Earl court is a heritage property with one grand villa which was used by Britishers before freedom , although we opted to stay in newly constructed Superior Rooms due to Internet connectivity which was fairly large with ample space for an extra bed and enough room to roam around even after that.
Food is delicious and they cooked as per our instructions which was a welcome surprise but very much required when you are planning a long stay.
They provide free shuttle service to Mall road which was a big plus because other wise it would have been tough due scarcity of parking space in Nainital and narrow roads
Cons :
Half of the property is under construction and Garden area was little aloof due to construction of Several villas which might take another 1.5 years to finish. In house wifi was good when you are in Room or near lobby but beyond that there were issues which needs to be sorted specially now during current work from home regime.
Property is surrounded by trees and other constructions hence view from room / property is very limited and you get mountain view from either Garden or Parking but nothing from your rooms Window. Hence only 4 stars to this property.
I went to Nainital and chose Earls court by leisure hotels for my stay. Trust me, it's one of the bestest decisions of my life. I am so happy to choose them and was so amazed with mesmerising view and the ambience of the property. The whole vibe is just fabulous and safe because they're taking all precautionary measures.
The staff treated me really well and I enjoyed various other activities like bon fire, live singing etc. Talking about the food, damn! It was delicious. I still have the taste and I am still craving for more.
The staf was wearing gloves, headgear and did proper Sanitization in the hotel premises at regular intervals.
I also visited Naini Retreat, which is another property by leisure hotels only and the scenario is exactly the same as Earls Court. I recommend it to everybody. Do visit guys. These people are amazing.
The Earl is an impressive hotel: reception people specially Vivek very humble , cleaning,... A hotel that takes great care of the details and a wonderful treatment with the client. They have a very complete covid protocol that makes guests feel very safe within their facilities. Fully recommended for family and couple trips.
They were asking us to sleep on mattress on the floor in temperature of - 2 and later got us a wooden cot.
They added fruits and cookies only on the first day.
They did not clean the room next day until we requested nor sent water bottles until we asked for.
We also had breakfast and dinner included in the deal for extra payment however they only had five tables indoor for the entire hotel which was packed at this time. And hence we waited for one and a haf hrs to get a table.
Food was just OK and desserts were worse.
The hotel was booked as they offered free shuttle to the main mall Road however that was another pain. Waiting period of 30/40mins and forced to fit people even more that the capacity of the shuttle.
The only pros about this hotel was heating in the room and room size.
Stay : Rooms are nice and properly heated, you can feel the cold while walking in open ( that's what you wanted :) ) but inside it is perfect temprature
Food : Food is light ( for body and pocket) and not heavy on the stomach. Tastes really nice and easy to digest
Staff : There is something about hills and leisure hotels that they never disappoint. This was my 2nd property and i would love to go again. Special thanks to Mr Rajiv, in the covid time we called him multiple times but he always responded with positivity.
Pros and cons of the property.
Pros-
*Property is easy to locate with ample parking space (however at owners risk).
*Staff is very courteous.
*Good and ample options for buffet breakfast.
Cons-
*It's a low rise property hence the view from the rooms is not so great, alongside the surrounding of the property is under construction hence all the more a not so good view.
*Do not stay in Heritage rooms if you are planning a visit during extreme winters as these rooms aren't centrally heated and you will only be provided with one room heater, though the heritage room is pretty spacious however not meant for chilly winters, the superior and deluxe rooms are a better option for winters.
*There is no play area for badminton, indoor sports etc, and hence there is nothing to do in the property if you have to stay back because of rain except watching TV which again offers limited channels.
*The service is extremely slow and you have to call for reminders 2-3 times even for something as small as water or towels.
Rooms with attention to minutest details like even light snacks in the room for the tired arrival and for munching at leisure.
Personal attention and guest care by wach member if the staff - front desk, food&beverages, housekeeping, etc.
We visited at the time when snow was falling and temperature was sub zero, however the heating in the rooms was exceptional and bonfires in common areas kept us cosy.
The food was deletcable with tastefully crafted menu in each meal .
The parking space is ample.
The General Manager -Mr. Mehta and his entire team displayed great warmth and personal attention.
In a nutshell , 5- star experience in Nainital! Highly recommended for a memorable family trip!
