay here. But my last visit, I will not return. On my last day before 12 noon checkout, housekeeping was knocking at my door (10am) I had a Do Not Disturb Sign on the door plus was in the middle of a meeting on the computer. I then called downstairs to verify checkout and was told it was 12 noon. Then same person I spoke to called up to my room and said I have checkout till 2 pm as a member and she would notify housekeeping. She failed to mention I would be charged an extra $25 for this (I found out the next day on my card transaction). Also I needed to go downstairs (before 2pm) and as I was leaving my room, housekeeping took it upon herself to try to enter the room. I told her I was told by downstairs I can stay till 2pm. She proceeded to get in the elevator with me. When we get downstairs, she goes to the front desk to verbally complain about me staying. I have never had such rude interaction with housekeeping at any hotel especially Hyatt. They are usually more accommodating even if there is confusion over extended checkout. Sorry after this I will not stay here at this location again.

Nothing one would expect from the Hyatt brand. The room was filthy, sink was clogged, tv did not work. The AC unit positioned next to the bed was loud, preventing us from getting a restful night. Although we purchased the room at a fee in which breakfast was included, we were told in the morning that there will be no breakfast and the price will NOT be adjusted. There were two towels in the bathroom, which we used upon arrival and had to reuse in the morning. When we asked for new towels, we were advised that this was a one time courtesy and that our room will not be cleaned due to the one every five days hotel policy. We decided to check out and transfer to the Hyatt Regency shortly after lunch time. The hotel manager advised us that because it was after 12 pm we will be charged for a second night, although we did not stay. She refused to refund the points we used and proceeded to charge my credit card for a second night, stating that she cannot sell the room we just left. The hotel was a ghost town, not like a high demand place we inconvenienced by checking out 45 minutes late. I would be remiss if I failed to mention that the 45 minute delay was caused by our attempt to reason with the shift manager who was rude and plain disrespectful. I advised her that we will file a formal complaint with the NJ Board of Health to report the unsanitary condition of the hotel. This place should be shut down.

I really liked this Hyatt. The rooms were well laid out with separate areas for sitting, making g coffee and sleeping. The front desk was very accommodating and best of all you could get to Princeton without going on Route 1 by following the back entrance to the Market Place Shopping Center. The buffet breakfast was even good! It is the best place I have found for Princeton Reunions.

I had an extremely disappointing stay at the Hyatt Place Princeton. The mattress in our queen bed was old and uncomfortable, causing my husband and me to sink into the middle, which resulted in back pain the next morning. When I approached the front desk to ask for a mattress replacement, I was told it wasn't possible. I then requested they flip the mattress, which slightly improved the situation, but it was still far from acceptable.
Additionally, I had specifically requested that our room be cleaned daily during our stay. Unfortunately, the cleaning service was subpar. While the bed was made, the sink was left untouched, with visible toothpaste stains on the counter. I reported this to the front desk and asked for the housekeeper to clean our room properly, but nothing was done until I complained again and asked to speak with Jason, the manager. The room was finally cleaned on the third night, but by the fourth night, it was neglected again.
This experience was incredibly frustrating and disappointing. I expected much better from a hotel of this caliber, and I hope management takes steps to address these issues so future guests do not have to go through the same ordeal.

We usually stay at Hyatt Regency or Marriott properties when we come to visit Great Adventure. The hotel is dated. There’s no connection to Netflix. The front desk is very friendly and told us benefits of being an Explorer member. We didn’t sleep well as they have the old heater/air conditioner next to our bed making lots of noise. The bed is not that comfy. On top of that the maid came at 9am knocking on our door and asking if we have a late checkout. The checkout time is at noon. I don’t know why the front desk won’t inform her. The perk is there’s free breakfast but I would rather have a good night sleep. We will not come back again.

I confirmed with the chatbot on the hotel website that it would provide toothbrushes and toothpaste before I checked in to the hotel. Therefore, I didn't bring any. However, after I checked in to the hotel, the staff told me they don't have any toothbrushes and toothpaste and implied that it was my mistake to trust the chatbot on the hotel website. The staff blamed me because of the outdated information provided by the chatbot of this hotel. Terrible customer service! I will never recommend this hotel to anyone I know. Please put a statement on your website to inform people your chatbot is unreliable!

Good Evening,
The Hyatt Place and the Hyatt Regency are actually two separate hotels located five minutes apart from each other, but the Regency does offer shuttle services just like the Hyatt Place. Unfortunately I do not know how far they are aloud to travel from their hotel, but I do know that they would be able to take you to 301 C. Center.
I hope this can assist you during your stay at the Regency.
Sorry, I do not know the answer.
Good Evening,
Our Hotel has an indoor/ heated pool. The hours of operation are 6am- 10pm.
If I can be of anymore assistance please reach out.
Thank you!

Hi 87Dixie315,
That is a great question. Our shuttle service is offered weekdays between 7:00AM until 8:00PM, running every half hour by reservation within a 5-mile radius. To that end, we do not have shuttle service on the weekends, so we would recommend either a rental car or car services such as Uber or taxis as the most feasible options.
Please feel free to reach out to our Gallery Host team at the Front Desk for any arrangements they can do to accomodate you. We look forward to seeing you for Families Weekend!
