I booked 2rooms through phone and confirmed booking for room numbers 24&25 of my choice also paid advance but after our arrival, refused to provide the booked rooms and asked that after one hour one room i.e. room no 25 will be provided and rest rooms on the next day. But they provided another rooms in a very pathetic condition . Despite repeated and continuous requests, they didn't bother to listen and asked in a blunt way that if not satisfied, rooms may be left. We were stunned to here the words. Electricity , hot water nothing is available. It seems that they r here only to cheat the pessengers...
Wide angle lake view from the balcony, situated on the middle mall road, reasonable rates. Supporting and well mannered staff. It is pleasure to be there and one should must visit the hotel. Really like it.
The hotel enjoys centricity of the city without giving bare minimum services nor any training to the staff to speak decent (surely is a very mild word), as tourist has to stay at some place they can speak & do anything with them
Fantastic view of Naini Lake, staffs are well behaved, particularly the owner of the hotel was very cooperative and helpful. Some staircases we had to cover to enter into the hotel but this is common to all hotels at hilly area. Overall nice staying experience and value for money.
Started off with nainital from kathgodam having chosen this hotel. ambience good, staff friendly, lake view available in 2nd floor rooms, lift present.very near to MALL and tibetan market. only disadvantage is u hav to climb around 50 stairs to reach the hotel
Right off the mall road with an excellent view of the lake from the terrace. Tons of lovely potted plants and Angela, an adorable senior dog (14+ years old) by the door. The food was yum too. Our only gripe is that at the time of checkout, two different men kept badgering us for tips. Left a bad taste in the mouth.
I visited Nainital on 16.september 2016 which was an off season so this hotel offered a good service to us and we stayed up to four nights in this hotel.I don't have any idea regarding the service facilities provided by this hotel during the peak season. So if someone wants to enjoy their winter vacation at Nainital this is the ideal...
me and my wife went there hotel was very clean and staff was very understanding and nice food was very tasty my was very happy she said she will come again special service was very good I hope service will be more better
The location of hotel is really very good, safe and secure, but entrance is not so good, rooms are ok.The negativity is its bathroom.staff is also good.Tariff is higher according to facility (Rs.2200+Tax=2510).
Trip to Nainital was a sudden plan on a Friday morning and we headed to the city of lakes on the same night with no itinerary planned at all. It was a random road trip and we were not really sure of where to stay, the only thing we were excited about was a weekend getaway from scorching heat of Delhi. As we reached Nainital, the question of staying striked us and we were at Mall Road looking for a perfect stay as I was accompanied by our parents so couldn't really manage in any random hotel. After checking out a couple of options, we finally headed to The Shalimar Hotel. Rooms were clearly maintained and the most important parameter for me to measure a hotel room quality is its "washroom" which was pretty clean and hygienic. Our room was a kind of 1+1 arrangement with 2 double bed and one attached washroom. Clean bedsheets, quilts and towel (obviously on demand), what else would one expect in ₹2800/- per night stay (tax inclusive) and that too on a very short notice Hotel is located at Mall Road with a clear view and accessibility to Naini lake. Surrounded by so many restaurants, it offers varied options to satiate your hunger at any point of time. Drawbacks- 1. Food quality- Pathetic. Rather than opting for room service or hotel food, please step out to check out food stalls at Mall Road. Paneer and Aloo Cheela, Bread Toast and Pav Bhaji are must try at any local food joint. 2. Staff- Not really at par. But I kept my calm because I did not really expect much of a good service and hospitality in a budget hotel. 3. Accessibility to the hotel- You have to follow almost 30 steps to reach hotel reception. However from reception area, one can easily have an access to room via lifts. Overall, it was an okay sort of stay and obviously we were in Nainital for a night only and had to check out other places too, so stayed in hotel for a good sleep only.…
