How often do you come across a place that stays with you for a while? Shirori is one such place. I was lucky enough to stumble upon the pictures of this beautiful secluded property on Twitter sometime around July 2018 and ended up visiting it in December 2018. Located at a distance from the hustle bustle of city life, Shirori offers a perfect getaway from your monotonous urban routine to a rich, untouched, almost mystical location that leaves you spellbound. Vibe: Shirori is located right in the lap of nature with the only companion being the flora and fauna. Peaceful and soothing, the experience rejuvenates ones senses and serves as a perfect detox from the noise. Fan of beautiful sunsets? - Check! An avid reader searching for that perfectly hanging hammock? - Check! Roaster of marshmallows in bonfire? - Check! I actually spent most of my time on the property absorbing the fresh air, sunshine, sipping some wine and lazying on the hammock. Stay: The rooms are spacious and actually match the pictures uploaded by the owners. In fact, I should add here that those beds are cozier than they appear. The rooms have appropriate heating facilities and the bathrooms are spick and span too. Food: Make sure you have most of your meals at the property because the food is exceptional. The ingredients are fresh, the cook is kind enough to offer multiple options and ensures that the food meets your expectations. The dining table is laid out to give one a picture perfect view of the hills. Service: The owners and the staff are very warm, kind and courteous. They ensure that the guests get the best experience. To sum it up, Shirori is a home in the hills that you never want to leave. Planning my next trip.

The food is local, simple and well made. The staff is prompt and very helpful. Stay here to avoid the Nainital crowd.

Shirori is the place where you will find peace. We stayed here for 2 days and these 2 days where like a therapy. You will only hear bird's singing. The bed is very cosy. The rooms are very unique. The staff is very cooperative. We had an amazing stay. Do visit if you love to stay aways from the crowd.

Had a wonderful weekend at Shirori. Just an hours drive from Kathgodam Railway station (or five and a half hours from Delhi) it's an incredibly beautiful property in the lap of nature - in the buffer zone of Jim Corbett. Overlooks a densely forested valley. The only sounds you can hear are those of birds and animals. We were lucky enough to hear the majestic roars of a leopard from the valley below, as well as the bellows of a deer. One can see at least fifteen to twenty different bird species on the estate itself - its a must visit for birdwatchers. One can go for small one hour treks to the nearby hills and villages or just laze in the hammock surrounded by clouds, overlooking the valley. The staff were really helpful as well and go out of their way to make your stay comfortable. The food is excellent ad well and at night they give you the option of having a beautiful bonfire, with both indoor and outdoor fireplaces. Would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a peaceful and comfortable stay in the lap of nature - away from the hustle bustle of large commercial hotels / properties. And at these prices, it's a real steal - this place can easily double or triple the room rent and it would be still be worth it.

I was travelling solo around Bhowali area when I came across this place. I decided to check it out. The place is about 15 kms from Nainital on a beautiful drive towards Shirori village from where the property got its name. The area is an extension of Corbett making it a perfect mix of wildlife and the hills. I got lucky to spot a bit of rare wildlife. I was greeted by their caretaker Saurabh who welcomed me with great warmth. It’s a huge property with almost the entire hill. They have fairly big and clean rooms with all the amenities of a luxury accommodation. Simple and fresh pahadi food was a delight. All in all a great property to be away from all the bustle with complete privacy. 5 stars to the property.
