We have visited this pub a few times, the first time we had burgers, they was great. The second time we had food, honestly the sausage and champ was disgusting and overpriced for what it was, I was too polite to say anything at the time. The fish and chips take away was okay the first time. My partner went... More

My sister and I really enjoyed our one nights stay here! The landlord and landlady were smiley and welcoming and our room was spacious, warm and spotless. We enjoyed a home-cooked supper (fabulous crispy batter on delicious haddock), slept really well after sampling the local cider and Otter Ale .. and the following morning managed a large cooked-to-order breakfast! A... More

During our three night stay we found the people friendly, the landlord friendly and the accommodation homely . The breakfasts and dinners were great as was the service. Enough variety on the evening menu and all served with a smile. The hotel is dog friendly with plenty of walks and open areas close to the pub to exercise our retriever.... More

This was the second visit to the Thorverton Arms although seven years apart it was as good as the first. The welcome was very friendly and the check in process was smooth and quick. The room was good, clean and adequate for our needs. The pub does a nice range of beers and wine. The breakfast was cooked to order... More

I and my family, together with our dog, stayed here overnight and found the beds very comfortable, giving us all a good night's sleep. This was followed by an enjoyable breakfast, with excellent service. There is a separate entrance to the upstairs bedrooms from the car park, so we did not have to pass through the bar to access them.... More

Just spent a great five nights here for a local wedding. Had a double and twin rooms which were well furnished and clean, one looking out over the lovely garden, the other over the quiet road towards the beautiful church. The breakfast was really good and you can basically customise what you need and then it's freshly cooked within minutes.... More

We stayed here on our way back from a holiday in Salcombe. We booked a family room for two adults and two children. The room was very comfortable with plenty of room for us all and we received a very warm welcome. The breakfast was very tasty. We found out about the accommodation being dog friendly after we booked and... More

This was supposed to be a romantic night away in a country b&b for our anniversary. We didn't even bother to stay, the hallway and stairs stank of dog pee and our room was right above the kitchen. Everything looked tired and dated. We had stopped of on our way and my husband had told them where we were staying,... More

Good food and cozy rooms. The bar scene is nice too. We stay here when we are in town to visit with family that happens to live in town. The building is historical so you can imagine staying here on a trip to the south. It was once called the Dolphin Inn and was built originally in the 16th century.... More
