Detailed Reviews
Super restrictive in terms of getting through the gate, which is great if you want to impress Uber drivers but lame if you want to actually have an Uber meet you inside. Very sterile and boring. Which must be great if you live in Egypt and feel the need to isolate yourself from the rest of the country. We managed to get into the beach(costs money) and all of the restaurants….lame and unexceptional.
About the most we could say from this trip is at least our family and Uber drivers think we are wealthy/important(lol), otherwise very boring and fake. Also, the security/lifeguards are all very very polite as is the staff you meet.
I recommend you try it to see for yourself, just be prepared to be disappointed/broke afterwards.

The views of Mediterranean captivate and the sandy beaches are beautiful. The rooms are perfectly appointed and designed to give max experience of the seas. The restaurant is basic but the menu hearty and wholesome. The staff are helpful and put in efforts to make your stay pleasant. Highly recommended

It was an awful experience! I don't think Emaar gets the culture of Egyptian beaches and summer fun times with friends and family. They make you feel that they own your place, and you are just a guest. They make it so hard to have a good time with the amount of Un logical restrictions that you only find in Marassi. Despite the place looking good from the outside, it's with no life or spirit. Add to this is that it's a pet unfriendly place so your furry friends are not allowed anywhere. If you are into showing off your fancy care and riding over loud bikes, then this is the place for you. But if you a person who loves the beach and want to have fun with your friends avoid Marassi at any cost, it's overpriced as well as overrated and you are surrounded with a very strange crowd to our beach scene. I hate the experience at Marassi and it's getting worse every year.

Emaar has done a HUGE damage to the bay of Sidi Abdel Rahman, Egypt, by building a marina at Marassi which has been a disaster to the Marine environment & ecology. All the beaches & shorelines to the East side have been eroded with the drenching. For thousands of years, rocks were covered with sand, Now they have been uncovered! SAVE the sea!

If you lost anything At Marassi Alalamein, don't be afraid and trust that you will find it.
Thank you very much to the beautiful lady whom I don't know who found my bracelet yesterday and handed it over to security.
Thank you to the creative security team and all the youth working in it for their morals, tolerance, honesty and sweet spirit.
Thank you for equipping the entire place with CCTV
Egypt 🇪🇬 has lot of good things

The beach and weather was really nice. Service on the beach was okay. Security is really really good. However, there were a lot of issues with having dogs on the beach. Next time they should have them separated to avoid future conflicts.

Marassi is a well developed resort type gated community with world class amenities and infrastructure. However, administrative regulations change on a whim, which in turn means vacationers suffer unexpected restrictions. Owners are allowed to rent out their units but then short term summer tenants (who pay an arm and a leg), are forbidden access to beaches with the exception of one and are required to enter to community from a secondary gate and are basically treated like second class citizens. And in order to even access the one of the multiple beaches, tenants are required to pay hefty fees for guest passes during their stay. Even access to many restaurants is restricted and it’s nearly impossible to host guests. Additionally, traffic and reckless driving are rampant. As a family, we ended spending most of our time at beaches outside marassi after having paid ridiculous amounts of money per night and for guest passes. I would not recommend it as a destination when so many other more enjoyable options available.

We are currently staying (family of 5 with 3 kids ages: 11, 9, 5) in Marassi in a Verdi townhouse that sleeps 11. We’ve been hearing about the exceptionalness of Marassi for the past 3 years, so once we planned our vacation in Egypt, we made it a point to stay 5 days at the resort. In all honesty, I don’t know what the hype is about. Yes, the security is high and the entrance is regulated and expensive which keeps all the undesirables away, but this place is boring as hell. There’s a central marketplace that has a nice grocery store and pharmacy, but the eating places there are a bunch of fast food (KFC, Hardee’s, Pizza Hut, etc.) joints that are disgusting. There are 2 other restaurants we passed by: The Smokery and a Lebanese place, but that pretty much sums up the places you can eat at other than the beach clubhouse which has some food shops. So the clubhouse has a great beach which is calm and clean. The issues we had is that people are allowed to blast their music, so God forbid if you are seated near this noise pollution. Second, the bathrooms and changing areas are too far from the beach, which makes it an issue for families with small kids especially. You’ll spend all your time walking too and from. Third, our AirBnB hostess was complaining (and we were caught up in these issues!) about all the restrictions being placed year to year on guests. Namely, some pools/areas/clubhouse you and guests are allowed entry and others not or with a fee, etc. This haggling and planning for entry requires too much planning and mental energy for people that just want to go on holiday and be allowed to go anywhere on the resort. Often these “new” rules are announced and enforced overnight, so new arrivals are surprised to find out things are not as they seemed when the trip to Marassi was planned months ago. Nothing about this place entices us enough to return back again. Nothing to see or do and it’s quite boring - thank goodness for the Internet and my stack of books!

Careless corporation that destroyed the beaches of sidi abdelrahman with their Marina. Irresponsible and destructive to the natural environment and ecology, irreparable damage and suffering for all beach goers in the area.
