Very convenient, where you need it. Has snack bar/cafe downstairs and pizzeria/ristorante upstairs. Cafe service is efficient and relatively cheap - met the need! You can park on the road nearby for free and it is where the cable car runs from. Lots of souvenir places in the vicinity as well.

We ate in the restaurant here mainly because we wanted to get inside during a heavy rain on a visit to Mount Etna. Much to our surprise, the meal was fantastic. My husband's pasta carbonara was one of the best we have had in Italy (and we've tasted quite a few!) Good service and an attractive dining room. Overall a...

We didn't stay here, but ate at the restaurant. Located at about the 6,300 ft. level on Mt. Etna, it is an extraordinary location, and a good choice for lunch. The atmosphere is Italian, yet fells Alpine. We chose to have pizza - MONTE PIZZILLO: Mozzarella, cream of asparagus, porcini mushrooms, bacon, grated Parmesan cheese, olive oil, oregano. This is...

In the refugo you feel the admosphere of the mountains. It is big but in a way cosy. Good to stop here for a cappuchino or a little bite before you go up to the Silvestri craters (when the weather is bad) or to the top of Monte Edna!

We had 2 hours to visit this area when on a tour to Mount Etna. There are plenty of shops most of them selling the same thing as the other. We had a nice walk to the Crater Silvestri. Also had a nice pasta lunch in one of the restaurant's.

It is more a hotel than a mountain rifugio, so it has all comfort you need at a fair rate. In addition, it has a good restaurant and friendly service. Breakfast is great, way beyond your typical Italian breakfast! Ad of course, you cannot find a better location to visit the Etna

A GREAT location - staying high on the slopes of Etna surrounded by lava flows at 1910 meters above sea level was certainly unique. The views day and night were fantastic and after the tourists all leave around 5PM its incredibly peaceful. We had a nicely renovated comfortable ensuite room which was of a decent 3* hotel standard with good...

From the beginning on we were served very unfriendly. Main course was served 7 minutes after antipasto. We were still chewing. Food was cold and not tasty at all. Prices are far too steep considering food's quality. All in all, we felt like hosts wanted to get rid of us as fast as possible.

If you are going up to the crater on Etna, after a hard walk, in the relative chill of the volcano summit it is nice to get back down to civilisation and have a warm and good quality meal. Set among the tourist focussed outlets at the base of the summit where you get the cable car the Rifugio Sapienza...

I spent one night to rest in the hotel and I found the location amazing. even though the guys who work there didn's really speak English I was happy with service. The breakfast was great and staying there gave me a chance to walk in the morning to some of the craters without the crowd and tourists.
