Hotel Evelyn is among one of the oldest hotels in Nainital and has a rich history of hospitality. It has been serving guests even before the town became a retreat for city-weary souls and saw a burgeoning hotel industry. Before 1947, Mrs Page, a British lady ran a guesthouse of the same name, where the hotel stands today. Since Indian Independence, it has been owned and run by Mr S.L Sah's family. It was his will power and dynamism that metamorphosed a small guesthouse into a 60-room hotel.Today Hotel Evelyn offers the height of convenience and comfort to guests. From the Mall Road you can get a glimpse of the impressive facade of the hotel and as you explore further a visual treat awaits you. It has a magnificent view of the Naini lake, the weeping willows arched delicately over the resplendent waters and the Holy 'Pashan Devi' temple right across. The flower be-decked terrace will simply take your breath away. Great location, on the mall road, nearer to Tallital side. View from the hotel is amazing. Rooms are spacious. Everything is amazing except two areas as below. 1. If you are planning to stay there in winter, then it's a bad option for you. I wouldn't recommend this property at all. They provide room heaters on request with additional money but it's not sufficient enough to warm you. Again, they don't have any private geysers in each room. So, you can't have hot water when you want. The hot water comes from 06:00am to 11:00am. But in the night when you need the hot water the most, it's not available. 2. If you want food, then order them at least 1 hour earlier & before 8pm. They go to market, bring stuffs & cook according to your order but the food is quite expensive than other restaurants nearby. So, it's upto you how you choose your option to eat.…

Accommodation is Good food is like home food and service is good. Because of the location I like to stay here. The view of the lake which is very near is great.For those who like boating the boat Stand is close by.The local market is just next door.

room, bath room is old fashioned . bed was dirt. even jug and glass were so dirty .food was very low quality and in price high. no wi-fi connection works. hotel is nearly 1.5 km away to main market place.

The room was smelling and even the staff I was charges 5000 but it was not even worth 2000 I will never stay here this was the worst experience of my life. NOT A GOOD PLACE TO STAY All the rooms were empty it seems we were the only family staying there.

Located on the Mall road near Tallital, this lake facing hotel provides a comfortable stay along with excellent food. The sit-outs & the open to sky terrace at the top offer excellent views of the Naini Lake & the Naina Peak against the backdrop of the ever changing skies ! We stayed for three nights at this hotel, which was booked through Cleartrip. The hotel staff provides good service but expects a handsome tip in return !

We went to stayed here in April 2016 for short trip of 2 days.I went there without booking but somehow got a room in top floor. The location is best part of this hotel. The outside look of the hotel gives you an pre-independence era feeling. There is lot of terrace and balcony space where you can sit on a sunny winter day and enjoy a nice conversation with your loved one over a cup of coffee or lunch overlooking the boats moving on Naini Lake. At night , you get to see the dark starry sky and cool winds blowing across your face. The food is hygienic and less spicy. The room is not very spacious and needs a some cleaning too. There is bathtub in bathroom.Room service can be made better. People are cooperative and nice. Rooms rates are cheaper as compared to other nearby hotels. I recommended this hotel to my friend and he had also appreciated it after coming back. To sum up, would be good choice to stay here considering its location, outside space and rates.…

I & many of my closest friends have been visiting this hotel for 45 years. Always amazing to see the many many changes to the hotel facilities and Nainital. This is a family owned and run establishment and what a dear wonderful sophisticated and warm family. Of course they will provide and help and guide you in every and all ways. The location just above The Mall in the middle of the lake is very convenient and easy to reach. All the facilities have been updated but are in keeping with a Kumoun "Hill Station", this is not Delhi or Mumbai.
