Would recommend Naini Reteat to anyone who is looking for a time away from their busy lives specially for the food as Chef Parihar prepared lavish spreads for every meal and even catered to dietary restrictions for gluten intolerence. Overall a very good experience.
Excellent customer service, courteous staff lovely property. Want to mention especially about Nitin Bhatt really customer friendly helped us from day one from checkin till last day of checkout took great care of our room type needs other needs like assistance for my mother. Great family activities like games, high tea and buffet breakfast is awesome, free shuttle service to mall road is extremely helpful. One point worth mentioning is the hotel has lot of stairs to climb up and down till reception and second floor rooms, can be an issue for specially abled like senior citizens, I was told this will be taken care in future with some upcoming renovations. Highly recommend if you are looking for great family comfortable experience keep up the good work Naini retreat will love to visit again in future.…
Was sheer bliss staying in this heritage property which took us back to the British era. One of the most artistic hotel we"ve ever encountered. Hats off to the landscape designer & the diligent gardeners who created the flora of the victorian times. Ravi at the front office was impeccable at his job while Mr.Parihar the chef ensured that we ate the best.
Beautiful resort with very polite and helpful, beautiful garden rooms, delicious food, very nice group activities in evening, only issue faced was lack of elevator or ramp facilities for senior citizens
Nice heritage type hotel - built in 1931; Some great views of Nainital and the lake from the deck. The deck is a Great place to just sit and enjoy the cool breeze and soak in the beautiful atmosphere. They serve morning tea here and also evening high tea. We were in room 403 - nice large room with modern bathroom. Overall good friendly staff; a day after checkout I realized that I had forgotten to empty one drawer with my clothes there. Called them and Ravi at the front desk was very helpful and located the clothes and is couriering them. Much appreciated! All meals were at the Gurney house restaurant- the buffet breakfast was decent - the South Indian dishes were very average - avoidable; we had one a la carte meal and that was really delicious - a pink pasta with veggies, margarita pizza, a veg ratatouille!…
The hotel is overpriced. I guess they are taking the advantage of being the only so called 4 star property. It has a beautiful deck overlooking lake. One can enjoy a nice evening here. Though they do not serve dinner here. there are mosquitoes in the evening. And the hotel staff refused to provide a mosquito repellent coil. Hence we had to shift indoors. The rooms are ok. They look a little outdated. There is no AC but they do provide a fan. The tap mixer in the bathroom doesn’t work. The water is either very hot or very cold or you can mix it in the bucket provided. The biggest let down is the food. The buffet (whether breakfast or dinner) is below average. The food ordered a la carte is still good. But they don’t seem to be keen to serve a la carte. They try to sell the buffet. The chef himself seemed to be less keen that guests should order a la carte .…
Excellent hospitality and fun acitivities. Prefer this resort to everyone. Food quality was excellent. Morning tea was serverd at apt time with excellent quality. Even buffet in morning had many varierieties to give you taste of mountains.
NaniRetreat is an awesome place to stay at. Very comfortable rooms, comfort food with a large variety of vegetables. The staff was very warm and made our stay very comforting. Especially Ms. Tara who was a great organizer for indoor games. Very pleasing personality with great helping nature. Kids use to wait for the evening games and because of her, the guests could interact and chit chat. Thanks to her made some new friends and came to know about different cultures, especially Kumaon culture. Would also like to thank Varsha, Kanchan Singh Bisht, and others who were very hospitable. The wait now is for the lift in the hotel.
Great property, excellent service, courteous staff.A place worth staying again and again.Tara the creativity coordinator is very active lively and engaging. We would like to come back again really enjoyed stay
Had an absolutely wonderful stay and birthday celebration at the beautiful resort in the hills away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The stay was made even more special by the spectacular views of the city below and the great hospitality by the dining and host staff! Chef CS Parihar personally attended to our needs and made the experience even more homey by the exquisite food and the live stations serving a variety of food. The rotis and vegetables came hot from the kitchen every time and the dosa was particularly commendable during breakfast. Our every need including a special cake for the birthday celebration was made possible by the efforts of Mr. Vivek Dhoolia who’s mannerisms and personality made us feel very welcomed. Ramesh Jalal and the bar staff went out of their way to make special cocktails and drinks for us and the live music made every night memorable. The experience in its entirety was one for the books!…
