I loved this hostel. With a good price, the room was spacious even for 6 beds and there was even enough room for a sink and a small seating area too. I loved each bunk. They had their own power sockets, a small lamp and a shelf for your belongings. All very handy!! The other facilities were great too and... More

It has been many years since we have stayed in a hostel, but this was a very good experience. We actually stayed in Te Hui House, which is part of the hostel, but located about 200m from the main hostel. As expected, the room was quite spartan – no furniture save the beds and one bed side table – and... More

This is the place that you want to stay in- cosy and relax, clean and extremely comfortable. The location is worthy of a 5 star hotel status, with it being right on the beach. You can sleep with sounds of waves crashing. Rooms are spacious with ample charging points. Wifi is free, fast and unlimited. One of the best places... More

Great little find this one... We slept in a converted truck with double bed literally 20 metres from the ocean where waves were crashing into the ripraps. Hostel was clean friendly and well equipped. Lovely little beach front garden, a great base for exploring the very charming Punakaiki

Very nice little bungalows, very comfortable, private bathroom, front of the sea. You can access the shared kitchen, very cleaned. We really enjoyed to stay there, the hosts are very amazing persons. Strongly recommended. Private TV with Netflix.

This was an awesome spot right on the beach. The building and rooms were well looked after and very clean. The only thing that could have been better was more work surfaces in the kitchen as it got very crowded and there was just not enough room to prepare meals easily. The owners were lovely and helpful. Would recommend

We stayed only 2 nights but really enjoyed it. Nice stuff, comfortable beds with own shelves and plug sockets. Everything clean, nice common area and kitchen. Directly at the beach, so you can enjoy your meal with ocean view or during sunset. Only thing: close to beach -> lots of sandflies if you're outside on the veranda etc.

This was the single most beautiful place/are I have ever stayed. The room was immaculate and looked directly on to the beach. The woman who owned the place had Ana amazing aura about her...so friendly and approachable. We just felt a home. Plus home baking that really was second to none. I will be back

Definitely one of the best hostels I've stayed in in New Zealand. The owners are friendly and extremely helpful (e.g offering to drive us up the road when our unhelpful bus company wouldn't pick us up from the hostel). The rooms are clean and bright with sea views in some upstairs. The location is great right next to the beach... More

What a nice little stay! We got in mid-afternoon and checked into the only place you will want to stay at in Punakaiki! Met the owners, Lutz & Christina, who are just beaming with smiles from ear to ear. The passion for the place definitely shows! We took a double room, which had beach views, and the sunset was amazing.... More
