The setting is right in the nature (if you like that). I was very disappointed that there were no room keys, which made me feel unsafe. Our room was in the main building with an ensuite bathroom, but although this building was the main hub for all guests, including the communal kitchen, shared bathroom facilities and a family room area,...

This is one of the most magnificent place I have visited. It was hard to believe I was in NZ and not Costa Rica. The rain forest is just awesome and so quite. We stayed in the Te Ruru Lodge for our first night which was comfortable and quite and quite lovely. The smell of fresh baked muffins in the...

We stayed at Te Nikau for 1 night and really wish we could have stayed longer. Beautiful location, right in the midst of rainforest, lovely community of people, everything was very clean even with shared bathrooms and the beach is just a short walk from here. Highly recommend it and if we return to NZ we plan to stay here...

Wonderful place - my 3rd stay now. Staff very friendly, setting is superb - all in rainforest, just 5 mins walk from Truman Beach. You absolutely feel as though you're in a different world. All well thought out and very clean. I would wholeheartedly recommend it, especially the individual lodges if your budget stretches that far. However, no rooms in...

Knowing that we'd arrive late due to our excllent* time management, the receptionist kindly stayed up until 11pm for us and reserved a car parking space. We stayed in a large mixed dorm which was characterful, warm and spacious, although open so I don't think I'd have liked to leave my stuff here for a day. The facilities are very...

We stayed here just one night and really liked it. Just 5 min walk down to the beautiful beach and $2 homebaked muffins! Bravo! Only bad thing was that you cant lock your room and the wifi works only in the big house.

We stayed in The Hideaway cottage for two nights and loved it. Surrounded by rainforest and not far to walk to a great beach where the ocean is wild. The shared kitchen was big and always clean, there were not many people around so we cooked a few meals there and had the place pretty much to ourselves! Delicious fresh...

We were using this accommodation as a 1 night stop over from Franz Joseph to Nelson. We chose this place as the reviews were above average & I liked that it was different than your standard motel. Things I loved about our accommodation Our hideaway cottage was elevated & surrounded by rainforest with a wonderful balcony The cottage was made...
